Chapter 49: Advice About Wolf Dating

The following morning at school, Julietta sat in the cafeteria for her first break. She waited for someone familiar to join her. The events of the previous night felt like a dream and she wanted someone to bring her back to reality. She had Raine’s card in her school bag, but she could not bring herself to call him.

“What about the promises you made to him?” she asked herself inwardly. “He was only being himself under difficult circumstances. Is it now the time to test my loyalty? Who do I ask about this?” she asked anxiously.

When she saw Emile and Sheila enter the cafeteria, Julietta felt a surge of relief flow through her. They waved at her but chose a table a distance away from her.

“That’s very strange,” Julietta told herself. “They don’t even bother to come near me.”

A disturbing thought suddenly hit her. What if the news about Raine’s identity had spread? What if they had somehow found out that she had returned home with a grease-covered man?
