CHAPTER 109: STRONG

"call if you need anything"Jason said to Hannah who nodded,they stood in Mia's room,it was seven thirty in the morning and the woman still had her eyes closed. Ryan had left for work after the doctor came to check up on her and Hannah had offered to watch over Mia after all the latter had always been there for her.

Hannah then said "i will" . Jason leaned in and kissed her on the head before placing his forehead on hers. Now alone in the room, Hannah watched mia for a few seconds before working to sit beside her,mia has always been her support and to Hannah,the woman was like the sister she's always wished for, someone who would support her and stand by her.

"wake up soon, there's still so much for you to experience"she whispered to her. Her boutique planning was still in progress and she wanted mia to be there to witness the opening and be her model, everything just have to fall into place.

At the same time, Jason went down to meet lucy,the house was quiet mostly because they weren't bickering at each other. Ryan bad gone to work to occupy himself, grandpa had gone to see Mia's mum as it looked like he wanted to catch up on the things he wasn't aware of and Lucy still hasn't gotten over what happened. The thought that it was all her fault still bothered her. Her mum had suggested they leave the city after all there was nothing more to stay for after everything that happened and Lucy bad agreed.

Jason was about to go down the stairs when he spotted atex approaching his cousin as he walked from the direction of the kitchen,for some reason he didn't make his presence known and just watched.

On the other hand,Alex handed the glass of water he had brought for Lucy who took it and whispered a thank you but she didn't take a sip from it. The man sighed "you don't have to go if you don't want to". Apparently she had decided to leave the city and possibly never come back. All her life she had thought they were a family with a strong bond and even though the truth has been revealed she still consider them family but she didn't want to stay , afraid she might cause trouble.

"but I want to,I don't see the point of staying here"Lucy replied , feeling slightly ashamed,if only it didn't have to be like this, then she continued "it's just best if I stay away "

Alex then asked"don't you want to be here when mia wakes up?" Lucy gave it some thought then responded"I'll send my greetings ". Truth be told, she wanted mia to wake up before she leaves, it was one the reasons she delayed for two days so she could see mia and apologize to her. Then she felt something warm clasp her hand and looked down to see , Alex held her hand. He stated"I won't try to convince you Lucy but no matter what happens, know that we are here for you "

For the first few moments of their conversation, Jason didn't bother interrupting them and had just watched from a distance. All of them had known each other and had been friends since their teenage years. Lucy has always had feelings for Alex and neither of the brothers neither tried to encourage or discourage her, knowing how Lucy can get.

Jason also knew that Alex was also developing feelings for his cousin and even though this moment didn't seem like the right time,,he decided to give them the space they needed to talk.

Later that morning, after her conversation with Ryan's grandfather, Lily came to pay a visit to her daughter. Hannah was busy setting the bed properly when the older woman arrived . Taking her daughter's hand in hers that felt cold the woman sighed when Hannah said to her "she will get up soon"

"I pray so, she's already been through pain as a child and now is her chance to be happy,I don't want her bedridden"it felt like a long time since she heard her daughter's voice and she wanted to hear it again. Being her mother it is her responsibility to look after and take care of her. "Mia is strong, she'll get through this as well,we only have to pray for her recovery".

"It's why I'm very proud of her "

The woman nodded and to clear the atmosphere that had turned somewhat sad,she changed the subject and asked to Hannah "how is your work doing?". With a small smile plastered on her face, Hannah responded "just a few more works to be done". And before everything is complete,she hoped mia would be there to witness her grand opening.

"in that case ,I wish you success"the woman replied and added"you can let me know if you need any assistance ".

At the same time ,they heard a low groan and mia slightly moved her hand which the woman felt. Immediately they were quick to move closer to her just to ensure they weren't hearing or seeing things. To their delight,mia slowly opened her eyes, everything appeared blurry looking at the faces that hovererd above hers .

"mum?" she whispered,her voice was barely audible,she closed her eyes trying to adjust to h r surroundings,it was familiar but still her brain was too slow to process what is happening or what has happened. Ok the other hand,just her voice brought a smile on lily's face and she wasn't able to control her tears,she couldn't describe how she felt.

She replied,"I'm here" cupping her daughter's cheek. Without wasting anytime, Hannah immediately called Jason as she didn't have the doctor's phone number. Initially she would have called Ryan but she didn't have his number either and it was only Jason's.

Hannah dialed his number and after two rings he answered the call and Hannah quickly explained everything. Mia on the other hand,looked around the room,she tried to remember how she ended up here until everything that happened before she lost consciousness came flooding in. She looked around, remembering the gunshots and how she got injured and with Ryan who had come in time before she fainted.

"Mia calm down"Hannah said taking her hand seeing her friend's breathing and heart rate increase "don't stress yourself out"

"Where's Ryan...?"
