The Dinner

"Really? I would like to be a student there, please" Kaylee conveyed.

"Yeah sure, I'll help you if you want. What's your grade?" Shehan conveyed while picking up the phone and looking for a number.

"I'm in grade 10" Kaylee answered.

"Oh! My sister is in grade ten too. She's a good person and she'll be a good friend to you. Wait, I'll give you our teacher's number so you can talk to her and go to our school." Shehan expressed while forwarding the number of the teacher to Kaylee.

"Oh! Thanks! By the way, what is your job?" Kaylee's mom questioned unexpectedly.

"Um, Auntie am still Studying. In Moratuwa University" Shehan Conveyed while making his hair.

"Oh! That's good. Kaylee is also going to go to University after her school studies and she's also a Modler" Kaylee's mom expressed about her daughter proudly.

Kaylee couldn't imagine what had happened and suddenly she stated "MOM! Oh! She means that I'm going to be a modeler but I'm not sure about it"

Kaylee was angry with her mother because she messed up her plans.

"What?" Kaylee's mom questioned Kaylee doubtfully.

"Mom, what if we take the dinner now?" Kaylee expressed furiously as she was looking at the clock.

"Oh! Yes, I almost forgot" Kaylee's mom conveyed and went straight to the kitchen.

Phew! Finally, she stopped her mother's mouth.

"Wow!! What is this? I've never seen food like this. It looks delicious." Shehan questioned Kaylee's mom (Lola) as he pointed to the plate of meat and parsley.

"Oh! It's Beef bourguignon. it's a French beef stew braised in red wine, red Burgundy, and beef stock, typically flavored with carrots, onions, garlic, and a bouquet garni, and garnished with pearl onions, mushrooms, and bacon" Lola replied while serving.

"Ah, right," Shehan conveyed. But he could not remember the name of the food because the name of the food was in French and he did not know French.

"I have never seen this dish before. You surprised me. I bet one day when you eat my country's food, you will enjoy our food as much as I enjoyed yours" Shehan expressed while willing to taste it.

"Yes, sure we will. Can you please take me and introduce me to some?" Kaylee asked Shehan who suddenly came into the middle of the conversation.

"Hey, don't disturb him, Kaylee. We will take you to a restaurant one day" Lola stated.

Shehan coughs and conveyed "it's not a problem auntie. I can take her to my favorite restaurant if it's okay"

"Don't worry son. We will take her to it. Don't miss your work because of her" Lola expressed to Shehan.

"Hmm, but mom..." Kaylee said while rolling her eyes.

"Okay auntie, but helping you guys is not a problem to me. I am always here to help everyone" Shehan conveyed with a helpful sound.

"Such a good man you are!" Lola conveyed while accepting him as a good friend to kaylee.

Shehan smiled a little bit and started to taste the food.

After taking dinner, Kaylee and Shehan decided to move to the garden and start their conversation.

"So, is it real? Do you want to attend the school here?" Shehan started the conversation.

"Yes, I am serious, I want to attend. I need to learn about your culture and so on" Kaylee expressed.

"Oh! Why are you so interested in this? Is anything special?" Shehan questioned.

"Yeah, my closest friend is in Srilanka. But I haven't seen her in reality yet. As she told me about her school, it was so awesome" Kaylee expressed curiously.

"Oh! Oh! That's the reason. Fine, I will help you then" Shehan conveyed helpfully.

"Thanks, by the way, tell me about your family" Kaylee conveyed.

"If I talk about my family, my family consists of me, my parents, and a sister who is about your age. We are a small peaceful family. Actually, there is not much to say about my family. If you can tell me about your family, you can tell me." Shehan expressed while smiling.

"Oh! My family is also small. I have a brother instead of a sister. I have a crazy brother" Kaylee expressed about her family.

"Who told you that my sister isn't crazy? Ha-ha, my sister is the craziest sister in the world and also I love her so much" Shehan conveyed.

"Ha-ha, seems like our families are same" Kaylee said while laughing.

"Oh! I noticed something. You always do smiling when talking with me. Why are you doing that?" Kaylee questioned.

"There's nothing special. That's the way I'm talking" Shehan replied while closing his mouth with his hand.

"Hey silly, stop doing that. By the way, that's nice of you Shehan," Kaylee conveyed while smiling and keeping her eyes straight to Shehan's eyes.

"No way, Miss Kaylee, please don't imitate me" Shehan expressed while giggling loudly with Kaylee.

"Don't call me 'Miss'. If you did, I will imitate you. Deal?" Kaylee conveyed and at that time Shehan started to laugh like crazy.

"Jeez, this girl. Fine, I agree" Shehan started to laugh nonstop.

"What if you spend your night at our home?" Kaylee requested suddenly.

"Actually, Kaylee, I don't think your parents will allow it and also my parents also won't allow it" Shehan answered confusingly and while trying to escape.

"Come on, I will make my parents to allow. I know now you can't go your home as it's night already" Kaylee expressed as she wanted to help him.

"Kaylee, I'm really sorry. I can't spend the night here because I have a special meeting tonight so I must go" Shehan lied to Kaylee by saying that he had a meeting tonight as he don't want to make her parents feel that he is taking advantage of them.

"Hmm, okay then. I just want to help you. But it's okay Shehan if you want to go. I can understand" Kaylee expressed sadly.

"Please don't get sad Kaylee" Shehan started to feel sorrowful as Kaylee got sad because of the lie he said but he had nothing to do. He doesn't want her parents to see him as an advantageable person.

Shehan tried his best to comfort Kaylee and finally, he promised to take her to his favorite place that he almost missed to show her and also get the permission of her parents to take her out.

"I have to go now Kaylee" Shehan conveyed after a few hours.

"Oh! Wait, let me talk to my mom and dad" Kaylee ran into the house and told her parents that he is going leave the house.

When her parents were aware of his departure, they called him and before he left, notified him that they were willing to meet his parents.

Kaylee then felt that her parents were attempting to get a close relationship with him and his parents and Kaylee had doubts about it.
