His reason

"You... should stop liking my husband," I stopped when I faced her again, "You don't know who you're messing with. So, you better look and get ready for yourself if you try to mess with our marriage."

I never heard a word or a thing from her, and she immediately left Noah's office. A smirk was drawn over my lips while I was thinking about how she reacted earlier. I went back to the swivel chair and rotated it again while smiling evilly, thinking about how she reacted earlier.

No one... No one could mess with me or my marriage to Noah. I felt a little bit drowsy while inside his office. It was so boring and peaceful that it made me fall asleep. I didn't know how much sleep I got, but when I opened my eyes, I saw Noah was in front of me while he was focused on his laptop. He was typing something. My eyes were half-opened while staring at him, secretly. He's so hot and handsome even though he's just typing at his laptop.

I didn't know how this man married an ordinary woman like me. I guess I was so lucky to have him then. Am I? I was still staring at him when he suddenly spoke, "Are you going to keep looking at me?" I was surprised and then opened my eyes and sat properly.

"Is it really obvious that I am looking at you?" he nodded his head and I bit my lower lip. I was keeping it lowkey, but he still managed to notice it. Is it because he was also staring at me? Is it?

"What lunch do you want? Do you want to eat something?" he asked me. I smiled when he mentioned that. I felt hungry the moment he mentioned it. "Yes. I want to eat crabs," I answered him, and he nodded his head. I thought he was going to scold me again, but this time... He just nodded his head and let me do what I wanted.

"Anything else?"

"No. I'm good at that," I said to him, and then he made a call to order the food that I wanted. I was smiling while looking at him, but when he looked at me, he was wearing a poker face like he always does.

"Are you that happy?" he questioned, and I nodded my head, excitedly.

He chuckles. The first chuckle I saw and heard from him. It was new to me. I didn't know how to react while staring at him. He looks so attractive when he smiles. I was so stunned to speak, "What happened to you?"

"Nothing... You're handsome," I suddenly said to him, and then he socffed. "I know," he was confident while saying that. He really knows that. I rolled my eyes at him, but suddenly, a minute or two, the food arrived. I was clapping my hands while looking at all the crabs in front of me. I smelled it because it was so delicious.

"It smells so good," I started to pick some crabs, but I accidentally hit my thumb with the sharp claws of the crabs. I groaned as I was fanning my hand, but suddenly Noah took my hands to him and checked on them.

"You need to be careful," he uttered, and it gave me such damn butterflies. It wasn't just butterflies. I think it was the zoo already. I smiled up to my ears while looking at him, as he put an ointment on my thumb. I looked at his face, everything about him was so perfect. How can I take this man with me? He was so good and hot to handle.

"There... You need to be careful, okay?" I nodded my head. I was about to take another one when he took it before me and gave it to me. All he did for me right now was it all for my first time. All of that, it was my first time experiencing those things, and.. I kinda like it very much.

"Thank you," I uttered and started to eat. "What about you?"

"I already had my lunch when you're sleeping. So, help yourself," he said.

After I finished all the food he ordered, he looked at me, unbelievably. I could see how his eyes narrowed and his forehead frowned, "Did you finish them all... by yourself?" he asked, as if he couldn't believe that happened.

"Yes."

"Woah... I didn't know you ate this much," he said, and there was a smirk on his lips, but it immediately faded away. It was three in the afternoon, but I was still in his office while he was doing his work. I kept staring at him while he did his work. He was massaging his head, and I noticed that he seemed to have a headache.

I walked closer to him with a smile, "Do you want me to give you a massage?" I asked him, but he didn't answer me as he was so focused on his laptop. I started to place my hands on his forehead and I caught his attention, "What are you doing?" he asked me in a cold tone.

"I am giving you a massage. You can still work while I do a massage here," I said to him, and he didn't say anything after that. I started to massage his forehead and it seemed like he was enjoying and liking it. He was more focused on his work while I was massaging his head. This is the least I can do for him. He doesn't want me to work either, and I don't know why.

He stopped typing and took a deep sigh. "Abi..." the way he calls my name makes me feel shivers and chills. I stopped what I was doing and went in front of him. "Yes?" I had the broadest smile while I was facing him.

"Look at this," he said as he turned the laptop to face me. The corner of my lips slid downwards while I was reading an article about myself. I took a deep breath, "It's okay. It's not even true," I kept smiling, but when I looked at him, he wasn't smiling. Those cold stares again. I don't like them.

"This..." I looked at him while gulping. I am really nervous right now. While looking at him right now in his state, it seemed like he was ready to eat someone. "This is the reason..."

"What? What do you mean?" I asked him in confusion.

"This is the reason why I don't want them to know about you. That's why I've been hiding you to keep you away from these damn and stupid articles!" I could see the anger in his face and his tone.

I was so stunned and surprised at the same time. I didn't know because I didn't ask him about this. He has a point, but I don't get it. Why do people judge me easily because I got married to him? Why can't society accept that he married me? He married an ordinary woman like me. It's just so simple, right? But... why? Why is it hard for me to accept it?

"This is what I am doing to protect you, but... You wanted me to expose you, right?" he asked me, but I couldn't even utter a word or open my mouth to say something. I was so stunned to speak to him. I felt embarrassed. All those hatred and hate comments and hateful articles about me. It went trending and viral.

He was about to speak again, but I couldn't stop the tears that started to come out of my eyes. I am so emotional right now. I think I am being selfish in loving him. Did I do the right thing? Or... Am I wrong?

I never uttered a word when suddenly he grabbed my hands closer to me. "So... Don't mind it. We're here, so? We need to face it, also, ignore all those articles, right?" he said to me, and that was so comforting. I didn't know that he knew how to comfort me. He's way too good right now.

The thing I saw right now was... He knows how to treat his girl.

My tears continued to drip from my eyes when he cupped his hands and wiped away those tears. "Stop crying now. Your eyes will be swollen. Don't ruin your pretty face because of that article, do you understand me?" I nodded my head and plastered on a tight smile.

He patted my head, "That's right. You're such a good girl, Abi. You did well," he uttered. His voice was calm and comforting. I didn't know anymore if he really was still the Noah that I knew before. His coldness wasn't there anymore at that moment.

"Then... this time... You... need to be brave," he said, and he suddenly grabbed my face, leaning in closer to him and kissed me inside his office.

I love you, Noah. I love you.

To be continued...
