As the days moved forward and I became more settled into my feelings about Tyler, I knew that the only thing left to do in order to really have this take off was to have Aubrey spend a longer amount of time with him. If she could just hang out with him a few more times and really take her chance on understanding him as a person, rather than a social media presence, I was confident she’d like him as much as I did. 


To not have her blessing—well, I’m not sure how I’d navigate it. It would either mean losing my only and closest friend, or Tyler and I wasn’t prepared to give up either. But that wasn’t something I could focus on. I needed to stop letting my thoughts create false realities for me and give my attention to what was important, which was what was happening right here and now.


“Does this look ok? Or is it too much?” Aubrey asked as she came out of the bathroom in her third outfit change of the night.
