Spirit Energy, Ending the battle and Another Treasure[2]

Spirit Energy, Ending the battle and Another Treasure[2]

When the mother ape sensed the increase in power of my flames,

From where I was, I could feel its fear.

It was scared of me.

I, a human, made a monster fearful.

"How ironic," I chuckled and muttered softly.

I couldn't help but feel sorry for the mother ape.

It's truly sad and kind of a disgrace to be unable to defeat an opponent 29 levels lower than you and then have that same opponent suddenly become stronger.

I should be as annoying and frustrating to her as a cockroach with nine lives.

I don't ever want to be in a situation like the mother ape, now that I think about it.

Even thinking about it hurts.

"But really, this so-called 'Spirit Energy' can't be a mana sub-energy at all," I muttered.

I can tell from the quantity that my mana is far superior, but the quality of my Spirit Energy is something that even my 'superior' mana cannot match.

I could barely stop myself from pulling my hair as I thought about how difficult it is to understand things in this world as I focused on the monster once more.

Though I've become more 'Powerful' as a result of my Spirit energy, it's only a temporary boost.

'My Spirit energy can't sustain Stage 1 of my physique for long; the amount is simply too small,' I grumbled.

But it should suffice.

Though I can be considered 'Powerful,' I was only slightly more powerful than a regular level 50.

And the fact that I can fight a level 50 at level 29 using only my transformation is a feat in and of itself.

I'm just not sure I'll be able to handle the backlash when it comes.

I just hope it's not too harsh.

Forcing myself to stop thinking about things I couldn't control, I wanted to put an end to this monster before my spirit energy runs out.

That would be so embarrassing and awkward if it happened.

Since I lacked any fire-related attacks, the only thing I could do was use mana to simply push the flames away and let them deal damage on their own.

And since this was the only attack I had, I decided to end the fight in the most basic manner possible.

I made my violet flames burn so hot that it appeared I was burning the air itself by simply increasing the output of my spirit energy.

As I increased the heat of my flames, the surrounding area in a 10-meter radius had already melted to purple lava, as it continued to spread and go deeper.

Anyone who saw this scene would think I was wasting my flames' power and wasting energy, but I knew it was the simplest way to kill the mother ape.

The purple lava surrounding me had already passed 10 meters and was at 30 meters as the ape looked at me with an uncertain expression on its face.

I carried out my plan after concluding that my preparations were sufficient.

"Shadow Magic: Verto,"

Swapping places with the ape, I dropped the monsters straight into the lava.

The ape was unlike me because I could cover my feet in mana to stay on top of the purple lava. After all, the violet flames would not devour me.

With the purple lava covering the monster's entire feet and devouring his mana and aura at an alarming rate because the area the monster was in had the highest concentration of violet flames.

I used 'Blink' to appear beside the mother ape and delivered a punch to her stomach with a fist clad with dense aura, not wanting to miss this opportunity to attack while the monster was literarily fighting with everything around her.

With slight movements, I delivered a spinning back fist to the monster's face, followed by a flying kick, and finished with a roundhouse kick while in mid-air.

The monster was already dizzy from my series of punches and severe mana depletion at this point.

Without further ado, I held the ape's face in my hand and directed the violet flames to burn it, and just as I had predicted, I was able to burn it with no suspense.

'Rest in peace', I gave its burnt body a silent wish.

'Spirit Energy is truly amazing,' I thought.

Looking around at the now peaceful but destroyed surroundings, I silently deactivated stage 1 of my sage body physique and called back my flame, but I stopped my movement due to a discovery that made me extremely happy.

Aside from the fact that my flame is hotter and more lethal than other flames, I discovered it has the ability to consume the vitality of anything or anyone it comes in contact with.

However, I accidentally discovered another ability of the flame.

I would have left the area ages ago if it hadn't been for the fact that I didn't want the violet flames to spread any further than they already had, but thankfully I didn't and called the flames back.

Returning the flames to my body made me realize that my flame is more unique than I had previously thought.

I assumed that its ability to devour was simply a trait that allowed it to be more destructive.

Never would I have guessed that the vitality it devoured was actually stored in the flames, and it was only when I recovered the flames that I realized I was able to consume the devoured vitality.

I could feel my cultivation growing, my exhaustion fading, and my body healing.

I even suspected that my flame's two abilities were traits that it needed to balance out.

One devours and one consumes.

I had a gut instinct that I would require a lot of energy to maintain this flame of mine.

As I thought of this, I smelt a familiar fragrance before I could think any further.

"Is a treasure about to be born?" I wondered aloud.
