Chapter 60: Armament Upgrade

This weapon has a total of six plasma barrels that are both larger and longer than the standard Urban Plasma Rifle barrels. Besides that, it also possesses an armored shield mounted towards where the multiple plasma barrels jut out from the main part of the weapon to provide additional protection to the wearer as well as the weapon's main components from damage and a fire rate control located by the trigger that can be adjusted on the fly.

Adding on further to its feature list, the weapon design has coils and electronics that have been vastly improved over previous plasma weapon iterations. This has directly resulted in the weapon's overall durability, power efficiency, and damage increasing quite substantially, as well as the weapon's projectile speed being increased by 500%. Designed by Harold Todd Woods.

And those weren't the only things we accomplished in this time period. We also upgraded Purge's and Mulcher's frontal armor bringing them from 60 damage threshold all the way up to 100 DT.

"Now that we're finished with all of that, let's head up to the dining hall and grab some lunch." I told my assistant, Amata.

"Okay, but once we're done eating, I want to head up to our room, get cleaned up, and changed."

"Sure."

From my personal workshop in the manufacturing area, we sped off to the elevator and, after taking a short ride upon it, we hopped off on the second floor and proceeded to the dining hall for lunch. As soon as we reached our destination, we found that everyone else in our small but growing group was here already eating away. Thus, we grabbed some food of our own and joined them at the large table they were all seated at.

The bunch of us chatted and ate for the next hour and as each one of the ghouls finished their food, they trickled out and returned to go do their assigned jobs and tasks. Shortly thereafter, my female companion and I also finished our lunch. Hence, we headed upstairs to our room, got cleaned up, and changed into a different set of clothes.

We then made our way downstairs again, but this time to take care of Amata's first workout and training and my second workout and training sesh. Following another brief elevator ride, we arrived at the second level underground of our wasteland home and continued to our destination. The moment we reached the gym, Amata and I got to it and began our workout and training session.

...

Two hours of grinding later, we finished the last bit of our training, so we called it quits there and hit the showers to remove the sweat we accumulated on our bodies. Not long later, we met back up with each other outside of the locker rooms, sparkly clean and changed back into our normal clothes. Having finished what we needed to take care of down here, us two peas in a pod returned to the manufacturing area to work on getting additional robots built.

Getting right to work once we made it there, Amata and I worked on fabricating and assembling Hauling Bots since they were the model most needed at this current moment. The two of us kept busy for the next 5 hours before we decided to call it quits for the day.

"Alright, four should be enough for today, Amata. Let's get ourselves some dinner and since everyone else has already eaten on their own, I'll cook for us tonight. Sounds good?"

"Ohh, I can't wait then." She replied excitedly.

With us both practically starving, we hurried back upstairs. Making it to our personal space rather quickly, we first brushed off the metal shavings we had accumulated on ourselves before rinsing off and changing into fresh sets of clean clothes. The second we were all cleaned up and ready to go, we strode into the kitchen and as soon as I began looking through our fridge; I asked what kind of food she felt like having tonight.

She gave it some thought and eventually answered that she was craving Italian, particularly something involving marinara. So, with it being a minute since I last made a chicken parmesan sandwich, I started pulling the ingredients required for it from our large double door fridge and began preparing the ingredients while my cooking apparatuses heated up.

...

Slightly more than 20 minutes is all it took for me to have everything hot and read and once it was, I was about to bring over to Amata, but she jumped up and helped me out. So as soon as all the plates made it to the table, we sat down, dug in, and chatted about this and that in between bites. Spending our time together as such, the conversation eventually ended up at what we were going to be doing tomorrow.

"So, what do you want to do tomorrow?" Amata asked.

"Hmm, good question... I was feeling a bit cooped up as of late, so why don't we head out into the wasteland tomorrow?"

"Oh, do you have any ideas about where you want to go?"

"I have a few locations in mind. I was thinking about going over to the nearby Fort Independence to clear it out and take it over. But there's a major issue with doing that, that being the large raider presence at the Fairfax Ruins that I told you about previously. So realistically, it won't be a good idea to make a move on that military installation till all the raiders residing in the ruins are eliminated." I responded before continuing on with the rest of the locations that I've yet to mention.

"The second option is we could venture over to the Rockland Car Tunnel and pass through it to see if the Enclave are occupying the Rockland Satellite Relay Station on the other side."

"And in the event that they're there?"

"We can simply take out the Enclave forces stationed there, interrogate them for information, and take control of the satellites that are connected to that satellite array. Doing that will remove one of the largest obstacles preventing me from taking over the capital wasteland."

"Yeah, I do remember you telling me the danger of the Bradley-Hercules a while back. The ability to drop orbital bombardments is pretty high on the danger list."

"Mm, and that's not even considering the intel gathering abilities a satellite provides."

"As for the third option, I was considering whether to head up north to Vault 87 to see if I can't get my hands on the G.E.C.K. that should be located there."

"For what purpose?" She asked curiously.

"We would be going up there to retrieve it primarily for its matter-energy replicator, which, to my understanding, should allow me to create just about anything I need from energy. That said, it could also end up being a wasted trip since I don't know if the device truly has the capabilities that I think it does. Or if the place is being actively watched by the Enclave, hence I'd much rather go take control over the satellite relay station first before I attempt to retrieve the G.E.C.K Vault 87."

"I'd have to agree with you on that. It would be smarter to go for the satellite relay station first than it would be to take the risk of getting blown to pieces from orbit by a Bradley-Hercules satellite." Amata commented.

"Okay, it's settled then. We'll head for the Rockland Car Tunnel tomorrow morning with our usual group of robots as well as the new Goliath robot, who has now been added to our usual robot escort squad. But we'll leave the robots behind at the Warrington Trainyard so we can approach and deal with the Enclave stealthily if they are indeed there."

"Whatever you think is best, dear." Amata said in response, half joking and half not so much.

With plans made for the following day, we continued our small talk in between bites and after a decent while; we finished our food, cleaned up, and headed for our living room to chill. A short bit of cuddling and fooling around later, I brought out the wonderful board game monopoly that I introduced to this world and picked the battleship piece while Amata chose the cat for cute related reasons.

After playing a game monopoly for a couple of hours, we decided to pause our intense and ongoing game until tomorrow and got ready for bed. When we were ready, we hopped into bed together, with Amata almost instantly latching herself onto my right arm, and got comfortable.

As she began drifting off into the land of dreams, I utilized Mechu-deru and checked up on my robots to see how things were progressing. Seeing everything going as it should, I finished checking up on my guys and took full control of the newly produced turrets and robots and minutes following that she was out like a light.
