The Siege [4/4]

On getting to the lower belfries of the cathedral, a purple light began dazzling forth from the inner Sanctuary where more Altars are laying with unpowered gateways, the light brewing forth was turning incandescent and the horde of people shifted away from the harrowing radiance.

The lower belfries of the cathedral was somehow connected with the inner sanctuary and then, interlocked together with ariar purposes. The stairs to it was also winding but didn't descend far below and after experiencing such light, the Monk came to view.

He just teleported in.

Blake's eyes widened.

When his eyes first clashed together with the Monk's, a wicked smile towed on his lips... the monk was verbally a terrifyingly but powerful immortal just like the Lieutenants he had slained but his own was on a whole different level.

Immediately, the whirrling sound whiped the air as the tentacles shot forward towards Blake and he dodged...

'Fuck!!'

Tera and Evie summoned their weapons and stood beside Blake ready to take the Monk on. Their silvery hair dancing in monotone to the wind with their eyes glistening with crimson radiance.

"Oh, I see... you got the dolls to fight beside you?"

Tera got upset.

"Who did you just call a doll?"

"Relax Tera, he's just bluffing."

Evie reminded her and then a laughter ruptured out of the lips of the Monk.

"How delirous!"

His weight uplifted from the lower sanctum and then he was drove into the air and then pushed forward to stand just metres away from the horde of humans.

"I would most definitely have my special lunch or... actually, its a boon for me to have more lunches waiting to serve on my plate..hmm.."

He smacked his lips which looked to be extreemly pink... or red probably, with blood.

When the Monk put forth a mad attack to grab Blake first, Tera and Evie acted just in time. Even Blake knew that he wouldn't be able to dodge such super fast attack and then there was no way for him to use the [Darkness Cover] right from time, anything darkness do not need light around for it to be effective but right now, the [Eternal Flames] have been burning non-stop as if there really is no ending to its blaze.

Meanwhile, the Monk's attack was probed by Tera and Evie's power.

When his tentacles shot out from all angles, both girls stretched out their both arms, opening their palm to him.

"What are they doing?"

Azulu asked staring at the girls who they thought was fooling themselves right now. The monk wasn't someone that they would chase with just the outstretch of the arm. "They've gone crazy."

Dessi said twirlling her blonde hair aside.

But the very moment a silvery glow emanated from their outstretched arm, Azulu and Dessi gasped.

'Witches!'

The silvery radiance encirculated forming a large shield which was pulsating with enough power and defense from getting to the horde of humans.

One of their Aspexts were [Preservation] and this ability helps them retain, preserve much of their energy. If it was before that they weren't blessed by the gods, they would have fallen limp due to exhaustion giving the Monk room to finish off everyone.

"Run everyone!!!"

Tera screamed and the humans suddenly fell into chaos and they scampered off.

"Blake go too, we would be right behind you."

Evie said realising Blake's reluctance to leave.

Blake was confused.

"But... I can't..."

"Go Blake, we won't get exhausted that easily. Save yourself, by the way I know that the monk wants you, not us so go!!" Evie said.

"Are you sure?"

"Go Blake!"

Immediately, Blake ran and then disappeared without a trace.

When Tera and Evie noticed that the main hall was practically empty and somber, they looked at themselves and then draw out a lot more energy from themselves and then pushed the monk down into the Sanctuary and of course, the place locked up itself.

But before their radiance could even die down, the tentacles of the monk shot out of the wall, promising his escape.

"Damnation..."

Then the both girls vanished like a poof of smoke.

***

The horde of people was seen marching through the Vile Castle with Blake and the girls walking ahead of them. Or probably, Gabriel clinging to Tera's side.

Azulu and Dessi who were the most shocked after the incident that took place an hour ago with the Lord Monk. They fought for space between Tera and Gabriel and when they found the much needed position, they smiled at Tera.

Blake just tched.

"Are you both witches?"

Azulu questioned and Tera sighed. Evie rolled her eyes at that question as they continued.

"Listen, girly. We are seeking for a powered gateway and if that doesn't happen sooner, the Monk might reach us any sooner." Evie said.

The entrance leading into the Vile castle was suspended and then, a rubble scattered from the outside. Somehow, the Monk had figured out the route they were bound to take and then shattered a couple of stone walls.

"Retreat!!!"

Blake screamed.

The Vile Castle was shrouded in darkness unlike the Cathedral which was submerged with the thick flames of the [Eternal Flames]. This time around, he would be able to use the [Darkness Cover]. Blake stared at the entrance and he pushed the door to stop the monk from gaining entrance. Blake endured torture of devastating push and shove untill the last set of slavees were led through the stairs by Evie and Tera...

Suddenly, the push he recieved next threw him furtively back and his back arched towards the wall and then the man walked in, but before he could walk in, Blake became incoporeal due to the [Darkness Cover].

"Huh! Were did they go?"

The man looked around and cocked his head to the side.

'Bloody bastards... fuck you all!'

Blake who sat in the embrace of darkness stood up with pain circulating his whole body. Then he walked without the damn man noticing a thing.

"Azulu, where's the leading boy?"

Dessi asked looking behind as they ascended the stairs, the side of it winding and the narrow walk widening even more.

Blake was finally able to catch up answering the question of the curious Dessi. Blake met Tera and leaned on her shoulder for support. He over exerted his strength wedging the door and stopping the Monk from getting in, and upon that he had ran in the darkness to catch up with them so he was panting so much for breath.

"Damn it... one of my blade was destroyed..."

Blake remembered Marshall.

Finally, he decided to study his status, his entittlement and all others. He hadn't gotten much time to figure out what they were plus the Orthodox Crane couldn't tell in more details about what he depicts he sighed and summoned his status.

The sparkling light appeared in a strange writing in the air and Blake gazed at it.

They immediately increased their pace..
