Chapter 8: 'hey again'
That evening after classes, Kelsie walked through the school hallway mindlessly as her mind was still fixed on her heartbroken bestfriend....Still figuring out how to help Melanie, Kelsie didn't even notice a certain someone walking beside her until he spoke " Hey again "... Kelsie jolted and he immediately held her back to prevent her from falling or anything due to fright or the shock .."sorry for scaring you ...jus' saw you walking all alone and thought why not join you" he explained .
Kelsie quickly regained her composure and faced him "No am sorry ...I just have alot on my mind "she spoke..." Well am guessing you might not be comfortable talking about it so will it be fine with you if I bought you some ice cream to help calm your mind abit" ...Kelsie simply stared at him wide eyed , did she just hear him right? , Liam of the renegades , offering an average like her.. ice cream! , nahh she must be hallucinating n' that is when she uttered "No no no ...its okay you don't have too , ill- " only to be cut short " I insist , please just allow me to buy it for you ,just this once okay.." she opened her mouth hoping to say something but closed it again , not having anything to actually say , thus her simply nodding in approval , and so he led her to an ice cream stand nearby. On arriving " What flavour would like me to get you..Kelsie?" he asked ...with his eyes on her , waiting for her answer " uhm..m-mint chocolate chip please.." she uttered causing him to raise his brows for a second there, " That's my favourite flavour of ice cream, don't tell me it's yours too ?" " i-it is" she replied him ... " What a coincidence then!... nice choice by the way" he uttered before turning to the ice cream guy and placing her order n thus him getting the ice cream and handing it over to her " here you go ", " thank you " she said..."anytime" came his reply before he added " shall we ?" causing her to nod while she ate her ice cream hence the both of them walking away .....the both of them walked back to the school parking lot before Kelsie stopped and spoke" Uhm..Liam ..I just wanted to say thank u for everything. " noticing her look down as she spoke, Liam shook his head and smiled before he held up her chin gently so that now she looked him in the eye..
" you don't have to thank me for every small thing..okay, seeing you in good shape n' smiling is what makes me happy so allow me do what makes me happy ..aight ", hearing those words from his mouth suddenly made Kelsie's heart beat faster that she didn't even reply him but as usual, nodded her head thus him smiling before he let go of her chin ... "see you tomorrow Kelsie..bye!" ..." bye Liam." came her shy-ish reply.. 'why was she reacting like this towards him gadd!!'
Kelsie thought to herself as she buried her face in her palms so that no one else could see how hard she was blushing 'keep it together Kelsie! his just being nice that's what friends do..get ahold of yourself ' she reminded herself inwardly before walking towards where she had spotted her brother's car park , waiting for her .
