22: FEAR, BELIEF & CONFUSION

Her eyelids fluttered open but in a dull manner. She felt an ache in her head and it made her to scrunch her eyebrows together in discomfort.

"Ouch."

She hissed and used her palm to press her forehead as if soothing it.

She slowly sat upright and looked round the house. It took some seconds before everything that happened came rushing back into her mind.

She slowly lowered her hand from her head and her heartbeat skipped.

"Reese..."

She called out her daughter's name in shock and a tear slid out of her right eye. She couldn't even scream anymore. All she did was remain seated in disbelief.

Her daughter was no more...

Reese was no more...

Her mind kept repeating it in her head on and on and it made tears gush out of her eyes. She shivered violently and her heart raced wildly.

She wanted to stand up but she fell pitifully to the ground and a soft whimper left her lips.
