Chapter 12: In this world, feelings are the least susceptible to force!

Quiet.

Deadly silent.

After being pushed away by Gu Siting without any tenderness, Ming Wan felt a surge of shame and annoyance inside. Unexpectedly, when she looked up, she saw Ming Yao under the bed.

Her mind spun rapidly.

Why was Ming Yao here? And hiding under the bed?

Taking into account Gu Siting's expression just now, it was clear he had no idea that Ming Yao was there.

The dim light in Ming Wan's eyes suddenly brightened.

It didn't matter that Fourth Master didn't like her now; once he divorced Ming Yao, she would have plenty of opportunities to seduce him.

Ming Wan shakily stood up from the ground and looked at the man about to enter the walk-in closet, her voice soft, "Brother-in-law, my sister is actually under your bed."

The man's tall figure stiffened.

He turned back and glanced under the bed.

Ming Yao knew she couldn't hide any longer, quickly stuffed the man's shirt into her bag, and crawled out from under the bed with the chubby cat that had snuggled into her arms and refused to leave.

Seeing Ming Yao, Gu Siting's handsome face grew even darker and more forbidding.

Compared to his dislike for Ming Wan, he clearly loathed Ming Yao even more.

His deep black eyes were like a sea blanketed by dark clouds, a storm imminent.

Steward Zhong saw Ming Yao, the corner of his eye twitched, and cold sweat dripped down his forehead.

When had Mrs. Gu come over? He hadn't known at all?

Steward Zhong felt his retirement was not far off!

The caught Ming Yao, however, didn't seem the least bit nervous.

She brushed aside the black hair from her cheeks, her eyes brimming with laughter, "Why are you all looking at me like this? Is it strange for me to be here?"

If it were Mrs. Gu, who was in a loving relationship with Fourth Master Gu, her presence wouldn't be strange at all.

The thing was, since getting married, Ming Yao had never lived here, and her relationship with Fourth Master Gu had always been like fire and water.

Ming Wan looked at Ming Yao with her makeup removed and her long hair straightened, her stunningly coquettish appearance made Ming Wan grind her teeth in envy.

Ming Wan thought herself quite attractive and held the title of 'pure beauty' in the entertainment industry.

However, standing next to Ming Yao, she not only failed to overshadow her but even seemed somewhat bland.

It was she who had secretly arranged for Xiao Yixuan to approach Ming Yao. With just a little scheming, Ming Yao was moved and fell for him.

Ming Yao had promised Xiao Yixuan that she would never appear in public without makeup, so why had she changed?

Ming Wan knew now was not the time to question whether Ming Yao was wearing makeup or not. She spoke in a soft and tender voice, "Sister, that's Little Snowball in your arms, right? You should let it go; it might bite you!"

The Gu family knew that although Little Snowball appeared tame, its temperament was anything but gentle.

Apart from Fourth Master, it would puff up its fur at anyone else who came close.

The last time Ming Wan tried to win favour with Fourth Master by ingratiating herself with his beloved cat, it had scratched her the moment she got close.

Ming Yao glanced at the chubby cat snoozing in her arms and lazily curled her lips, "Little sister, I suggest you see an ophthalmologist if you have vision problems. Meatball is clearly so adorable, how does he look like he would bite anyone?"

Little Snowball, upon hearing its new name Meatball, protested with a 'meow' in a milk-like voice.

But the next second, after Ming Yao patted its head, it settled back into her arms.

Ming Wan, "..."

Steward Zhong, "..."

Ming Wan looked at Ming Yao, who caressed Snowball's head carelessly, and felt that Ming Yao had somehow changed from before.

Exactly where she had changed, she couldn't quite pinpoint.

But one thing was for sure—Ming Yao seemed out of her control!

Ming Wan bit her lip, changed the subject, and spoke softly, "Sister, mom and dad are worried because you insist on divorcing your husband. They always talk about you for your own good; after you get a divorce, they are still willing to accept you!"

As she spoke, Ming Wan looked pitifully at Gu Siting, "Brother-in-law, you shouldn't blame my sister. In this world, love is something you can't force!"

Gu Siting didn't speak, his lips pressed into a tight, cold line. He glanced at Little Snowball, which was usually 'keep away from strangers,' and saw it nestled obediently in Ming Yao's arms, his brows almost imperceptibly furrowing.
