CHAPTER 89: SHORT

Mia turned her head , facing the direction of the window where the curtain has been drawn. she fluttered her eyes open, trying to adjust to the light that penetrated through the curtain.

Once completely asked mia felt she was resting on something hard yet comfortable at the same time. She turned her head for her eyes to fall on the peaceful face of Ryan who slept. Her chin rested in his chest while she continued to stare at him. Their position had changed compared to how she remembered and now with the upper part of her body resting on Ryan ,the remaining part resting on the soft bed.

His hand was on her lower back as if holding her in place ,not wanting her to move. Mia pushed herself up, such that she now brought her face closer to Ryan's who seems unaware of what she was doing .

Mia scanned his every features, trying to take note of every little detail not wanting to forget them. She couldn't believe how lucky she was with this man by her side. Mia felt herself lean in to kiss him on the side if his lip when he opened his eyes to catch her just in time.

"Good morning"he greeted with a smile

"You have to stop waking up on me like that "mia lightly scolded not liking the little interruption,he had done this the last time to.

"I think I can wake up whenever I want" he replied with a smile "what are you doing?"

Mia pouted her lips then replied "nothing" in Ryan's eyes she looked cute and he couldn't help but raise his hand to pinch her cheek,he said "no need to stop what you were planning to do" as if encouraging her.

"I'm hungry "mia said ready to get out of the bed but Ryan held her down by placing hi hand on her back, pressing her against his chest and it made it difficult for her to escape from his hold

"I'm not ready to let you leave" the man said "if you want to show me your affection,you might as well do it now rather than running away".

Mia bit her lower lip then leaned to kiss him on the side of his lip. pulling away only to lean in again to kiss him on his lips.Ryan let out a light chuckle, enjoying the kisses she peppered him. Mia smiles widely, bring her lips close to his but this time instead of pulling away she sucked on his lips and it elicted a grain from Ryan who weaved his fingers through her soft hair.

"Satisfied?"mia asked but heard Ryan reply with"no,but I can manage".

Mia shook her head, feeling Ryan's hold on her loosen,she was about to get up to leave when Ryan said "let's stay like this for a while" he requested but he didn't hold her down as if giving her an option.

Mia nodded,she rested her head on his hard chest that felt comfortable and at the same time,made her feel safe and secure. She asked him"did you sleep well?".

Both had slept late at night but she could tell it wasn't that late in the morning. Usually she could sleep later in the day but Ryan wasn't like that,she remembered what he told her last night. Being able to take responsibility from a young aga wasn't easy, yet he was here unaffected by what the responsibility brought but it didn't change the worry she felt.

Ryan hummed and asked her back"did you?" feeling her nod against his chest,he let out a satisfied smile "when was the last time you came here?" Mia asked after a pause.

"Last year but I can't tell you exactly when "Ryan replied to her and that moment mia raised her head,her eyes met with his dark black ones.

"Has anyone else ever been here apart from you..I mean..."her words were caught off by Ryan short chuckle that had her frown and she could only assume he knew what she wanted to ask. Mia felt it was childish of her to think that,but one couldn't help the thoughts that came through the mind.

Ryan played with her hair "no, apart from me and Jason and few family members no one else has been here". 

Mia smiled then she leaned in to kiss on his lips with a faint blush appearing on her cheeks.

Ryan's phone rang interrupting them,when he answered it,a few seconds passed when the expression on his face changed to serious one and it didn't go unnoticed who questioned what happened.

Mia opened her mouth to ask what happened but Ryan beat her to it "seems our little vacation needs to be cut short"

"Was that Jason?" she questioned as that was the only thing that had come up in her mind. Seeing Ryan nod ,the woman sighed"there's something that needs my attention back home".

Mia nodded "I'll go shower first "with that she stood up and went straight to have her bath leaving Ryan who watched her close the door behind her.

Later that morning when the car stopped in front of the Garcia's mansion. Before they could come out mia held Ryan's hand and asked "is everything alright?". His mood had turned dark since he received the call from Jason and it worried her,she didn't what was running through his head,it was hard especially since he hasn't told her anything.

"Everything is fine, I don't want you to worry"Ryan said in order to make the woman feel better.

As they made their way inside the huge building,with their hands intertwined . Jason came from the other side and met them halfway,he said "I thought you would be coming later than this since you had sister-in-law with you"

Ryan ignored his words then asked "where is he?" he didn't want to beat around the bush. Mia looked between the two brothers wondering who is this 'he'.

"In the living ,he's been waiting for you"Jason replied to him before his eyes fell on Mia ,he gave her a small smile and she returned it . She was hoping either if them would fill her in on what was going on.

Ryan gently tugged her as they went inside the living room with Jason two steps ahead. Mia wanted to ask about it but then she reframed from saying anything,Ryan was going to tell her later and she didn't want to pressure him to. 

"There's my wonderful nephew, although I had expected to meet you home that way I wouldn't have to wait" a man's strong voice broke her out of her thoughts
