Bonus Chapter: Finalizing the registration, Future Classmates, and the Wild Agneya[14]

Finalizing the registration, Future Classmates, and the Wild Agneya[14],

[Agneya POV],

I'm not sure how long I've been fighting, but instead of having a winning hand, it was becoming increasingly difficult as the fight progressed.

The monster became accustomed to my fighting style as I did to it too.

It also didn't help that I was fighting the one with water elemental powers while Tethys was fighting the one with fire elemental powers.

'Stupid luck,' I thought, annoyed by our mismatched pairing.

But, despite being weaker than the monster, I was able to fight to a standstill in the match because my flames were special, and the flames attached to the monster were still burning half of the monster's mana and returning it to me, allowing the match to continue.

Though fighting the monster made it difficult for me to focus on other things, I was able to take a few seconds in between fights to observe Tethys' fight, and when I saw she was doing fine just by herself, I was able to focus more on my fight.

.....

At this point in the fight, I was already panting as I saw the monster in front of me was exhausted too.

Walking in the direction that Tethys was slowly as she noticed my signal, and was also moving close to my direction so we could meet mid-way, I discovered that the monsters did nothing to us as they just watched us do our thing.

The reason I was planning on meeting with Tethys in the first place is that I was planning on suggesting to her that we should temporarily retreat so we could recover a little of our energy before coming back to attack.

So when we noticed the monsters were doing nothing but staring at us, I assumed they were tired of fighting.

But if it's really as I imagined, that would be the best thing since I'm so opposed to using my Physique.

But as always, life will frequently turn out differently than you had anticipated.

When Tethys and I were a reasonable distance away from them, the monsters suddenly dashed back, startling us.

I assumed the situation was resolved when I saw the monsters running away and that we had managed to chase them away when the exact opposite of what I had anticipated happened.

When the paths of the two monsters running crossed, they suddenly merged as they grew larger.

Instead of two bodies, the monster now had a single body with two heads, resembling a twin-headed fire and ice snake.

If that wasn't bad enough, the monster's level was now high enough to rule out the possibility of continuing the fight.

But I can't do that; I have to be the best and prove myself to them and 'him.'

'Level 42, this is going to be difficult.' I thought as I ran forward without pause, charging at the monster while activating stage 1 of my physique.

"Fire Qilin Physique: Stage one, unlock." I chanted as I prepared to begin another round of combat with the monster.

[Tethys POV],

'That muscle-headed moron! Why did she charge straight at the monster? I understand her reasons, but does she have to go that far? After all, it's just a test.' I thought as I stopped myself from cursing because it's bad and I've been told that if I do, I won't find a man to marry.

'According to Mummy, no man likes a girl who curses.'

As these thoughts were going on in my head, my body wasn't idle as I chased after her to support her.

I know of Agneya's goals and why she wants to be one of the best and if possible, the best in whatever she does.

But she doesn't listen when I tell her that she should take it easy sometimes, so I semi-gave up convincing her after failing numerous times.

So as her friend, the only thing I can do now is support her as best I can.

Agneya leaped to her feet, yelling a war cry as she kicked the monster in the side, causing its head to sway upward. She also increased the intensity of the white flames around her, especially at her right leg.

I slammed my hands on the ground, creating a magical circle that created a massive ice spear just below the head of the snake that Agneya had just hit.

However, due to the snake's already hard scales, our combined attacks were barely effective.

And because the monster I just attacked had the ice element, my attacks only played a supporting role because the head would have some form of ice immunity being an ice-type monster.

The other snakehead attacked by spiting red deep flames that appears to be burning the air in my direction not even a second after the previous one.

Agneya appeared in front of me as she sent her own white flame in the direction of the incoming flame.

Rather than fighting fire with fire, Agneya used her flames to draw in the monster's flame by mixing it with her own white flames as she rolled her hard, making a circle before collecting and gathering the entire flames and condensing it into a ball before shooting it back at the monster.

Whether the attack hit the monster's location, I couldn't tell from where I was because there was dust everywhere and my vision was hazy.

I was about to let down my guard when I noticed a massive tail approaching us, but by the time we realized what it was, it was too late, and the tail hit us hard.

Only when our backs were against the wall did we come to a halt.

Agneya and I observed the monster while standing up quickly because we were still fighting.

Looking at its sorry state, we realized that the monster had decided to tank the attack right now to land its own attack.

'This is going to be difficult,' I thought and sighed as we raced back to the battle.
