CHAPTER 110: BACK FROM SLUMBER

Mia was made to sit up while the doctor checked up on her. She didn't say anything while taking sips from the water in berr hand as her throat felt dry. Everything that happened came flooding in from the moment she woke up and the woman didn't know how to react or if she should cry or not. She was told Ryan was fine and it was enough to have her heave a sigh of relief but she still wanted to see him.

The room now has more people than before, when Hannah called Jason,the latter was with Lucy and Alex and the trio were the first Perons to arrive back in the mansion followed by the doctor who now said "make sure she gets a lot of rest and doesn't stress herself out also that she takes care of her wound,in case...". The rest of the doctor's words,mia didn't pay any attention to it as hed hand subconsciously went to touch the side of her stomach. What if worse had happened?what if she had died? What would Ryan do?. Mia was grateful she was here right now breathing,she didn't want to bring anymore pain to her loved ones by suddenly leaving this world .

Her thoughts were Interrupted by her mum who asked "feeling better?" She gently brushed Mia's hair away from her face with evident love dancing in her eyes,mia nodded and didn't say anything. The door was pushed open and it would be a lie to say mia had expected it to be Ryan but it was Hannah instead who walked in with tray of food and glass of orange drink.

"we are sorry you have to go through all of that ,we should have been more careful and protected you from our uncle's craziness " Jason spoke up and for while mia didn't know what to say, probably because she hasn't said muvj since she woke up and her mind hasn't processed her words yet. Finally finding the right words,mia said"it's okay,he didn't just hold any grudge against you all regardless it was still bound to happen ".

Jason nodded,he was happy to see her awake again but was still internally ashamed of what his uncle did ,the man was part of the family or maybe not by blood but he carried their family's name and he didn't do well in upholding it. But now that everything was over, things would be back to normal.

Hannah fed the food to mia who slowly ate it,she has to eat before taking her medicine and hasn't had anything for two days,her weight has already reduced and now she was very hungry. She remembered Sasha and how she was shot and what Carl must be feeling,she knew he didn't share a good relationship with his step sister and also didn't have any ounce of love for her but what must be be feeling?. As from what she has been told,he had visited this morning and later left so he would probably visit the next day to see her.

"eat those vegetables mia,it will replenish your body stop taking it out" Alex said watching her with slight amusement. In return,mia glared at him and said "I don't want this, these are not the vegetables I eat,take it away". Apparently Hannah had brought her and extra meal, vegetables ti be specific that tasted somewhat bitter but mia forced herself the take two spoons and that was her limit,the woman wanted sweets.

Right now she was distracting her own mind so she wouldn't be expecting Ryan all the time,the time felt slow.

"alright everyone, lets leave,the doctor asked her to rest and I don't want any of you talking her out"Lily said even though she herself didn't want to leave, giving her daughter a kiss on the head she stood up while Hannah took the glass cup from her.

Before Jason left he said "Ryan's on his way here ,I think he got caught up in something you know he wouldn't waste an extra minutes just to see,he loves you a lot". Mia blushed at his words,she couldn't wait to see him . Mia watched as everyone left the room one after the other and when the last one was about to leave she stopped them "Lucy wait".

Lucy froze in her steps, for the first time in two days,she met Mia's eyes, looking at her directly.bshw felt nervous looking at her, along with the others she was in room but stood on the corner and only watched mia glad that before she left mia has already woken up. She wanted to rush and hug her but didn't and remained rooted on the floor where she watched the others talk to her .

"Come sit with me"mia offered whilst tapping the space beside her ,she offered a small smile "I.."Lucy started only to be interrupted by mia "you haven't spoken to me since you arrived in this room and I would like to talk to you " the woman said with a smile but she was serious. Lucy has been standing in a corner since she had woken up and hadn't said a word to her.

Lucy took a seat beside her and asked "how are you feeling?"

"better than the last few minutes" mia replied " but I want to know why you decided to stand in the corner " .

Lucy didn't know how to respond, she contemplated on what to say and finally spoke "I didn't know what you would think of me after everything that happened".

Mia hummed " what happened doesn't change the relationship you and I share because you had nothing to do with it and it won't change what you share with your family,we love you". Mia already knew what was going on through Lucy's head ,it was evident,Lucy was ashamed and didn't know how to face her.

"thank you..." She whispered "for not hating me".

After speaking to mia,she felt better like the heavy burden she had carried has now been lifted,now she can leave without the need to worry. But because she has spent her time in the room when mia woke up,her flight was delayed and cancelled till the next day,only just a few hours left.

"I'll be leaving tomorrow..."Lucy decided to tell her and see Mia's furrowed brows as of silently asking her why,the latter was about to open talk when Lucy quickly clarified " not because I'm feeling upset,I feel better after speaking to you I just want to be with my mum,so she knows she still have me after all she lost her husband" Lucy let out a long sigh.

"when would you be back?"

"a week before Hannah's boutique opening".

Mia then said "but she hasn't decided a specific date yet or has she?" Mia asked wondering if the decision was made while she was in a brief sleep. Lucy responded with "no she hasn't, it's why I told her to inform me early ".

"Just make sure to see me before you leave " Lucy smiled happy mia wasn't showing any signs of resentment towards her it was something she prayed not to happen.

Mia was soon alone in the room,she felt sleepy and could tell it was because of the medicines she took,she was about to close her eyes when the door suddenly burst open
