The three fishermen stood behind the three school friends. One of the men was again carrying a basket.
“Oh, great to see you again!” Julietta exclaimed. “We’re so sorry about setting the police on you last night,” Julietta added before anyone else could speak.
“Oh, yes,” one of the men responded. “They were about to arrest us when a call came through saying that it was a mistake,” he said with a smile.
Emile took a step towards the men.
“I’m really sorry for being so presumptuous,” he said with a sincere note in his voice.
“No, we understand,” the man responded. “You were only looking out for your friend and you assumed that we were about to attack her,” he explained. He looked truly sincere so Julietta was not worried about the fishermen being angry.
“You are very understanding,” Julietta responded. “But why are you out here again, after dark?” she asked.
“We also just love the lake,” another fisherman replied with a broad smile.
