Chapter 40: Almost Doesn't Count

The previous night had been harrowing. Sammy had twisted and turned the whole night through. She had wanted to sleep curled up in a ball to keep warm but had been afraid of hurting her baby. She really had to read more about the best practices to ensure her baby was safe. She had seen a blanket at the laundromat, she wondered if she could ask Monica to borrow it. The flimsy blanket at the shelter was doing a poor job of body heat insulation.

There was only the problem of having to explain to Monica why she needed the blanket. Her employees still had no idea that she was staying at a homeless shelter. Maybe it was time to tell them, that she really needed the blanket before she found herself getting sick. She was not well versed in the whole pregnancy thing, but she was certain that getting sick wasn't good for a person in her condition.
