CHAPTER 90: SOMEONE SPECIAL

AN HOUR AGO

In one of the many areas in the city,, slightly far from the public.A building stood deserted as one could tell from the outer structure. Some of the windows were shattered,covered in dust and cobwebs . The paintings on the walls dull and peeled,with black dust on some part of the area.

The lack of people allowed the footsteps to resonate across the walls. The air outside was allowed to let in, carrying the papers that were lying on the floor. Torn and burnt papers scattered ok the ground and amist the silence that filled the entire place,the sounds of footsteps continued. Charles casually walked on the tiled floor passing by some of the open doors if the room without bothering to enter it.

Stepping into a room with double doors,it was where the documents were placed . Most of them burnt with she's laying around,some where were not clear to read and others were barely in Good shape

Many years ago the hospital was famous for best doctors in the city , offering the best treatment there is while making sure their patients were treated well. But everything changed when it suddenly caught fire, destroying many properties and lives with a few people barely escaping.

The fire had caused the hospital many loss resulting in it being abandoned and deserted for years. The things in there weren't intact and that includes the files that now flew around. Charles walked towards the desk that were dusty with papers.His hands gently shifting them as he looked for something.

His stern eyes remained fix on the desk until he finally stopped at one particular document,the edge burnt but it didn't delete the contents he wanted to see. 

Being here for a few days, Charles hadn't gone to his nephew but he was sure to go there today and wasn't going to waste time with it.With the tip of his fingers dirty from the black dust,he rubbed them against each other.

Later,he went to the mansion where he walked in without notice. He looked around the place,the place where he hadn't been for a long time and at that thought he smiled to himself. In that moment Jason appeared from the other side before pausing in his footsteps "uncle...what are you...?

"I don't think I need an invitation to come do i?" the man said to him before adding"after all I came here to visit my family "

Jason closed his eyes"i didn't mean that,I just wasn't expecting you would come visit" he didn't know the kind of emotion he should be feeling right at that moment. At one point he had prepared his mind that the man could be arriving any time but yet he felt it to be too sudden.

Charles took his seat, making himself comfortable "this place seems more quiet,is your brother home? And where is Lucy?" 

Jason had been preparing to go out after Lucy had left that morning,he didn't mind being the only one on the mansion but he was assisting Hannah with her new boutique plans but it seems he would have to stay home for a while longer. He replied"both aren't at home, brother left since yesterday and Lucy had somewhere to be"

Charles nodded as if noting something in his mind,he pointed out"you looked like you were about to leave "

"You are here to visit,it wouldn't be right to leave and also I'm in no rush" Jason politely replied to him.

"Hm why don't you call your brother over here,tell him about my arrival,I wouldn't want to come here only to leave without seeing him "saying this, the man relaxed against his seat. Jason could tell the man had come here solely to see his brother but he didn't comment on it but instead left to call Ryan.

Currently as everyone now stood in the living room,mia could feel the air turn tense,gone was the loving man she had spent her time with. This was Ryan's uncle ,she could tell he didn't have a good relationship with the man but the question was why 

"then I shouldn't be expecting anything less" Ryan replied to him.

The man's eyes fell on Mia who stood like a pet clutching to ist master with Ryan's hand holding hers,she didn't know how to react but only give a small bow

"the last time I checked,you didn't have a girl by your side ,who is this one?" 

"I'm Mia Albert... Ryan's girlfriend it's nice to meet you " mia spoke before Ryan could say anything. The man was Ryan family it wouldn't be right if Ryan did all the talking while she stood on that side and watch. Jason on the other hand leaned against the railing if the stairs watching the people in front him.

"Hm ,I figured...how do I know you are fit to be ..."the said only to be interrupted by Ryan who coldly remarked "what are you doing here ,Lucy isn't home"

"I don't need to explain that ".

Mia didn't know what was going on,but she felt uncomfortable,all the family members of Ryan she met liked her and share a good relationship with both her and Ryan but it seems this one was different. As if sensing her discomfort,he turned to her "wait for me in my room,I'll be there in a few minutes"

Mia didn't argue with him and left the place passing by Jason who soon followed her behind leaving the two men to talk to each other.

Upstairs Jason caught up with mia who immediately asked "does Ryan not like his uncle?"

"That's a great question I was hoping you wouldn't ask" Jason said as if disappointed then added"something like that,Ryan hasn't liked him since a young age"

The revelation made mia furrow her brows"why?" 

Jason shook his head then replied "I think it would be best if you ask him although I'm not very fund of uncle either but Ryan tried to tolerate him since he's Lucy's father"

"does Lucy know about this?" Mia asked him,there were a lot of things for her to catch up on 

Back in the room , Charles stated" I see you have another person in your life,mind telling me more since you decided to send away just a few seconds after I've only met her "

"You already know her name, that's should be enough introduction now you have to go straight to the point " Ryan firmly stated with a straight face.

"So protective...I'm sure you are already informed but if you need me to elaborate I gladly will" Charles crossed his legs leaning forward with a look of malice that now stared at Ryan's dangerous ones "if you ask me I don't think you are the sole hair to the Garcia's inheritance"

"But you think you are, grandpa has already transferred what is needed in my name,there are no further discussion on that"

"Yes and that was the most stupid thing he has ever done in his life"Charles said the look with in his eyes hardened

Ryan replied with "how about you spend the rest of your life in peace and stay out of my tail*. He lightly warned but Charles wasn't ready to take it,he stood up on his feet taking two steps forward then said"being the first child I am supposed to be the true heir but instead my rights were snatched from me and was given to your father instead "

"Grandpa probably saw how incompetent and power hungry you are ,be grateful he spared you some rights" 

Charles stated at his nephew for a while,the boy had cleverly invade every obstacle he constantly threw at him and it irked him making him furious. Ryan was smart ,no one knew what goes on in that brain of his "you already have someone special in your life,what if..."before he could complete his sentence Ryan said in a deadly tone "DON'T YOU DARE"placing emphasis on every word he warned his uncle

"I don't have plans to touch her not yet,but I'm sure you don't want anything to happen to her" Charles gave a sinister smile,he was an evident psycho.

"You'd really stoop this low"Ryan stated as it was the truth,he didn't word of confirmation for it

Charles walked past him "I won't harm her ,as long as you what I asked".

Ryan narrowed his eyes,he cared about his family but not this particular one. Lucy was his cousin and his child but it didn't mean Ryan was going to sacrifice his love because of it,he knew he would have to do something about his as soon as possible. Previously,he had tried to maintain the peace despite his dislike towards his uncle but there was nothing to maintain not when his uncle was going to any lengths to get what he wants
