CHAPTER 58: WOULD YOU GO

One hand that was holding the knife chopped the vegetables with ease. She was hungry,at the same time wanting to spend a long time in the kitchen. They had moved from their hold house a month before,the place was comfortable and not extravagant as some would want it to be.The kitchen was well built and furnished as the vegetables and fruits lie in front of her ready to be chopped.

The knife went through the green vegetables on the the board, cutting them in little pieces,her hard work paid off,there were difficulties along the way but that didn't stop her at all .

A sigh left her lips when she finished the first batch of vegetables. She went ahead to take the apple before chopping it also. It reminded her of the times she cooks at the mansion. Her mum wasn't home ,that leaves her all alone in the house. There wasn't any work to be done,a little rest was all she needed at the moment.

Her took the fruit salad she had prepared before heading towards the living room along with others snacks in her hands. Sitting on the couch,she turned on the television which header straight to the news channel displaying the journalist doing the talking. But she didn't waste time in taking it away seeing that it was nothing useful. She now relaxed watching a documentary about animals. There was nothing fun to look at so she might as well watch some documentary. she watched as the host explained how different animals adapt to the environment as well as protect themselves from predators.

"imagine humans could adapt like this"she thought with a giggle.

Her attention was completely focused on the tv that she didn't notice when the snacks she had been eating reduced to nothing.

"great"she whispered as she sank in the couch . Her eyes moved around as if trying to see if someone was home ,but she knew that's not the case. it was very quiet,the soup d that came from the tv was the only thing that somewhat made the house lively but it wasnt the same with people around.

She suddenly sprang up from the couch, running upstairs with her feet making noise against the cold floor. She stepped into her room before going to her closet and putting on a short jean skirt with a blue top before putting on a long jacket that was longer than the skirt itself. Turning in front of the mirror,she made sure the skirt wasn't too short to avoid unnecessary attention and trouble.

She hailed the can once she got to the road. Mia was used to taking cabs but she did purchase a car for her mum which the woman rarely use. She knew she might have to one day but as of the moment she didn't feel like .

Her eyes darted to the streets while the driver focused on the road. He soon stopped as Mia had asked him before going on foot. Her hands in the pockets off her jacket while walking down the road.

"ding dong"she looked down

"ding dong"she rang the bell again patiently waiting for response when the door clicked open and Mia was met with a pair of eyes that was filled with happiness. Hannah pulled her in without thought,she almost stumbled as Hannah pulled her without notice.

Mia was pulled into a tight hug that she almost couldn't breathe.

"so what brings you here!" Hannah finally said putting the piece if chips in her mouth.

"I don't think I need a reason to come here"Mia raised a brow at Hannah who pouted at her.

"come sit "

Mia let out a breath before taking her sit right beside Hannah and placing her head in the latter lap taking her by surprise not that she minded at all.

Hannah wanted to ask something with her eyes looking at Mia time to time.

"what about Ryan,have you heard from him?" she asked. Mia stilled, hearing her question before shaking her head.

"it's been a long time"her reply was less of a statement and more of a question that she seemed to want Hannah to answer.

"a month isn't that long"Hannah replied softly to see Mia give a smile.

"I bet you wish to see him"Hannah teased

"I'm not so sure about that" Mia at her her brow as she was in deep thought. she felt Hannah move before a sound filled the room

"the annual ceremony of the Garcia's corporation is fast approaching,it's just a few days before the event commence"Mia beard as she sat up looking at the screen

"of course,the staffs, celebrities and business men would be present there at the ceremony, ,lots of influential personalities would be present at the annual ceremony. The ceremony is also going to be held to celebrate Garcia's recent success.

"wow,so there's going to be a party"Hannah said

"would you go"she stared at Mia with curiosity

"not sure I'm not fond of going to places uninvited"Mia replied

"you know... I see the news earlier today, you are achieving lots of success I'm so proud"Hannah beamd pulling Mia into a tight hug.

"o-okay..t..that enough"Mia said with shaky breath before Hannah released her.

Mia gave a tight smile while still trying to breathe properly, Hannah could have almost killed her.

~THE NEXT DAY AT THE GARCIA'S CORP~

"how did it go?"His deep voice was heard 8n the vast room,his eyes scanning through the documents with ears waiting to listen to someone. Silence filled there for a moment and he could here a chuckle from the person and his gaze shifted to Jason direction who composes himself seeing his brother's fierce look.

"there weren't do hard to take care off after falling into our trap"he simply said, sitting up straight.

"it would me more fun if they were tougher,it was so easy"he added which Ryan nodded

"how's the preparation for the ceremony going?"Ryan spoke

"Matt is handling everything"Jason stare at his brother who was focused on his work.

He opened his mouth only to close it again.

"speak"ryan noticed from the corner of his eyes Jason's body language. He could immediately tell he wanted to say something.

"will you invite sister in law?"jason tried to stop talking but he had already spoken. Even after finding out about the contract,he still considers Mia as his sister. They were compatible (Ryan and Mia) ,there was fun times when she was around. Only if the relationship was not a contracted one,things could be different. He hadn't seen his brother with any other woman apart from Mia

"yes "Ryan said . He knew her bug interest in game but never knew she had equal interest in architecture otherwise he would have given her with go test her abilities before. She had mature rapidly and slowly will come to know the business world fully

"get me the invitation"he added.

Lucy along with her parents would come to the ceremony,maybe it would be the perfect time to for his little cousin to find out.
