CHAPTER TWENTY THREE

Night fast approached and darkness has already covered the entire surroundings. I decided to go to bed earlier than anyone today.

Victoria made sure she served me my evening meal just on time. I ate out of it the little that I could before taking a quick bath, drew a deep breath then lay on the bed.

"You shouldn't have done that, your Majesty."Victoria suddenly voiced out. She has been silently watching me for a while now.

Sitting upright on the bed, I asked her confusedly. "I should not have some what?"

"You shouldn't have challenged the king. He might--"

"He might do something really bad to me, isn't it?" I quickly cut in on her head.

She nodded in agreement.

"Yes," she said, and then continued. "His Majesty is usually very dangerous, most especially when he is in a bad state of mind. He could do a lot of ruthless things at that point without knowing it." She explained.
