Chapter 4: Rewards

"I can hear the police sirens, though I think they are still a considerable distance away" bryan said

"let's move boys" chen called out to the group, the group got into their respective trucks and set off for chen's house

"to be honest this quest was quite easy, if this is how other quests are going to be I'd say bring it on" victor said

"what makes you think they are going to be more quests" prince replied

Chen was feeling lethargic and too sleepy to engage in any conversation "we didn't even dispose of the body

Meanwhile at the hospital the doctors had already contacted the police about the missing corpses and clothe robbery, they looked at the camera recordings from the day of the escape but all the recordings were scrambled and they could not get anything tangible from the search. The doctor whose car was stolen also filed a report and the car was found alongside a river bank, but no one could find the black box or any finger prints on the car

The forensics team arrived at the location where the kings body was and conducted their investigation about his death they saw that his heart went into shock before he was shot dead they couldn't understand what made his heart go into shock and had to just give up on the case

Chen arrived at his house with the rest of the group since they all agreed that it would be wise to live together and away from the public eye, he went straight into his room and collapsed on his bed.

Chen startled awake a few hours into his sleep drenched in sweat "I can't believe the nightmares have returned again, it must have been triggered by yesterday's incident" chen thought

A few notification sounds went off in his head again "what is it this time" chen thought

"death control???? What is that" chen asked

[death control: the ability to take a certain amount of life force from any target drains the targets life force by 1% at present level]

Well that can come in handy one day chen thought but why is chakra control locked chen asked

"this system is so annoying " chen thought while looking at the inventory he could see that they were objects in the inventory but they were all grayed out and he could not access them, eventually he selected the yes option

[which of your weapons would you like to add]

Chen could see that they were only two slots available and the system provided three weapons for him to choose from he could see his knives, glock and m27 rifle

"this is going to be a tough choice" chen said eventually he selected the glock first since it was his favorite weapon he was torn between the m27 and his knives, but he decided to pick the knives for melee fights and he was also faster with them

[Glocks can fire continuously for 5 minutes but has a cool down time of 30 seconds]

Wow that is amazing chen thought, he decided to go down and make himself some food on getting to the sitting room he saw that everyone was gathered there doing one thing or the other

"what are you guys up to" chen asked

"I'm just showing these guys who is boss" victor replied without looking back

Well the system gave me my rewards today chen said while walking towards the fridge

"what is it" they chorused excitedly

Chen told them about the rewards the system gave him and how he could summon weapons at will

[whatever weapons in your inventory can also be used by your reapers]

Chen couldn't believe what he just saw

"can you show us what you can do" prince asked

"I think we should go outside for this one" chen replied

Everyone gathered outside, chen put his hand forward and summoned forth his knives, it appeared as if mist suddenly coalesced in his hand

"wow! That's cool seems like the system comes with special effects" bryan said

"let's see what it can do" Klaus said

Chen threw the knife at neck breaking speed towards a three and on impact it blew a hole through the first tree and embedded itself in the second one they were all amazed by what they had seen and decided to move towards the tree to access the damage that was done to it, on getting to the tree they could see that the tree had started decaying rapidly and the second tree was already decaying too but albeit at a slower pace.

"I also added death control to the knife while throwing it and the good news is that you guys can also do what I just did but you can only achieve half of whatever abilities I have, lets say that the effect of my death control results in a 1% slash in human life and ability yours would just take 0.5% " chen said

"For real, well we are not the one with the system so we can settle for less, but can I go first?" victor asked

Victor was given the go ahead and willed the knife into existence and practice throwing the knife into a tree the knife the knife opened a hole in the tree but wasn't able to go past the first tree thus confirming chen's previous statement, the tree could also be seen decaying but at a much slower rate than the tree chen damaged

The others also attempted summoning the knives and throwing it as many times as possible but they noticed that the trees no longer decayed after the first throw, they eventually went inside while chen went into his office at home to communicate with jane.
