Chapter 7

~Tori POV~

Three years...

It's been three years since the love of my life slipped through my fingers. The morning I woke up in the Black Fallen pack, I smelled such a fantastic aroma. I followed it out of my room, down the stairs, into the kitchen, and down to the basement. The scent had been the strongest within the basement, but I couldn't find the source. I later found out that Lilliana had been the one that lived in the basement, and this scent was proof enough that she was my mate.

My mate had been right in front of me, yet I had let her go. Long since then I had returned to my kingdom and threw myself into my work. I already had people out searching for her after giving them a piece of cloth that had her scent on it and a description of what she looked like. My parents were worried about me, checking in periodically to make sure I hadn't worked myself to death.

Nothing will stop me, I will find her. When I do there will be no chance for her to escape. I hope to see you soon my love. Just know I will turn over every rock and search every corner of this world till I find you. Wait for me until then...Lilliana.

~Lilliana's POV~

A sneeze made its way from me despite my attempts to hold it back. Groaning and sniffling, I rubbed my nose to make the itch go away. Jayden laughed a bit, "I didn't take you for the type to get hayfever." Glaring at him, I made sure I had no other sneezes lined up in the chamber. "I don't, I bet Candy is talking shit about me though." Jayden grinned and rolled his eyes, "When does she not talk shit about people?"

I nodded in agreeance and stood up grabbing my lunch tray from the table, we walk over and dump the contents into the trash and put the trays in the drop-off area. It's been a couple of weeks since I met Jayden and only three days since I started training with his pack. We began heading outside to the courtyard to catch a breath of fresh air before being thrown back into the cramped rooms, formally known as classrooms.

"Tell me how my ass can be sorer than my legs," I complained, and instead of an answer I just received Jayden laughing at me. Jayden sat down on one of the red benches and grinned at me. "That's simply because every time you spar with me I throw you on your ass." Rolling my eyes I sat down on the bench and began picking at the rubbery paint that was flaking off. "Hey! I'll have you know I've actually improved a lot, thank you very much." I huffed out at him before leaning back.

Jayden smirked, "You have much to learn young padawan," He said while trying to make himself sound older. "You just have a few more years of training on me, but I am catching up. Before long you'll be the one unable to stay off your ass." Glaring at him I gave a playful smirk, he just returned it by narrowing his eyes and grinning. "Want a rematch? Right here? Right now? Because I am so down if you are?" I just laughed, shaking my head, "Nah, I don't want your Alpha getting pissed at us for causing a scene."

Jayden shuddered a bit, "Good point, then again I wouldn't mind if he disciplined me. I could use a good spanking for being such a naughty doggy." He pretended to pant like a dog in heat and I couldn't help the laugh that tore from me as I punched his arm. "Your terrible Jay. Doesn't he have a girlfriend already?" Jayden growled a bit before crossing his arms. "Just an obstacle once he realizes how fake she is, he'll come begging to me on his knees. Just you wait!"

"Oh, will I now?"

Jayden and I let out a small yelp of surprise before slowly turning to see the devil himself watching us amused. "H-hey Alpha, how are you doing?" Jayden stuttered out, I quickly took that time to dip the hell out. "Oh my look at the time, I really should be going now. Math isn't going to solve itself, haha." I then took off sprinting to the door slipping inside right as I heard Jayden screaming at me for my betrayal.

Sorry Jayden, I love my ass too much to have it kicked because of your big mouth. I headed off to math wondering what type of music I should play at Jayden's funeral. Fixing the strap to my bag, I had it sit more comfortably on my shoulder. I was distracted by my thoughts, that I soon ran into somebody. I glance down at the girl I had just knocked over and bent down to help her up, "Hey are you okay? Sorry I wasn't watching where I was going. You're not hurt are you?"

The girl looked up at me and my breath caught in my throat. She had brown hair that was in a french braid with two curly strands framing her face. She had a cute button nose, porcelain skin, and rose-tinted lips. I helped her up, and noticed her hand was cold to the touch, strange.

The girl's eyes were a grey color as she looked up at me, she soon smiled a bit. "Yeah, I'm okay. I was lost and wandering around so it's a bit of my fault too. My name is Arilla, nice to meet you." Her voice was soft and quiet, yet I could detect a British accent. "You're fine, so are you new here?" I asked as I racked my brain for faces and names that matched hers, but in the end, nothing came up. She nodded, the curls framing her face bouncing with the motion. "Yeah, I just moved here with my family a few days ago."

The bell soon rang, signaling it was time for class. I looked at Arilla and smiled, "Follow me, I'll take you to your class." She smiled gratefully telling me. She had Math with Mr. Jonas. Luckily we were heading in the same direction, so it took little to no time at all. I took the time to talk to Arilla during class, and in the end, we swapped numbers. I don't know why but Kairi was having a hard time trying to figure out what the girl was. So far we both agreed she was a nice person. We'll just have to keep a close eye on her for now, though she doesn't smell evil or anything.

Still, I can't shake this uncomfortable feeling when around her. I'll just ask Jayden about it later and see what he says. If he says nothing is wrong then I'll befriend her, if he feels something is up, I'll distance myself and watch from afar. Caution is my main priority right now, I can't afford to slip up even for a second. Still, it would be nice if I could be friends with Arilla, I guess only time can tell for right now.
