CHAPTER 47: NIGHTMARE

Something warm was placed on her shoulder, Ryan had placed his jacket on her and it felt warm and comfortable. She smiled at him as a gesture of thank you and they walked back to the car passing the beautiful lines of candles. Mia looked at the beautiful scenery again and wanted to stay longer but knew it was late,just a few minutes before midnight. She felt relaxed after Ryan took her to dinner and brought her to the meadow.

The way Ryan behaved sweetly with her made her feel nostalgic as it felt like she had known him before. They walked along side each other getting to the car with the driver opening the Bak seat and they both got in. Mia closed her eyes enjoying the warm feeling if Ryan jacket on her.

Ryan in the other hand smiled as he stared at her peaceful face. He felt proud that he had at least made her lively,he knew how much she had gone through and didn't want her to feel down. Soon she would get what truly belongs to her and now all her worries has subsided. It was almost midnight when they reached the mansion. Ryan was pushed the door opened for both of them to enter when mis suddenly stopped in her steps and turned to face him.

"thank you"she says

"for what?"Ryan asked

"for everything, everything you've done for me I'm really grateful"her voice was filled with sincerity and for a while Ryan didn't no what to say.

"it was nothing"Ryan simply said and he saw how Mia smiled sweetly at him,he couldn't help but think how good she looks when she smiled like that.Mia raised her toe as she gave him a kiss on the cheek taking Ryan by surprise.

Mia was also surprised by what she just did and she ran upstairs with a blush on her face and she hoped Ryan didn't see her like that otherwise it would have been embarrassing. She wasted no time in entering her room. Slumping on her bed she closed her eyes "what was she thinking?"

"oh God why did I do I wonder what he must think of me now"

"no Mia don't get to attracted to him, remember it's a contract and it's only a matter of days before it's over" she sighed with her thoughts all over the place,this was a feeling she wasn't used to. She remembered kissing him twice in her drunken state and she didn't it again even when she was in her right mind only that she kissed him on the cheek.

A groan escaped her throat and she unconsciously brought his jacket up to her nose ,his scent still resides on the jacket even when she put the jacket away ,the scent still lingered in her nose

Ryan looked at at the retreating figure as she ran upstairs,he could tell she was being shy. He also wasn't expecting her to kiss him like that. A feeling developed in him that he couldn't describe but he wanted to ignore it.

He was glad that Mia was a little better

He turned to leave when he saw his grandfather approaching him. Ryan didn't avoid him and watched as the old man walked towards him with his stick in is hand. It was a rare sight to see someone who is as old as him staying this late. Ryan wasn't surprised after all he had once had a lot on his shoulder so it's not a surprising thing to see his grandfather staying up late.

"i can see you had a great time"grandpa said with a smile directed at his grandson. Ryan knew what that smile meant.

The light on the mansion soon got dim,the dark sky got darker as dark clouds gathered together blocking the moon entirely,it was just 12:15am Ryan was in his study with documents on both his left and right side. He looked at the side and looked through the window noticing that it's going to be stormy night. He could hear the wind whistling while drops of rain fell from the sky. He got up to sleep when he heard the thunder clap from a distance. He was already in his might wear and layer on his bed while staring at the ceiling and the down pour began while he closed his eyes.

Mia felt herself being pulled to another world,her head was bandaged, finding herself in a little girls body, she was at the hospital and looked around confused. She noticed through the clock that it was late at night. She could feel pain in her head and could guess she shouldn't stress as that would be what the doctor would say

Her eyes moved to stand in front of a mirror and that's when she noticed that her head wasn't properly bandaged.

Mia yelped when the lights began to shake going on her off accompany with a loud clap of thunder that scared her to the core when someone said

"why are you out! go back we need to treat your wound"a nurse held her to pull her back to the ward when a bunch of people passed by her,they were pulling a stretcher and she noticed someone familiar in it with his eyes closed.

"dad"she called in her tiny voice pulling her hand from the nurse's grip as she ran after the stretcher. With her small feet and weak body she didn't easily catch up and by the time she got there , standing in front of the ICU ,Mia peeped through the door with tears in her eyes her head was starting to hurt badly and by the time she peeped in the room again, she saw her dad laying there lifeless and her mind wondered of to how everything happened while slowly walking away from the ICU with tears in her eyes. She held both sides of her head and whined in pain and noticed a boy walking up to her when everything began to fade and the pain in her head became unbearable and she couldn't hear anything.

"brother!come quick!"Lucy called holding Mia who was holding her head and and shaking violently,she couldn't open her eyes and Lucy saw that she was in pain.

Ryan soon arrived in her room and could see Mia shaking violently he held her in his arms closely as he tried calming her down. She was shaking violently and Ryan could tell that she must have had a nightmare. No one was home except him ,Lucy and Mia.

she hadn't woke up early that morning and he didn't want to disturb her since they had arrived late. He had told Lucy to come check on her when the former called to him

"call the doctor" he said to Lucy who wasted no time in going out to call the doctor. The entire time he kept her close to him while he comforted her,he noticed that she was in pain and also had a very high fever. He later her down properly on the bed while Mia just held him close as if not wanting him to leave. Her eyes had swollen due to tears streaming out of her eyes. When he moved her grip on him tightened and saw she was saying something

"don't go...- please don't"he heard her whisper and he stayed close to her until the doctor would arrive.
