Capture the Flag

_12_ (Third Person's Point of View)

"We're close friends with this red-haired girl," Jaxith said so Lavalee shook and removed the hug from her

"Mind your own business, Imperial," Lavalee said so Jax stood up again and stood beside Icarus

"Student council, this is our plan; avoid Death's Angels at all costs." Icarus said loudly, obviously wanting the other team to hear it

"You idiot!" Irene said and punched Icarus

"Language," Chelsea widened her eyes at Irene's rebuke

"You should scold her, Tal. She cusses as the time, like a stupid idiot." Icarus said and an empty bottle of water went flying and hit his mouth

"Language, Icarus Santiago." Chelsea reprimanded him, which made the people with them laugh

"Is it painful?" Jess teased him and they continued making the flag

Chelsea brought the paints and brushes and everything they can use to make the flag.

The student council has theirs too, but they had to share it with all the students so they decided to just share the materials in Lavalee's group.

After the time has passed, it's already four pm and it's time to present their flags.

"The first flag to be presented belongs to our beloved Student Council." The facilitator announced and Icarus went up along with the other living student council members

Icarus is beside his vice president, then the secretary, and Jaxith as his auditor then the public relations officer, the college representative for the third year, and the Student Council treasurer.

Unfortunately, their peace officer died during the Death Maze.

As they show the next flag the students can't help but compare.

Usually, the flags only have their group name imprinted on and small extra designs but the student council's flag have designs and drawing, it clearly allowed them to be artistic and when the last one was called it made them more envious and belittled.

'You are already jealous of us, how about when you see Lav's?' Jaxith thought and glanced at Lavalee and the girls who are seated on the side.

"Let us now see the flags of our last and final group, Death's Angels!" the facilitator announced and when they went up the stage, none of the members is smiling.

Every one of them has a blank face, not even Chelsea gave a smile. Lavalee held one side of the flag while Chelsea held the other side

When their flag was revealed and shown on the screen like every group's flag, enviousness and amusement can be seen on every student's face.

Who wouldn't?

The flag used to be white but now it's in different colors, The flag is divided into four different colors; red, yellow, black, and green but the thing is that in every color there's a silhouette in white color and music notes are designing the sides like vines.

It was a work of art and no one will dare to think that it will be used for a game like Capture the Flag, no the game sounds too easy and fun.

The flag looks too beautiful to be used in a game of life and death where the lives of each participant depending on how good they are at fighting.

There are only 40 groups and it will soon decrease to at least ten because each group has to collect at least 3 flags, the more flags you have, and the earlier you get your bracelets scanned, the higher place you'll be in.

The sky was suddenly filled with different colors the moment the facilitators were out of sight. The beautiful fireworks signaled the beginning of the last event.

Lavalee took the flag and wrapped it around her waist then they went out.

In the middle clashes, some throw shuriken and kunai, some shoot with guns, and some fight in hand combat.

Simultaneously with the rising of the moon is the decrease of the participants.

Jess is facing a man who's currently using a cutlass.

She smirked and manipulated her katana to bend upon her will. The katana looked like a silver ribbon from afar because of how fast and precise Irene is moving it.

A little later, the clashing of their swords ended because Irene was able to manipulate the sword into falling off from the guy's hand.

It's her expertise, and she won't let anyone beat her when it comes to that.

"Weak," Irene teases and looks for another opponent.

It looks like Irene and Jess are just kids playing and don't care about the blood coming out of their bodies.

They have become accustomed to this happening during their time in the world in which they live.

It's as if they're just manipulating their opponents. If there's one thing Jess and Irene often agree on, it's torturing their opponents.

One by one they took the flags from each leader and member they defeated, not one of their opponents survived.

All of Irene's opponents had four cuts and all of Jess's opponents had three cuts.

The number of slices is based on their rank in the group.

Irene was fourth and Jess was third so that's how many cuts.

Irene and Jess immediately collect four while Lavalee and Chelsea take care of something else.

