168. To remain forever

After spending some time in the garden and talking mostly about flowers, Derek and Rory came back to the mansion just in time for morning tea.

"I was going to bring your tea to you at the swing." Mrs Macy smiled when she saw both enter the main hall. "You can have a seat at the table while I bring it." She quickly walked back to the kitchen before they could say a word.

Derek silently made his way to the dining table, followed closely by Rory. She wanted to go to the kitchen to help Mrs Macy with the tea but soon she appeared with a tray.

When she served Derek, Rory noticed she didn't add any sugar or cream to his tea. But Mrs Macy already knew how Rory liked her tea, so she loaded it with a lot of cream and a teaspoon of sugar.

"You like your tea raw like that?" Rory grimaced a little, looking at the tea cup in front of him and then back to his face. Derek smiled.

"Yes, I've become used to this. But it doesn't mean I don't like sugar or milk."
