The Accusatory

WHILE LEAVING the court room, someone asked. "Now that the man was sentence, is their any possible way to free him, attorney?"

It takes a minutes before the attorney answered. "I can't tell... The court approved the non-billable so he won't be freed by bail, what I'm afraid is, his attorney might ask for parole after a months or years!"

The woman who ask nearly cry when she learned that the murderer of her daughters can still be free at some point. "Can you do something about it attorney? I can't accept nor I can't sleep at night knowing that, that criminal can still be free! 12 years isn't enough for what he did! He brutally killed my daughters without mercy, he can't be freed just like that! "

The woman was beyond happy when finally, justice were serve and the felon will be behind bars, she couldn't ask for any as long as justice will be serve, but now that she learned about this, the woman didn't felt any than extreme fury towards the man who committed the crime and toke her daughters life!

Her fury meant no bounds. She will loathe him for the rest of her life! If she can only raze hell to that man's life, she will. She will make him feel how does it felt to wake up in the morning with heart hurting and so much fury deep with in. But even though she wanted to, she also know that it won't give her any good, because if she did what that man did then what's the difference between them?

She must let the system ruled that man's life. That criminal will sure can't live his life easy the way how system rule behind bars. And that's the only though that can make her at ease — that the man will be living twelve years on ground living hell. She felt somehow at relief when the attorney said that, parole have limits. There was still the certainly that the culprit will stay behind bars just like his sentence.

"We have to go. Mayor Vasquez is waiting for us." Declared by the attorney. The woman only nodded and silently went inside the car.

She owes a lot the mayor. Mr. Vasquez was one of the reasons why they won the case. He help them out along the process. Mayor Vasquez spend so much effort to made it possible! Saying a million thank you isn't enough for what he have done to them.

He was the new elected Mayor yet he'd done so much enough to those who's in need just like them. Good thing, he was the mayor, because without him on our side maybe the justice they seek will just a dream. She highly doubt it!

The ride didn't take that long, when the car stop, she then step out and wait for the attorney to lead their way in. The woman was beyond disbelief. The house infront of her was not just a house but a huge modern mansion. It was her first time to be here and it makes her little. As they make their way in, theirs nothing can describe what she's seeing but a expensive furniture only those wealthy can afford.

After so many turnarounds of their way, they finally stop infront of a big door. The attorney made three knocks before he open the door and lead her way. She quickly bow her head when she saw the mayor walking back and forth as if he's waiting for someone .

"Lift your head Zerinnah, we're not on my office, don't be too formal." His baritone and big voice filled the whole room.

"M-mayor...?"

"It's okey Zari." The Mayor said nonchalantly. He approached her seat and tapped her on the shoulder. "I called you here so I can congratulate you personally. Finally, your most awaited time has come. I hope you're at ease now!"

The one called Zerinnah also nodded softly. "If it weren't for you, we might not have gotten justice. Thank you Xander! I don't know how I can repay you–"

"Oh no.. no... I'm not expecting anything in return, I'm good! You just called me by my name, it's okey now!"

Silently listening the two converse the attorney fake his cough. 'Hell no! I'm not gonna witness some cliche flashbacks again!' He thought.

The two fell silent. Zerinnah went even further because of the embarrassment she felt. It was as if the mayor had just returned to his seat. "So? How was the case?" The mayor ask while looking at him.

"Case closed!" He simply said.

It's true. After a months of trails the case is finally closed. The felon was sentence and already brought to City jail. In fact he still can't believe what the man did earlier. He couldn't believe it was able to make a scene there. He even throw an oath. How pathetic he could be?

"The man made a scene! He's claiming that he's a victim of frame up and didn't commit any crime! He even throw an oath!" He said in a playful voice.

"Really?" The Mayor ask in a sarcastic voice. "The audacity of that criminal!"

"He's pathetic! He keeps on begging. Why don't he just accepted the fact that he's paying the crime he committed!? Denying it won't get her any good!"

He somehow feel sorry for that man but he's more sorry to those who lost their loved ones because of him. He's a criminal attorney and he does know how criminals mind works! But at the back of his mind, their is this thought that somehow believing the man's claim. Because in today's time where money is what fighting for. He did not plead guilty and only the evidence that he pointed out was able to convince him.

But how? If there was a court irregularities, who was it? Because if only Zerinnah's family can't do that, I doubt Mr. Vasquez did it too. He knows his friend and his sure as hell that his friend don't play dirty.

If that so, who's playing behind the curtain?

The attorney was in deep thoughts. But so much for that, the case was closed and it would be even more confusing if he just looked for a hole in the case. But aren't it their job!?

He seems to be fighting his own thoughts. He might be deceived. The case is closed, so let it be!

"We'll take our leave now." He said after a shortwhile not looking to anyone. He walked straight out of the room. "Com'on Zari!"

Zerinnah immediately complied when she heard Mr. Caleb, their attorney.

"T-thank you mayor. Uhm, there's a little party with us tomorrow, if you have time please lend a visit."

"Sure... I'll be there!"

Zari nod for the last time and give her goodbye. She then followed the companion who was now waiting with her outside the door. When she came out, she immediately closed the door.

"I'm taking you home!" The attorney declared.

She just nod. She no longer demands it. That would be better. Because just like Reign, Zari had a long day too. But not like Reign, she's going home where her family is waiting for her. That's what differentiates them, because she has a family to lean on now that she's tired and unlike Reign who has no one but himself.

And Zari thought that Reign deserved it! That was one of the things he had to suffer. He has no choice but to endure it all!

'A criminal like him deserve to suffer! And even if he push heaven and earth, valley and mountain, he would never earned my forgiveness no matter how hard he try!'

Anger was etched in her heart and mind that even time could not change.