Something the two of them shouldn't know anymore.

"Sometimes knowing less will save you from the possible pain you'll get." Lavalee said in her mind as she fought.

"I knew it!" Chelsea said when noticing what kind of person Lavalee was attacking

"Shut it," Lavalee said coldly when he heard Chelsea.

She threw a threatening look at it because it would be dangerous for the two to find out.

Chelsea immediately got what it meant.

So, she looked away and continued to fight.

"What's up?" Irene asked when she heard what was said and the tone of Lavalee's voice

"Nothing," Chelsea said and helped Lavalee in the fight

'That's why I was included. Oh, Lavalee. ' Chelsea thought and continued fighting using the distance

She's using her whip to whip the ones who are trying to come near her. Lavalee gave her a mask to cover half of her face, she's only showing her eyes and it's making things way easier.

She removed her eyeglasses which made her unidentified by anyone outside their circle of friends.

After quite a while, Jess and Irene we're starting to get bored as midnight strikes.

They eliminated almost half of the participants and they've collected 8 flags already.

"Wait for a little more," Lavalee ordered using their earpiece as she jumped from one tree to another like a cat.

She's eliminating the intruders in the game because she knew what they are here for.

'6 hours left, what is Lavalee thinking?' Chelsea thought and they continued to fight.

Suddenly, Lavalee disappeared from her sight.

"I think you're alone." Six men intercepted Chelsea

"Alone? Tal? " Jess asked in surprise

"I can handle myself," Chelsea replied and whipped her whip

"What can your whip do?" the man asked and was surprised when Chelsea suddenly hit them

Soon the men were dead because they didn't notice that a dagger was tied to the end of Chelsea's whip.

"Tal, where's Lav?" Jess asked in astonishment

"She has her own business." Chelsea replied but inside she was nervous.

'Goodness, Lavalee! You have a warning already. ' Chelsea thought worriedly as she struggled to find Lavalee's whereabouts

She climbed a tree and typed in the air.

She tried to find Lavalee and he was just as surprised because it was going to their base.

"Are you separated?" Irene asked

"We got separated," Chelsea answered and went closer to their base and she was so surprised because there was no one at their base.

She saw the tracker placed on their earpiece move but he couldn't see Lavalee so he stopped and he saw it stop as well.

Lavalee played with her. She's just following on her own track because she has Lavalee's tracker.

'Why? Why did he remove it? ' thought Chelsea and exited their base.

She noticed something in the bag she was wearing and she saw their flag.

'But what's tied to -' Chelsea's eyes widened at the conclusion that came to her mind.

"Scan your bracelets," Lavalee ordered using her earpiece and they immediately dashed towards the center where the scanner is.

Chelsea dashed out and prepare her katana.

She did everything to clear her way and immediately arrive at the center.

"Lavalee," Chelsea called in confusion while she was eliminating the hindrances to her path

"Game over," Lavalee replied sternly and that sent chills to Jess, Irene and Chelsea.

They haven't heard that tone ever since Lavalee was orphaned.

The last time they heard it was when Lavalee was still mourning and wanted to take revenge.

Everyone in the center area suddenly stiffened when they saw Lavalee walking, but it's not what made them stiffen, it's the intimidating and dangerous aura Lavalee is emitting and her auburn eyes aren't helping because they are like burning flames.

The students halted from what they are doing as they pass and when Lavalee stepped onto the stage three men appeared and they are shaking.

With a swift move, the three men were beheaded and their heads rolled down the stage.

Blood splattered on the asphalt ground, and no matter how usual such scenery is to people in the underground, they felt her anger.

No one dared to move as Lavalee scanned her bracelet on the scanner.

Jess and Irene are confused about what's happening so they shot Chelsea a questioning look but the latter is also clueless. They watched as Lavalee walked like a robot and took a microphone.

"GAME. OVER." She said with authority and intimidation presence while staring in one direction

'Nice move, young lady. But for how long?' a man said from the shadows while looking at the young lady.
