24.Preparing for the Date [1]

After completing his task, Neel slept like a log for complete three days, without a care in the world.

He no longer thought about anything as his body only urged him to relax and do nothing.

And that's what he did.

Lucy in the meantime told Amanda about Neel's current condition. Which made the princess sigh in relief.

She and Lucy both wanted to help Neel in his task and even wanted to tell the cheats to lessen the weight of his task. But they did not do it.

The reason was quite straightforward.

Neel needed to learn about the world before knowing his family's circumstances. He needed to stand on his legs.

The lessons were quite simple as well.

First, help is only given when asked for.

If he felt that Lucy knew something about the game, he should have tried to ask her, interrogate her or even ask for help. However, he did not do that.

Secondly, assumptions are akin to devastation.

Neel was yet to know about the complete knowledge of the 'Potion of Determination'.

In the first place, he took the potion by blindly and naively trusting a system that hasn't even been properly launched yet.

He trusted his guts and took the challenge overconfidently.

Not only this, but he also took impulsive decisions.

Even if he didn't want to suffer much from the cycle of increasing sensitivity, there was a much more steady way to complete the task.

Although it would have been time-consuming, he wouldn't have had to suffer the amount he did right now.

'Sigh.'

That was the only thing the two of them could do.

After all, in all his three days of slumber, the only thing that did not change was the satisfied smile on his face. And it was the only thing that mattered to the two women.

"Huaaaaam…"

Snapping the two out of their thoughts was a yawn followed by the sound of cracking bones.

"It felt…great."

That was the only feeling the half-awakened boy with rough white hair-grey, a weird grown beard, and a dull yet refreshing face was able to feel and express.

He woke up from his slumber, and saw a beautiful woman, with brown hair reaching just below her shoulder, hazel eyes, and wearing a casual blue T-shirt, and trousers looking at him with a worried yet calm gaze.

Next to her was a robot, wearing a maid costume, having a robotic face and height of around 5 feet and some inches, looking at him with a happy gaze.

"Good morning Lucy, good morning Amanda."

He greeted the two women, to break the awkward silence.

"Well, you can't really call 7 p.m. morning, right Lucy?"

"Indeed Amanda, at least not yet, who knows maybe in the future?"

Lucy joked.

"Hahaha… sure sure… it's all fine Lucy, but did I really sleep for six or so hours? I felt I slept a little longer… if I am correct, the last time before getting unconscious it was-."

Before he could complete his sentence, Lucy interrupted.

"3 days 6 hours 54 minutes 13, 14, 15 seconds 16…"

Neel's eyes widened at the sudden revelation.

"Ara? Looks like he is completely awake now. I think you can stop the countdown now, Lucy."

"Indeed. Indeed."

Lucy nodded her head.

"Are you ok now, Neel?"

Amanda's voice was filled with concern.

"Yes, I am perfectly fine now. I just needed some rest nothing else."

Neel tried to convince Amanda.

Amanda also decided not to burden him with questions right now, so she decided to take her leave.

However, before she left,

"I apologize for this in advance."

She said.

"What-"

Before Neel could even react, Amanda closed her distance with Neel and planted a quick and wet peck on his cheek.

And ran away.

This all happened so fast that Neel did not get time to react to it. But there was a soft smile on his face. He happily accepted her advances as he was able to understand her concern for him.

Lucy gave Amanda thumps up inside her heart. Before feeling slightly envious of her.

"So, now what are you going to do, young master?"

Lucy asked Neel to bring him out of his stupor.

Neel who was still enjoying the lingering scent of Amanda and her deed on his cheek noticed Lucy's question and pondered for a bit before answering.

"There are many things to be done. But first, there are two things I want to give importance to. First is a date with Amanda and second is…"

Neel narrowed his eyes and looked at Lucy for the second priority.

Lucy understood what he meant but still decided to play dumb.

"What might be the second thing, young master?"

"Don't play dumb Lucy, it has no effect. I will give you time to prepare yourself till the next day after my date. You know what I want, and if you do not answer then I will leave-…"

Before Neel could complete his sentence, Lucy stopped playing dumb and spoke with a serious tone.

"There is no need for it, young master. I will answer most of your questions. However,"

"Lucy, do you really think, you are in a position to place conditions?"

"No young master, please listen to me. I just have on request to answer most of your questions completely."

"Why you are saying 'most of' and not 'all of'?"

Neel had long noticed that Lucy was not promising to answer all of his questions, but he still asked her.

"It is as you think young master. I cannot answer 'all of' your questions."

"And if you do not awaken in the 'In-Game online' I cannot even answer 'most of' your questions."

She stressed on words 'all of' and 'most of' in a serious tone.

"However, there are some things I want to tell you, as I feel those will be very important for you to know. So please, if you have ever felt that I am a trustworthy woman, awaken in that game."

Lucy deeply bowed her head to Neel.

"Only this once, Lucy. But if you hide anything after my awakening inside that game, forget that I was even ever your young master."

He no longer used 'my dear'. His voice had traces of distrust.

Lucy shivered the moment Neel spoke.

He did not tell Lucy to leave the house or anything, but he indirectly indicated that 'he' will leave the house.

"I understand."

This was the only response she was able to give.
