He drew her to him and lightly touched her cheek with his lips—and even that small trace caused vibrations through her nerves, sending chills through her entire body. "Tell me right now if you want me to stop," he said quietly. He brushed his mouth against the hollow of her temple, when she still didn't say anything. "Or now," he whispered. He drew a line across her cheekbone with his finger. "Or right now." His lips were pressed up against hers.

A distant beeping sound was the first sound she heard. There were voices whispering from somewhere close. Sammy opened her eyes, and all she saw were two florescent lights. Where was she? 


She blinked against the bright light emanating from the light. Her head was pounding. She raised a hand to her forehead and touched a cloth. Why was a cloth wrapped around her head? As she tried to sit up, she winced in pain and fell back onto something soft. Her head was pounding. 


"Hey, sweetie. Don't try to sit up." Sammy recognized the voice immediately, despite her dazed condition.


"Hospital, babe. Just relax, okay. You collapsed in the bathroom of some pharmacy. You must have hit your head during the fall. They called an ambulance and then contacted me."
