Chapter 14

Violet's POV

When Jackson and the rest leave I go back and head towards the vet clinic and before I reach 100m from the edge of the forest I shift back to human form when there was no one around. I then went into the clinic and went to see Balto, Summer and Ruby the wolf who was injured.

"Hey sorry I'm late, the Night Star Pack had a rogue attack and I had to help otherwise three of their pack members including two pups would have died. Also Jackson already knows or gets a feeling that he has found his mate, which is me. I also attacked Jake because he royally pissed me off which what he was saying and also Jackson wasn't happy with him then I attacked because my anger overtook me and I may or may not have injured a few of his pack members but more so Jake but not super bad because I know that he is Jacksons best friend. Anyway Summer we need to get ready for school and then head out. Is Rose here? I need to talk to her. Also Ruby will you be okay if Rose helps heal you? Balto can possibly stay with you and I promise nothing bad will happen. I will also have to leave you here Balto because Jackson and Jake are getting suspicious and also Summer there is a rumour about us that is basically all true and Jack thinks that the leopard he saw today is it as there hasn't been any shifters apart from the were-wolves since the war. Also my coat colour is a dead giveaway in places like this especially when it's not snowing. Anyway I'm going to go and stop rambling." I say to all of them when Summer and Balto both give me a look as to say shut up.

'If Balto can stay I should be fine with Rose to heal me if you say that she's fine.' Ruby says to me.

"She will be fine and wont hurt you purposely and I am sure Balto will be able to stay with you. I will go and speak with her now." I say to Ruby and head towards Rose's office and we talk about what I talked about with Ruby about Balto staying with her all day since he will be staying here anyway and the only way Ruby will feel safe is if he is with her. Rose agrees and then I head back towards Summer and we both get ready for school and head off not before getting some food from the café near the vets.

Whilst walking to school from the café Summer and I talk a bit about what we can do with Ruby and then just have a bit of banter.

"I think Balto likes her."

"Really why?"

"Because I saw Balto curl up around her and at one point when you had left I heard her whimper and Balto wrapped himself up more around her and Ruby relaxed again. I think even at one stage Ruby managed to get her head under Balto's head and he seemed to relax more."

"As if feeling her next to him was his only way to relax and to protect her properly?" I ask Summer who just nods her head.

"Maybe your not the only one who has found their mate sister." Summer says to me and then proceeds to laugh at me scowling at her.

"Don't make me go all demon form on you now because I will." I say to her only half meaning it but with the way my morning has gone so far I would say that I am not going to be nice to deal with especially because my run got interrupted earlier.

"Stop making empty threats sister. I know you wouldn't dream of hurting me. We need to stop talking about this anyway soon as we are nearly at school now."

"Yeah you are probably right. I want to take you to your class before Jackson and his group of friends arrive so I can escape and go to mine away from all of them. I don't have the patience for their shit right now." I say to her in which she just laughs at me.

"Sure lets go so you, big bad sister can go and hide." Summer says laughing at me.

"I am not hiding... I am just being... urm careful?" I say trying to find the right wording but failing because she is right. I am hiding away from my mate. But it is for good reasons. This is to protect him and his pack. Does it make me feel shitty? Yes, but I can live with that if it means that he is safe.

"Sure what ever you says sister. Anyway lets go my first class is this way. I will meet you out side my math class before lunch right?"

"Sure thing Summer." I say and we arrived at school and both of us just walk into the school building. We don't say anything else as both of our moods have dropped from our fun banter to quieter moods as we are surrounded by people and as I have mentioned before Summer gets anxious when around people that she doesn't know and has only ever been her true self around those she considers family like me and Balto.

"Here you go, let me know if you need anything and I mean anything okay?" I say to her and then hug her giving her that small confidence boost that she needs and then I head to my first class, which is AP Maths again. When I walk in there was no one there again so I get in my seat and get my stuff ready for class. A few minutes pass and then I smell my mate near by and I tense up a bit but then try to relax. It is about 10 minutes before the bell rings and I can tell that Jackson is about to walk into this class probably to talk to me if I had to guess. Not even a minute after I think that he walks in and decides to sit next to me, which makes me scowl a bit at the thought.

"Hi Violet, I am guessing that you are in this class with me then?" Jackson asks me which catches me off guard a bit as he wasn't in any of my classes yesterday.

"You sure you got the right class? because this is definitely my class and you definitely where not in any of my classes yesterday so why are you here now?" I say to Jackson.

"Well since you are new I said to the principle that I can show you around and also because I actually need help in all my classes as I haven't been to school in a while. So the principle said that I can transfer to your classes and you can tutor me in all of them." Jackson said to me, which just made me look at him like he is stupid. Which he is if he thinks I am going to by his bullshit story.

