Ray paid the tickets while Treasure basked in the glory of the magnificent theater. She made sure she took in the whole image and stored it in her brain.
"Let's head in Tress, the earlier the better. The movie will begin in less than five minutes." Treasure nodded and walked up to him with her eyes still roaming about.
"Here...have it."
She was brought back to earth when Ray nudged at her gently. She stared at him and let her eyes trailed down to see two packed popcorn in his arms.
"Have it..."
Treasure smiled and gently took one from his hand. The packaging was so unique she kept staring at it. Ray burst out laughing at Treasure's behavior.
"Has anyone ever told you you're hilarious?" Treasure nodded absentmindedly.
"Who?"
"Neil." She blurted his name out with pride, Ray simply stared at her. They walked in silence, passing couples, families and teenagers chatting excitedly.
"What movie are they gonna play?" Ray acted as though he was thinking about it.
"You don't know?" Treasure was surprised and Ray chuckled lightly.
"Of course I do Tress....but I won't tell you."
"Why?"
"Don't wanna spoil the fun."
He guided her to the one they would be entering because there were other movie theaters to choose from.
Sitting at the back, Treasure sighed happily, she really wanted to know what movie would be played and the wide room screamed elegance and perfection....it could fit a thousand people. She brought out her phone and took a picture of the grand cinema.
"You love it right?"
"Of course I do."
"Let me take a picture of you as proof, in case someone doesn't believe you when you tell them." Treasure giggled at Ray's suggestion and agreed to it. He took a picture of her standing with her back facing the entire theater.
"Perfect!"
Ray praised and Treasure came to collect her phone back when someone passed by and mistakenly bumped into her. This landed in Treasure almost falling terribly but Ray caught her on time and she instinctively put her arms round his neck in shock, also pulling Ray to the ground with her.
He fell onto her with wide eyes, even Treasure was shocked at what she did, she quickly tried to get away from him totally embarrassed. If she wasn't brown skinned Ray would have seen her blushing immensely.
"Am sooo sorry, it all happened so fast...I didn't mean to embarrass you....but...I did."
Treasure apologized but Ray didn't mind at all, rather he just grinned. Since they were at the back no one noticed the whole scene.
They sat back quietly and Treasure began to feel awkward so she ate her popcorn hastily.
"Ha haha..." Ray burst out laughing again.
Treasure's hand froze midair with the popcorn as she stared at Ray, confused.
"You look so cute trying to hide your nervosity." Treasure's eyes circled in embarrassment...why does he have to say it out loud, she complained inwardly.
To her relief the movie started and the title boldly read 'HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 4'. Treasure squealed in surprise, she forgot Ray was with her. He laughed heartily again.
"You see why I didn't wanna spoil the fun...your reaction is priceless."
"This is amazing...I really gotta inform Pam so she'd come right now..." Treasure brought out her phone ready to dial Pamela's line but Ray stopped her.
"I did this for you Tress, Pamela won't be able to even get in...she doesn't have a ticket." Treasure made an 'oh' sign with her lips.
"Can't wait to inform her tomorrow." Ray smirked at her but Treasure focused on the movie with undivided attention.
Almost an hour later into the movie Ray silently watched Treasure punch him many times while laughing when they showed something hilarious. He never expected her to be this cute.
She even ran out of popcorn, he had to switch his own with hers without her even realizing it. This was one of Ray's dreams, to admire Treasure without anyone interrupting this great moment.
After almost two hours, the movie finally came to an end leaving Treasure still grinning.
"Thank you so much Ray...I felt so relieved." Ray smiled warmly and they stood up, ready to leave.
-----***-----
They strolled all the way to his car and got in.
"I'm glad you're alright now...we should do this more often." Treasure faced him with a thoughtful expression.
"Next time we should also invite Pam...I don't want her to miss out again."
Such a caring friend, Ray thought silently to himself.
"Tress I really need to tell you something." Treasure's eyebrows lifted and she nodded for him to continue.
"Its concerning P..." Treasure's phone rang and she looked at him apologetically before answering the call.
"Hello....oh hi...am fine..."
Ray heard her replies to the caller happily. Could it be Pamela? Maybe not, because Treasure didn't mention anything about the theater.
"I'll see you tomorrow...bye dear." Treasure ended the call and faced him.
"Sorry..."
"Was that Pamela on the line?" Treasure looked confused but still shook her head.
"Alright...so about what I wanted to tell you..."
"Ray...you can leave it till tomorrow...we can talk more at the cafeteria."
"No...I want to tell you right now." Ray spoke hastily and Treasure narrowed her eyes at him.
"Fine...but at least drop me home first, I don't want my mom worrying to much."
"Sure?"
"Yea sure..."
Ray started the car engine and drove out of the parking lot, from time to time he would peek at her with a complex look.
He looked like he was battling internally. His phone rang in his pocket but he ignored it, it rang again but he didn't pick it.
"Is anything the matter? Aren't you gonna pick it?"
"I don't want any interruptions," came his reply. Treasure narrowed her eyes, he looked really worried as if something was eating him up.
"What's the matter Ray? You sure you're alright?" He whipped his head at her and smiled an enchanting smile.
"Of course I am..."
"Don't lie....you're better than that." Ray froze and the car screeched to a halt, surprising Treasure. He huffed and faced palmed himself.
"I know this might sound absurd to you Treasure but....I really really like you and I don't want any mishap to come between us....P...Pamela-Pamela blackmailed me."
"WHAT!"
Treasure shouted, this was completely absurd...how could Pamela do that. Treasure frowned.
"That can't be true....Pamela don't just hurt people like that..."
"She does...she made me do things I never wanted to do....now she wants to expose me if I don't do what she wants...."
"You're LYING! Pamela can't do such...did you do something to hurt her?!" Treasure suddenly became angry.
"I didn't do anything to her Tress....believe me." Treasure sighed while still staring at Ray.
"When it comes to Pamela I only believe her...I rather hear it from her mouth."
