Chapter 19 : Bored

Apparently our 'renovations' were acceptable after all it's our room. Jethro seemed to like the vibe there, so he said he'd be dropping by often to relax, but mainly taste Nobe's cooking.

At first Nobe thought that he was here to tell us to revert it back to how it was, so he decided to cox Jethro with his cooking. Poor dude cooked non stope for an hour and thirty minutes trying to appease Jethro. I was watching from my tree since I can see through and or past objects, after all I have nice eyes, I could also hear their conversation.

When Jethro was full, he ate a lot by the way, he told Nobe that he was here to take a look at the room since the room was located in the center of the northern continent, basically some tracking issues since when increasing the room's size, I had to completely remove the room and put a new one under my space distortion, which means I cut the school's manual mana, water and power supply to the room and applied my own.

This caused confusion and Jethro was sent to check it out, once everything was cleared up he said the only change that he shall implement was to bring the room back under the school's supervision, though since that's impossible since it's my spatial field he decided to leave it as is with the only exception that he shall come here often to supervise and make sure we don't do something dumb and Nobe's cooking.

Nobe called me a traitor for the rest of the day and refused to cook for me lunch as usual, so I had to get food from one of the school's restaurants, which is where I'm going right now. Since my duel is at 3 pm I decided to roam around school on foot for once on buildings or in the sky and actually try school food, I doubt it would be anywhere close to Nobe's, but I'll just have to wait and see.

I looked at the spatial map of the school I created in my head and searched for the restaurants that I marked, during my spare time I read recommendations on the restaurants at school from the school forum and then edited my map in accordance with their rankings, from best to worst according to the students and according to what they serve best. Because of this I went to a mid-level restaurant that served the best lunch called 'Tarquoise'.

At first I wondered why they misspelt the word but apparently it was part of their charm. The walk to tarqouise was, basic? I don't know how to rate walks, but I do know for sure that a lot of people took the hint of me not wanting to join any groups as no one approached me, well except the red head from the exam.

While I was walking I practically sensed something coming towards me, and fast, so naturally I dodged it by warping to the side the moment it was about to make contact with me. Stumbling forward, the red head came to a halt and looked at me.

Seeing as how she just continued to stare at me I continued on my way when she blocked my path. Trying to walk around her, se persisted and blocked my path once again. I looked at her in the eye with a confused expression, but she just stared at me.

After a while I got tired and just decided to teleport to tarqouise. By the way, although warping is less mentally tasking than teleporting, I am unable to warp long distances and if obstacles are in the way, I'm just not proficient enough with it. Reappearing at tarqouise, I entered, sat at a random table, and looked at the menu.

"Where the hell did he go!?" the red head shouted in anger as she stomped her feet in anger. Her intention today was to talk to the one who helped all the commoners to enter Ignatius.

Her name is Elena Abigail, though her friends call her Abby sometimes. She curious by nature and tends to desire to self-improvement usually in the face of failure and battle, she also has a strange hobby of trying to read and understand people of interest, and that's what she was trying to do to mono. Though her methods are odd they have worked for her up to now.

"He didn't get visibly angry nor irritated or even impatient, usually everyone becomes annoyed when someone does what I just did even Emily got annoyed. So, I can guess that he usually calm and isn't violent without need."

Whenever she gets an interest in someone, her methods of approaching them are nothing short of odd and weird, she has already approached multiple people with her odd mechanics. Why she does this Is to let her know those close to her and how they will act in certain situations, after all we shall be placed in permanent teams in the future as we progress in Ignatius, so, to her doing this Is more important, it also keeps her on her toes.

"Abby!!" A cry resounded behind her. With out even looking back she knew who cried her name, it was the air user who really didn't do much during the test, ironically she was stuck in air for the entire test, she says that mono trapped her there, but no one wants to give her that peace.

"Oh~ Violet, were where you?" Abigail saw Mono from the bakery close by that her and Violet were at buying cakes, when she saw him she ran out of the shop and after Mono, leaving Violet behind.

"Don't give me that crap!" Violet snarled at Abigail. Violet is Abigail's roommate and the only wind user who did the test, she was the one that was trapped by mono in the sky throughout the fight.

"Who was that? and why did he just Vanish?" One thing about Violet that Abigail found out about her is that she can't stay angry or annoyed for long, as to why Abigail didn't really care nut since Violet is very carefree she took pity on her and decided to become her best friend to help her avoid those who might take advantage of her.

"Oh him, he's no one special so forget about him." Abigail dismissed her question and walked back to the bakery. But Violet really wanted an answer, so she pestered Abigail on the way.

'He and Emily are my top priority, especially why they are so close. I hope he's not boring, by the way, he also had no apprehension towards our difference in status and didn't seem disgusted that I approached him like those other snobs. I wonder if Emily likes chocolate, I should get her some.' Abigail's thought's ran randomly as she planed her next coincidental meeting with the two.

"You aren't even listening!" while Violet talked her ear off.

The food at tarqouise was acceptable, it wasn't trash at all, but I got addicted to Nobe's cooking during these 4 days so most food from now on probably won't compare.

Looking at my wrist, I sighed and realized I leave my watch on my desk, since Nobe is practically a clock I always ask him for the time when necessary.

Another problem for us space users, when we find/make something convenient we forget about our old method and to check for any unforeseen flaws in the new method. In short I forget to account for the fact that Nobe won't always be around me, so I won't always be able to taste his cooking or now the right time and he can also lie about the time if he wants.

Sighing, again, which made me feel like the old geezer since he does it every time he sees me, I teleported to my room, more specifically one of the hanging beds on the giant tree and slept, but before that I set an alarm for 2:50 pm on my watch that I'm wearing once more.

....

Well, I wanted to, but I haven't seen Emily for some time, and I wasn't sleepy, so I got up and decided to go bother her before my duel.

When I found her, which was quick since I marked her, so I know her general location all the time, she was training with her element, trying to improve her flexibility with it during combat and increase damage every time a spilt counter was made but since she trains with me all the time since she was 9 and I was 10, she really found no improvement during this.

As she was about to give up, I appeared Infront of her and said with a small smile on my face "You know you can always ask me to help when it comes to training right?"

Startled at my sudden appearance she almost attacked me but when she finally actually saw me she continued to do so anyway. "I wanted to try out the facilities here first and see if they might help, I was going to all you soon." She replied as she continuously harassed me with shadow blades.

I've been helping her, on request of her father to help her improve. At first she was against me as her new teacher but once I beat the crap out of her she finally agreed. Fun fact I broke her arm on our first meeting, that was the first time she experienced excruciating pain and it was because of that pain that she accepted me as her new teacher, she also set her goal during our fights to break my arm but she has never been able to do so.

I asked what she wanted to improve during this fight, now knowing what she wanted to focus on I changed my fighting style to best suit what she wanted to improve. Since it was her flexibility with it during combat and increase damage every time a spilt counter was made, I gave her no chance to rest for the entire fight and progressively increase the damage I dealt to her, she complained and yelled at me but I didn't stop, this went on for an hour.
