Pulled Her Back To Sit On His Lap

Even though you are handsome things might not work out between us. I am always busy. I don't have much time for my partner.

It would definitely make you leave me. So why not leave me now and save yourself from disappointment. I am not really a girlfriend type." She tried to reason with him but John had set his mind to get her right off the bat from that fateful night.

Eva was so engrossed in talking to him that she wasn't aware of the stares that people throw in their direction. Most women had hearts in their eyes and most men were envious of the person in front of them.

"You know the owner of Summer Cafe?" John asked in interest. Knowing another layer of her secrets and identity, aroused a new level of interest within him.

"My friend owns this. The one I was with at the bar. She run this place when she graduated from university. You can order if you want. I am not planning to share my food with you." She was really blunt with her statements.

John looked at her quietly. He didn't say anything until he stood up from his seat. "I will prove to you that I am serious in this matter."

Eva didn't really care about him though she heard what he said, she thought that it wouldn't change a thing. He would certainly give up on here sooner or later.

And because she was focusing on her own thoughts and dessert, she wasn't able to guard herself when he suddenly kissed her forehead.

"I'm going back to work sweetheart," he spoke with a sexy voice that made everyone's heart flutter.

But that wasn't the case with Eva. She was so angry at him that she'd wanted to kick his eyes.

"I hate you!" she gritted her teeth as she spoke her words. Her face felt so hot it could melt her ice cream.

"How sad. I still love you even if you hate me. Besides, that was just a kiss. We've done things beyond that." The words he whispered made her fume from anger and embarrassment.

"There's no way things would work out between us. Go away or I'll kick your ass and hang you upside-down!" she ate her dessert as quickly as she could without looking back at him.

Eva blushed even more from his statements. She wasn't aware at all that they were paying attention to them. His words embarrassed her since she knew John wasn't her boyfriend at all.

Merry came out to check on her and caught on some of the words. She approached her friend who looked so grumpy while eating.

"What's the commotion all about? Why do you look like you're about to kill someone?" Merry sat on the couch that Johnson Bob used earlier.

"Nothing. It's someone I knew that came to annoy me. People misunderstood easily." Eva answered while scooping another ice cream. "Good thing you gave me this or I would've flipped this table at him earlier."

Merry laughed at her friend who seemed normal to her for the first time. It was the first time she showed a change of emotions since her mother died.

"Eh? Why are you laughing at me?" Eva asked with a pout that made her look so cute.

"I've never met anyone who can rile up your mood. It's my first time seeing your face changed to different expressions.

I wonder who this person is." Merry teased her but Eva did not give in to her. In any case, she wouldn't be seeing that man in the future. Or that's what she thought.

However, destiny played cheerfully with their fate. Eva didn't visit the cafe the next day to avoid bumping into him, but that didn't mean Johnson would just stop.

Merry was checking on their food display when the wind chime made a sound indication of someone's appearance. A delivery guy came with a bouquet of red roses.

"Uhh excuse me? Flowers for Miss Eva." The staff looked at each other since they knew that their boss don't actually visit the cafe that often.

Merry saw their surprised faces and went up to the delivery guy. "I'm sorry to trouble you. Are you sure this is the address?"

The man checked his note again to confirm. "Yes ma'am. Our client told us to send this here in Summer Cafe."

"Fine. Eva isn't here at the moment. I'll sign it up for her." Merry reached out for the form and signed it before getting the flower.

The man left in a hurry since he's got other things to deliver as well.

"My. My. This girl's spring finally came. I wonder who the man is." Merry whispered to herself. She had seen the note but there was no name written on the paper. Just an endearment that would surely flip Eva's switch.

Eva was scribbling in her notebook while listening to a piece of music. She just released a new song and it stayed at the top for a few days already.

Suddenly, a bouquet of flowers appeared in front of her face. It still had some dews in it and the cut on its stem clearly shows it was just picked less than an hour ago.

"For me?" Her face lit up and she received the flowers to smell them. "You're so sweet."

"Oh? Giving you flowers is rather sweet, isn't it?" Merry raised her brow with a mischievous face.

"Of course. I love flowers. I love red flowers." Eva was hugging, smelling, and caressing the flowers when Melly handed her a small piece of paper.

BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS TO THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LADY -John

Her mood turned a hundred-eighty degrees switch. She clenched her fist to crumple the paper with a red face.

"This devil! I should have known! He is really annoying!" She stomp off her feet on the floor and hurried to throw the flowers in the trash can.

"Such a waste. Don't you like it?" Merry was just watching her funnily from the sideline since
