Kid Psychic V

Though they may have tried to be subtle, every time that the Smiths were fighting spirits, square-headed shadows would lurk in the dark corner.

James would always investigate but those shadows would always disappear into a crowd.

Every time they blended in, they would leave behind paper bags with eyeholes and a red smile painted on them.

It would seem that people wearing these weird masks were always snooping around the duo.

From the start of their spiritual escapades, the boy as well as the audience could feel the distinct feeling of being watched.

A mystery was afoot and just as young James wondered when it would be resolved.

The culprits came blocking his path, just when he was about to meet up with his dad.

"Hehe! Hello to you, my good boy!" Said Weird Mask 1.

"Are you feeling depressed?!" Echoed Weird Mask 2.

"Or sad?! Or lonely?!" Weird Mask 1 with his choreographed follow.

It was all cheery but it went all eerie with their follow-up. "We've been watching you and know you are outcasted, shunned, and bullied!"

"Thus, we came with a chance for you to be freed!"

"Sorry, I have to go!" James declined and before he knew it, his vision went dark. He was masked with a version without eyeholes.

It was then a back-and-forth of the boy and the masked men trying to get their masks back to the boy. They found out that no matter what they'd do, it would just float up.

Same with the rope they plan to tie the boy on, as it would just rip.

The viewers knew that little James could make do with them just by virtue of his powers.

But the stupid code of not using his powers to inflict harm on others had already been imprinted on him.

Eventually, Jonathan was forced to wear the eyeless but smiling mask and poor James had to cease his resistance.

Then, the kidnappers and the Smiths found their way into an abandoned warehouse. It was dark with only minimal lighting.

Tens, if not hundreds, of masked men were congregating towards a stage. On the spotlight was a man with a green complexion with unusually red and bent lips. "Hello, my followers! And welcome to another hour for our Smiling Church to spread its joys to the sad world!"

"Yes! Yes! Yes!" The masked men chanted with practiced rhythm. "Mr. Smile! Mr. Smile! Mr. Smile!"

"Let us... BEGIN!" Mr. Smile spread his hand and the singular spotlight became partnered with many.

It showed that there were other people tied up on the stage and people realized that the Smiths aren't the only victims in their charade.

It was a cult of weirdness unlike any other. The crowd was laughing while the people at the front were miserable and depressed.

Eventually, the Smiths were also lined up with them. Only Jonathan was squirming around his spot like a rabid man.

The scene progressed and it turned out that those in front were not to be sacrificed at all. Every time Mr. Smile would place his mask on the depressed people, they would suddenly be energized and happy.

As it turns out, James was being targeted due to his depressing school life and not because they were hunting spirits. Poor Jonathan was just collateral in their supposed 'mood-uplifting scheme'!

When it was James' turn to be transformed, no matter how many times Mr. Smile did his magic, no happy change could be seen in him.

Mr. Smile grittedly moved on to the next person to stop embarrassing himself and only Jonathan was left beside him.

When the not-so-depressed Jonathan became transformed into an always laughing man, the young James that thought Mr. Smile was doing good deeds figured out that it wasn't the best he thought it would be.

The little kid had something snap inside him! Somber music came and...

...the 99 intro song was smoothly warped into the background!

The hyping moments were setting up and the viewers were at the edge of their seats due to the influencing and masterful tones and tensions.

James had something boil inside him and Mr. Smile expressed his goals to his always smiling and laughing constituents.

'91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98...' The audience could hear the percentage count ramp up and time itself with the villain's speech.

"I will become a God!" When Mr. Smile yelled such a declaration, the music timed itself with the elongated: 'Ninety... niiiiine!!'

A shockwave threw the ecstatic Mr. Smile off the stage.

The cult along, the newly-converted laughers, the disheveled Mr. Smile, and the audience were introduced at the nominal 100%!

James' latent psychic powers were introduced to the world and Jonathan's foolish mandate on his son' not using his powers against people finally came into a full circle.

In an impressive feat of psychic powers, the dim warehouse suddenly became basked in the night sky as James' surging shockwaves were knocking out roofs and the pillars of the building itself.

The stunned viewers ruminated on the powers hiding in the good four-year-old body and the people around him were left tumbling and weaving.

The shockwaves came with a rhythm and just as the cultist was about to be thrown out by a powerful surge into the unknown, it suddenly stopped.

The berserk and thunder-trekking James arrived in front of Mr. Smile! The boy concentrated his psychic power into his flicking hand which was pointed at Mr. Smile's head.

The audience and Jonathan could already foretell the terror that such a move could unleash.

Without time to stop the flick, it happened but Mr. Smile's head was intact. Only something even more fearsome was driven out of an average man's body.

Green and menacing! The eternally-smiling spirit with a God complex was released from possessing a man's body. He was gigantic, muscled, and awe-aspiring!

A boss battle was commenced and the true and honest-to-goodness climax finally arrived.

The ultra-powered spirit with religious accumulations was no match for the unbelievably talented but suppressing kid psychic.

"Noo... my godhood! My... everything!" The villain's wail was heard and the berserkless James was falling to the ground.

The normally-incompetent Jonathan came to the rescue and the end sequence was initiated... or was it.

The audience was then back to something reminiscent of the first scene with James snoozing on his preschool table.

'Psst... psst... hoy... kid... psychic... hello...' An echoey voice forced the boy to wake up instead of the school bell.

The esper vision was turned on, revealing a weakened and deflated Mr. Smile who said.

'Can I take you as my master?'
