Chapter 9

Violet's POV

I just walked back home after my run and seeing my boss to ask if I could leave Balto at work which she was more than happy to have him. When I had arrived got Summer up and gave her, her breakfast I got from the café I went into before going to talk with my boss. I had mine on the walk back here so I was all good until lunch hopefully. Once Summer and I were ready for school I woke Balto up from his nap and we walked back to the vets.

When we arrived we went straight to Dr. Rose's office to see if she was in, which she was. Balto went straight in as I had said and told him out loud to relax and get some rest. When Balto went in he went straight next to Dr. Rose's desk and lay down. I did say to Dr. Rose that if she needs to leave he would go into protective mode, especially if you say, "stay guard" or "guard".

We left after a while of talking to my boss, both Summer and I walking to school talking about what our schedules are and what not. A minute before we arrived I could smell the Night Star Pack but only a few members of the pack.

"We need to be more vigilant about everything as there seems to be a few more Night Star Pack members around today. Mind-link me if you need any help but make sure that they can't pick up that you can mind-link and are mind-linking or that you well we aren't human." I can tell that there are a few already at school and about two following us. "Do you want me to walk you to your first class or leave it?" I say in mind-link all of that, well apart from the last part where I ask summer about walking her to class since we are early.

"Okay sure thanks," Summer said referring to both the mind-link and my question I asked out loud. We continued walking in to school whilst keeping a look out on the pack members that were following us. I can tell something is up because the pack members are greater in number and seem to be nervous and exited?

"So which is your first class again and the class before lunch?" I ask because I can't remember what it was for today. Hell I can only just remember all my classes as this school doesn't like to have a simple schedule. This school unlike some of our previous schools have different schedules per day like on a Monday it could have been maths first but then on the Tuesday it was history. Least this school isn't like the one school that we went to where it was like this school but had a week A and B meaning week A was different than week B. Lucky for us we got out of there quickly and didn't have to really worry about staying there for too long because we had to run away again.

"English I think and then math before lunch," Summer responded to my question.

"Ahh okay that's alright then, you did your homework correct?" I asked Summer.

"We didn't get homework well at least I didn't I kind of finished all my homework in class cause it was easy and I had finished what the teachers had asked us to do."

"Okay that's good then, go and have fun in there and I will pick you up at your math class when I get out of my class." I said to her, which she just nodded and walked in to her class as we had ended up at her class. Summer nodded back to me and walked in to her class. I walked to my class, which was AP history and stared to prepare my notes as we usually take lots of them every lesson. After I finished with my organising I could tell that there was a high ranked maybe Jake though I didn't think he was in any of my classes, yet again I didn't meet him until yesterday, near by maybe walking past the class. The bell for first class rang a second later and everyone walked in. I noticed a few familiar faces but yet again I stay to myself and make sure I am basically invisible to every one else but I think my style of clothing gives me away now that I think about it.

The teacher soon walks in and start to put up a power point up on the projector and yes the school has in each class either has a projector or a TV where the teacher can plug their computers in and do a screen share thing or project what they want up on the whiteboard. The teacher finished quickly and we started to write different stuff about history.

Time Skip-Lunch

I just finished my AP science at the moment we are focusing on biology, which is one of my favourite subjects of science, and I headed to Summers math class.

"Summer do you want me to still come and get you from your class or not?" I mind-link Summer.

"I will meet you at our tree we got let out early." Summer mind-linked me back which saves me.

"Okay will meet you there soon you go and get your lunch I will get mine in a minute see you soon." I say to Summer heading to lunch but on my way I can see Jake in the cafeteria with what seems to be a bunch of high ranked pack members at a table near one corner of the room. I can also say that there is a delicious smell and it's not the food, it's like a combination of mint and forest that has just had rain. SHIT! it can't be.

"Val why didn't you warn me that you could sense that our mate was here earlier!!!" I asked Valarie knowing that she has known all day.

"Because I knew you would freak out but don't worry him nor his wolf can sense you" she responded to me.

"Okay good but how are you holding up" I ask her knowing my fear of meeting my mate is one of the things holding her back from letting him know that we are his mate. The other is because even though he is our mate, we can't trust anyone and she is really protective and is willing to live without our mate because it would be safer for him and for Summer as we would have to stay in one spot for the rest of our lives.

"I, well we, will live but it is hard knowing he goes to our school but it is weird that we haven't sensed him before unless he has been busy with the pack and hasn't been to school for a while." Valarie says to me being honest with me, which is good. During our conversation I got my food and headed out side to sit with Summer under the tree we have claimed as ours.

"We might have to leave earlier then planed, found out that we might have problems if we stay for too much longer." I say to Summer not giving away much but enough to say that when I give the signal we leave right away with no looking back.

"You okay? You look shaken up?" Summer says

"I might just have a reason to stay and if either Val or I say we need to leave you have to promise to make sure that we leave no matter what I say even if that means knocking me out please." I beg her which she responds with a nod a silent promise knowing that I am serious more then I have ever been I think.

"I understand although I was starting to like this place" Summer says to me.

"I know sister so did I but, I don't want to leave either especially now. If we have to I need you to knock me out to get out of here" I said back to her sighing deeply. I really don't want to leave now that I have knowledge of my mate but I know that I can't talk to him or interact with him.

Summer looks upset at what I had said but nods her head in understanding knowing that if it comes to it she will need to do what I had just said because if not it will endanger all of us including the Night Star Pack and possibly surrounding packs. Summer looks up for a second then down but quickly looks up wide-eyed then to me.

"What?" I asked her in mind-link. But she just shook her head saying no.
