Tareth stepped out of the small bookstore, his new book in hand. With a raised brow, he muttered to himself, "Didn't expect to find a popular novel here, of all places." The book was in pristine condition—its cover bright and fresh, not like the well-worn tomes Batustone usually carried. He had planned to buy it once he returned to Avaros, but seeing it here, in such a remote town, he had jumped at the chance.
"The price… It costed almost as much as a single pay for one quest! Oh well, guess I'll have to live with the steep price," he sighed, "though, for this little gem, I can't complain too much."
As he strolled around the winding streets, taking in the familiar yet quaint atmosphere of Batustone, he turned into a smaller alleyway and found three town guards standing together. Curious, he approached, only for one of the guards to warn him off.
"Apologies, sir, but we're investigating something. Civilians should keep a safe distance."
