Prince and Victor stared at Klaus with a gobsmacked look on their face, they knew he was always a good fighter but didn't expect him to have improved so much, seeing how he was able to take out the large bird with a concise hit.
"Did you plan all this or was it a coincidence" Victor asked after recovering from his initial shock
"I wouldn't say I planned it, but I did expect to be attacked" Klaus replied
Bang... Bang.... Bang....
The group heard a loud numerous footsteps coming towards them, Victor and prince looked towards Klaus for an explanation but he just stared back at them dumbly, he didn't have an explanation as to what the was coming their way.
"Let's climb to the top of that tree over there, it seems to be the shortest one here we might be able to avoid whatever it is that is coming" Klaus instructed
They climbed onto one of the branches on the tree and waited to see what was coming over, it turned out to be a flock of large birds, it seemed that the cried of the bird Klaus had killed had alerted them to it's location. They surrounded the dead bird and soon began pecking at it furiously and Taking away large chunks of flesh from it, when they were done not even the bones were left to be seen.
"That was shocking honestly, I never expected that who would have thought those birds were cannibalistic in nature. I actually thought they were here to take revenge or something" Victor said
"Are you sure you really know what a cannibal is or you just feel like tossing words around, moreover I think they were just hungry and that must have been a peculiar behavior that they developed along the course of their evolution" prince replied
"Just shut it, you always act like you know it all when you know nothing, if the word for it isn't cannibal then what is it?" Victor asked
"Errr .... Scavenging I think" prince replied looking unsure of his reply
"Enough of the banter boys, we can't keep staying here let's head back and see if there is anything we could get ourselves busy with" Klaus said and leapt down from the tree
"Are we going to leave behind the fruits we spent a considerable amount of time and energy gathering?" Victor asked
"Yes we would, we can not go back using that route knowing fully well that those large birds went through there, quit the questions we still have a long day ahead of us" Klaus replied
They trudged along a snake path and after about thirty minutes of walking found themselves in front of their tent, they pushed open the flap expecting to see someone but were left disappointed when no one was there.
Feng who had been observing the whole area for a while eventually got bored and decided to go practice his chakra control, he walked towards the hills where he was certain no one would interrupt his training. He sat while leaning his back on a boulder and closed his eyes while trying to practice his breathing and control his blood flow when he was done with that he proceeded lift a boulder onto his back and do a few push ups, he he only stopped when he began to feel a strain on his back and shoulders.
He was soaked in sweat but it seemed to be that he was just getting started, he lifted a boulder onto his back and started running up the hill, he managed to do about ten laps before dropping the boulder and collapsing onto the grassy floor, he began to feel a bit hungry but he decided to clean himself up before considering having anything to eat. He met Bryan at the pond and duly ignored him before going into the pool to wash up.
"Are you just going to pretend like I don't exist, or you didn't see me here before going into the pond?" Bryan asked
"I never pretended not to see you, I just didn't acknowledge you because I had nothing to talk about" Feng replied
"You know, I have been thinking for a while now about this who training to get stronger and every bulls**t that comes along with it" Bryan said while trying with a broken branch
"And??" Feng asked
"And I wonder why it is that you guys who live here find it so easy to learn and control your chakra but we are finding it very difficult to do so, it makes me feel like you are not really being straightforward with us about the whole training" Bryan concluded
"It has just been two days, though it doesn't take that much for anyone to learn the first stage of chakra control, it's the subsequent ones that are more difficult but I don't think you should know that now since you do not even have an understanding of the first stage of chakra control. I have told you guys that the problem comes from deep within you, you refused to clear up your mind and look deep into yourself you can never control you chakra without first having a clear head. Which is why I made you guys meditate each morning, or did you think that was a joke" Feng said and walked out if the pond "today I gave you guys the freedom to do as you like, and most probably find yourselves tomorrow we would resume with the training"
The sun was about setting and Feng sat down on his favourite tree branch watching Chen try to focus and control his breathing, he was tempted to give pointers but held himself back, he felt that he needed to let Feng and the rest learn a few things themselves. At times they did surprise him with their progress but they were times they looked like massive disappointments, he couldn't still understand why it was so hard for them to grasp chakra control, to virtually everyone that lived in the temple the first stage of chakra control was as easy as breathing, he didn't know what tomorrow held but he was determined on making them learn. He was looking forward to the challenge