"I am guessing that you convinced the principle that you can keep the grades up in the AP classes which is what this class is whilst you apparently like skipping school? And I am supposed to be tutoring you? Do you really think I am dumb enough to believe this stupid lie of yours. I may get good grades but that is because I study and put the work into it. Can you say the same about you Jackson?" I said to him not particularly happy with him at the moment.

"Yes?" He said but it came out more like a question.

"Really you really think I am going to by this?"

"Fine no but I do need help and I did convince the principle to change classes to the AP classes so you could help me even more. I also do need to be in theses classes because of the job I want to do when I am older like owning a business and shit like that." Jackson says. When he did say business I obviously knew he meant like running a pack and all the financial difficulties, alliances with other packs and defence strategies that will arise with it and it is in ways like owning a business and being tactical in business, well sort of I guess.

"Urgh fine I will help you but only on certain days and only at the library. I do not have time to be tutoring you but if I can do it when I help Summer with hers then I will be fine. As I said I can only do it on certain days and specific times and places. I am not flexible and if you don't show up for tutoring for whatever reason I will leave if you are more then 10 minutes max. Five if I have to do other things. No matter what time we start even if you are 9 minutes late we finish at the same time every time no matter what time you start. This means if you are 5 minutes late you will miss out on 5 minutes of tutoring. Theses are my conditions for helping anyone that isn't my sister. Also lessons will be only an hour sometimes might have to be half an hour."

"Okay that is fine and I can work with that."

"Good now leave me alone, class is about to start in a second." I say and just like that the bell goes off signalling the start of class. Jackson just looks at me shocked that I got the timing right bout the bell most likely. Funny thing is that because Jackson has just joined the AP classes he doesn't know about the surprise quizzes that we have. Because I can read minds I always know when the next quiz is if the teacher is thinking about it or is about to announce it to the class. I can already tell that we have a quiz this lesson so I put all my stuff away apart from my stuff that I will need for the quiz. Jackson who had looked back to the front heard me shuffling around looks at me puzzled on why I put my books away then looks back to the front when the teacher came in.

"Alright class we have another quiz get your books off your desk and I will hand out the quizzes to you." Our teacher said. I just sit in my seat, as I am already ready for the quiz. Jackson looks at me again and by the looks of it wants to say something but then our teacher comes up to me.

"Violet I know that Jackson is new to this class, you able to tutor him for this class as he has been obviously moved up classes and since you are our best student in the AP classes for this year the principle asked you to help him for all the AP classes. Also I got a harder quiz for you to do today again. Hopefully this time it will challenge you." The teacher said to me but already knows that it most likely wont be.

"All good Jackson already talked to me about the tutoring, I am going to help him on days I can with my younger sister as I sometimes help her as well. Thank you for the quiz aswell." I say to our teacher who then nods and gives me my quiz which will most likely be about at least double the questions the others get but I specifically ask the teachers if they can do this so I do have a bit of a challenge but only for the quizzes as it would be too hard for the tests and assignments. Plus the quizzes don't count to our grade and the teachers get the quizzes from an online website. Only the teachers are the ones that can access it as they each have a special code they can get as teachers and they have to enter it into the website. I only know this as I accidently went into a teachers mind onetime when they were looking at the quizzes.

Jackson looks at me quizzing and then to my quiz. This particular quiz is extra two pages then his which he got after the teacher handed me mine. I start my quiz about five minutes after Jackson started his and I finish before him and the other entire students in the class. I double check my answers and make sure I put all the working out on the pages as well to show my thinking. I then take my quiz up to the teacher who doesn't even looked shocked that I am done.

"How much time did you give for the others to start before you started?" The teacher asked me knowing full well that I had given the other students time to do theirs before I started mine.

"Five minutes I just wanted to double check I did everything right and that I showed my working out on every question to show my thinking." I said to my teacher.

"Okay thanks, if you want you can study or whatever for either this class or another class until the others finish and until I start the class again." He said to me, which I am happy with, as I need to study for a test we have in a different class.

I go back to my seat and bring out my notes for the test we have later, which Jackson looks at me confused again. This time it is probably because I have notes out for a different class that I have sorted out to make the study easier for myself. Jackson and the other students finally finish the quiz and then we actually start the class. I copy down notes and write extra notes that I know that will work and to also help with some other equations that will possibly appear later on.

The class finishes and I head to my next class with Jackson following right behind me as he now is in all my classes. Although in thinking that I remember Jake saying something about him in sport, which is when I beat him in a race, once again it was stupid of me. I walk into my next class, which is AP English and get out my books for class when I sit at the back of the class. The teacher comes in and starts the class. I again start to take notes and Jackson will sometimes look at my notes I think to see if he got everything and possibly more. I contemplate writing my extra notes in a different language but decided that if Jackson does it again in the next class I will just write the notes in a different language. Well either I can wait until next class or just start writing them in the different language next time he looks depending on how fed up I become.
