CHAPTER 73: ONE'S WISH

Soon it was evening and as expected the clouds slowly turned dark with the storm clouds contributing to it's darkness,the rain was threatening to fall. The wind intensity slowly increased, carrying dust from the ground and faint thunder claps could be heard from a distance .

Mia entered her room before closing the door behind her that made a click sound as soon as she closed it. She headed for the bathroom where she walked up to the sink before staring at the wound on her right wrist.

Earlier before she reached home,mia was walking by the side of the road where she reached a place that had glass pieces on the floor ' someone should really get of these 'she thought to herself while at the same time being careful not to step on it. She didn't want to end her little walk with an injured leg,she wouldn't be able to walk back home in that state.

But then she saw the cause of the little disaster on the road. On her left was store that had both glass windows and doors,it was a big store and someone had decided to break the door and windows probably from inside the store as the glass pieces fell on the side of the road while some remained in.Mia noticed a few people inside that were inspecting the place .At the same time,a car rushed towards her in full speed, instinctively she moved before the car could hit her but it had Mia miss her footing so she fell to the side where her right wrist picked up a glass piece.

Mia hissed at the sharp pain,she immediately stood up there was no clinic nearby and she was almost home,she sighed staring at the wound, there wasn't anyone near to notice she fell or the wound on her hand. Taking out her handkerchief,she used it to stop the bleeding whilst trying not to apply pressure to avoid pushing the glass further into her skin. And as much as she tried not to think about it,mia was careful not to injure her leg but her hand paid the price.

She looked at the direction the car went but it has already gone far out of sight. Right now,if only she could,mia wanted to destroy the car beyond repair.

Staring at the wound for a second ,her left hand reached before she immediately pulled it out. Mia closed her eyes, blood rushing from her wrist,she turned the faucet of the tap allowing the water to wash off the dry blood and the one that was beginning to rush out,the water in the sink red before it moved down the drain.

After applying first aid and covering it up with a bandage,mia changed into fresh clothes before throwing herself on her bed. She stared at the ceiling for a while before her lids turned heavy as her eyes closed. Mia turned to sleep on her side with her breathing soft.

The wind outside continued to increase the atmosphere turned cold, little dust moved in the air along with dried leaves that fell from trees. What started as tiny drops of water increased to heavy rain drops that fell from the sky before hitting the ground that was quick ti turn wet. It wasn't late in the night yet but it looked like the day had ended and everyone outdoor activities had to be paused

Mia snapped her eyes open at the sound of the loud thunder clap that startled her awake. She sighed,glad that all the windows are closed but the whistling of the wind could still be heard and the heavy rain drops didn't fail to reach her ears.

The girl headed for the kitchen to get herself something hot to drink.

After a while she walked outside with a cup of hot tea I. her hand before going back to her room where she sat behind a desk that was at the other side of the room. Carefully sipping the drink,mia relaxed against the chair taking sips until the cup was empty of liquid.

AT THE GARCIA'S MANSION.

In one of the many rooms, drops of water fell on the surface of the window as the rain continued to fall nonstop. Lightening flashed ftoma distance,reflecting on the window and the sound of thunder was soon to follow it.Ryan sat by the edge, staring at the water drops that rested on the window surface before moving downward.

His eyes followed the water drops that continued to move downwards as of it were on a race and he was waiting to see which drop would get to it's destination first. He saw how one of the drops moved to collide with another that was soon to go down. But what he was looking at was in contrast to what he was thinking.

The door opened and he saw it to be Jason before shifting his attention back to the window.

Jason on the other hand felt the cold wind from outside and he noticed the window his brother was sitting by was closed but the other one in the room was slightly ajar.

"I know you are different in some ways but isn't the cold bothering you?" Jason questioned

"I suppose you should be in bed by now" runa shifted his attention back to his brother who made himself comfortable by sitting in the couch. Right now,both the brothers were at the study room.

"it's too early to sleep brother" replied Jason. He knew he didn't have to tell his brother that girl the man to be aware of what time it is ,he then added "grandpa would be leaving tomorrow morning"

"I know" came Ryan's reply. The old man was bound to leave sooner or later as he had only come for a short while, not Ryan nor Jason can stop him from coming or leaving,it was his choice and he had his own lavish mansion to attend to.

"you are going to have to fulfill his wish sooner or later " Jason said thoughtfully.

"what grandpa wants applies to the both of us"he turned where his back was now facing the window"unless you decide to claim we are not of the same blood "

"youa re the eldest,it's only right you are the one he one he pesters the most,you should get married to Mia " came Jason suggestion.

When Jason had left his room to go to the study,it wasn't with the intention to have this kind of conversation with his brother, infact he didn't know ryan was there in the first place.

"you have my blessings and Lucy's and gran..." before he could complete his sentence he felt the hard cover of a book hit the back of his head
