A Trial Calls

Three days came and gone, rolling forth into the fourth day.

These three walked tirelessy along the rough sea bed. Wall of water on either side and Tera trying to hold for much longer because, obviously these three days had been so intense for her and now, she was barely holding. At some point, it would look as if the walls of water loosen and flexed like it was about to fall down, only for a power to strongly build it back to its position.

"Hold in there Tera, we are almost at its bank... please."

Blake pleaded.

At least, on of Tera's abilities was on conservation. Her energy wouldn't reduced quick. But seeing as it has already been three days, her reserve must have been tempted to run dry. Or... it has already.

Evie turned to face the wall with her indifferent look, she was well aware of the fact that Tera must be drained because in the last three days, she had been concentrating. Well, that's what she gets for practising Athernal Magic.

Her mind was full of criticism right now but she only kept her thoughts to herself.

Finally, after a couple of hours, they were met with the sandy floor, wet and moist and then some minutes later, they were at the boundary that marks the beginning of Ruithe Ville's woods. And then, SPLASH!!!

The body of water came colliding against each other, splashes of it shot up as Tera disengaged her connection to the water.

"This is entirely stressing..."

Tera's voice trembled incoherently and peering into her core, she had seen that she almost ran out of her preservation. Nearly combusted but luck still was on their side. With the way the water collided on each other, the pressure was enough to swiftly wash anything standing on its way and Tera sighed.

But of course, Evie couldn't forget the pain that clouded her heart.

"Tell me Tera, did you somehow transform from a daughter of light to the daughter of darkness?"

Tera stared at her with a knowing expression ertched on her face.

'Oh, she's still upset...'

Tera did not know why herself. She had an inkling that this had to do with the boding of her both parent. Well, her mom was from the goddess of light while her dad was from the god of darkness and Evie barely know this secrete of hers.

"Um... Don't you think that this isn't the right time to ask this?" Tera said precariously and Blake turned to face her with his brows narrowed.

"And here you are, avoiding my question... again!" Evie said with a gritted teeth.

Blake finally exhales.

"Evie relax. It seems she doesn't want to speak about this in my presence."

But seems like Evie doesn't want to hear of it.

"I don't bloody care... my bestfriend is a f**king dark witch and I knew nothing about it..."

"Did you expect me to be happy?"

Evie was now mad.

The expression she had on her depicted nothing but fury. Something capable of turning a whole town into molten larva. Her eyes brows bended like an angry chivan and then her lips spewing out words as if she was throwing out fire. It was indeed a bad scene to view.

"Evie, I really do not understand why you seem so upset with me. Is it my fault for having that little bloodline flow through my vein?"

Evie's eyes narrowed questioningly as if that little message she passed wasn't well gotten.

"What do you mean by... bloodline?" Evie asked.

"My dad was a dark witch, so what? I had inherited that trait from him. And to be honest, I am very upset that I have his blood flowing through my veins."

Evie's anger suddenly shattered and turned into something of dread. She just realised that she had never asked of her parents but, Tera always... that was a fact. She always asked and Evie couldn't believe that she had not asked about her own parents.

Then the next moment, fear washed over her own expression.

"I am so sooo... s-sorry Tera. I misunderstood you completely."

Tera sighed.

Meanwhile Blake just walked ahead of them to let them have all the talk that they needed.

"You had thought that I would ever go astray the instructions of the goddess of light?" Tera asked and Evie sighed...

"I thought you've turned rogue. Am sorry. About your parents..."

Evie strailed off and Tera sighed.

"My mom is dead but my dad is not. He is rogue, wants me to join him but I won't."

Tera continued...

"I saw him after our first trial out of the Underworld groove. H-he said he missed me and wants to see me. I only pretended that I also wanted to see him sooo, I think he's still waiting at the dark colosseum near the ancient path of Scarlet Hill."

"Do you want to see him?"

Evie asked and Tera slightly nodded. She couldn't hide the fact that she missed him badly too just like he missed her but... he was bad! But still, he was the only family left for her. Her mom is dead but not her dad.

"When we get out of here Tera, I will accompany you to see your dad."

Evie said and Tera smiled... but suddenly something jolted them. Even Blake that was walking ahead was jolted by the impact of it.

What in the world?!

Blake walked back to the girls and froze instantly when a simmering runes hovered above his view.

[Blake Listerio, you are encountering your first Call of a Trial...]

[Trial Call you from the golems of the real world to the chasm of the Underworld grooves.]

[On the very first night of the cholie Autumn, you would be taken into the vast world of nightmares...]

[To fufil all odds and take a journey into the vast grooves of the underworld... To accomplish this trial takes so much of a time. Dear CrestFallen, we beeseech thee...]

The very next minute, the hovering runes disintegrated.

Blake recalled what it said.

On the first night of the Cholie Autumn, they would be taken into the grooves. That was their limit to stay in the real world and that is just three weeks away from now.

"Did you see the Trial Call?" Blake asked and both ladies nodded.

Without wasting anytime, they continued their journey out of the woods of Ruithe Ville and after a long while, they came into the town.
