CHAPTER 56: MEMORIES

"what's this?"she asked a little surprised,her es looking at Ryan with questions. He handed her another file,some of the files he had been giving had to do with the contract,her company or mum's medical reports. She had two thoughts at the moment,it could either be a project file or something else.

"read it and you'll see"Ryan replied softly

She brought out the file from the envelope,her eye moved to look at Ryan before opening the file , scanning the file,she felt her heart beat harder against her chest. She couldn't believe what she saw ,a smile came to settle her.

"I'm not dreaming right"she breathed out a tear escaping her eyes,she felt something warm on her cheek. Ryan wiped the tear away from her cheek . She threw her arms around him ,his hand was placed on her waist as he hugged her back"thank you"he heard her whisper.

Her tears are threatening to escape but she held them back.

"come down for breakfast"Ryan said after the hug before leaving her room. Mia stood rooted to the spot as she continued to stare at the file In her hand. She sat on her bed ,with a big smile on her lips,it felt like it was just yesterday when she lost everything,when her mum ended up in an hospital,her leukemia treatment,the contract with Ryan and even the nightmare she had been having. Everything was fast ,her mind was all over the place ,she wished her mum was there had the moment.

It was a big surprise for her,things were going to be different. She got what she wanted ,now at the moment she wants to get things done as soon as possible. Her thumb ran across the the file on her hand.Her mind went through everything that has happened to her so far,it felt like a dream.

She took out her phone and going to the calendar"three days" only a matter of three days before the contract would be over, she would be free,she won't have any favors to pay ,her mum would come back,the woman would leave a good life. Mia was determined to make sure of that. Both her and Ryan fulfilled their part of the contract and in three days,the contract would be over. Mia sighed going downstairs to join Ryan for breakfast. Lucy had gone to her parents as Ryan had sent her there since the parents were worries about her

She sat the luxury dining room which she had always been eating all the whole. They had their breakfast the cutleries making noises in the room.

She opened the door before hopping inside,Ryan at the driver's seat started the car before driving off,be didn't tell her where they both were going and she didn't ask knowing it might involve her. The drive was long and it wasn't the way to Ryan's company either,he took the long route to avoid the traffic and might most definitely take their time.

From a distance,she could see the tall building,her heart skipped waiting to see. It got closer and she got a clear view of it, a familiar building that hasn't changed over the years. "when was the last time she came here?" she could remember the exact period but there was a nostalgic feeling when she saw that building. The car halted

"are you okay?"Ryan asked as she snapped her head towards him before nodding. He scanned her expression for a while before .

She stared at the massive sky scrapper building much like Ryan's own

"let's go"he said to her and her feet began to move along with his. Staffs were running around and a few people that came to do a few changes of the company,she would be the sole owner of this company. Ryan took her to explore the place , something she was grateful, otherwise she would have gotten lost considering how long it's been since she's been year. The little her would always run around the place having the staffs to look for her . It didn't take long for her to know that entire company inside out.

Now that she's here again,it felt like she had forgotten everything,a small smile graced her lips. The staffs got familiar with their new CEO . Ryan would help her with a few things before the contract would be over. She sighed ,sure she would miss the fun times she spent with them .

"thank you"she whispered,Ryan steed at her but didn't say anything. They spent about two hours, Ryan helping her get familiar with what needs to be done. With Mia's knowledge and experience in terms of business,it wasn't hard for her to know everything.

"you go ahead,I have to go to Hannah's"Mia said to which Ryan nodded after making sure that she got into a cab safely.

"ding ding"Mia rang the doorbell hoping Hannah was home . A click was heard with Hannah surprised but glad at Mia's presence. She smiled in delight welcoming Mia inside.

The two friends chatted during the time,it felt like it's been forever since they chatted like this. Mia almost choked on her drink due to laughter,for that moment,she forgot everything that happened and took in the time she spent with her best friend.

Hannah kept on telling her about everything that she had missed,some which are funny. Laughter filled the room .
