1. Real Game?

"And that's done. Let's see how many hours did I take to finish this speedrun?"

I glanced at the time recorder and saw '15.45' there.

"Ooh! A new record! At least I beat my previous record by 15 seconds!"

I murmured to myself with joy for my achievement.

I stood up from my gaming chair and walked to the bathroom as nature calls.

After I'm done, I washed my hands and look at the mirror above the washbasin and see my own reflection there.

I could see the reflection of a young man with chiseled body and a handsome face.

If I have to rate my own look, then I will say that it's about 9 out of 10.

I know it's sound narcissistic but I'm telling the truth here.

My mother is an designer while my father works as an actor and both of them have a very good looking face, fortunately those traits also passed down to me, their second son.

I have five siblings, quite a lot at this age where most families only have 2 or 3 kids.

I have an older brother and an older sister who both are currently in college.

After them comes me, the third child of the family, then my twin sister who was born only a few minutes after me, and both of us are in our second year of high school.

Then the youngest of all five, my youngest little sister who still 7 years old kid.

All of us got our parents good looks and talents as well.

Even though my parents were busy with their works, they still arrange their schedules to spent time with us, their children.

Because of that, our relationship is quite close to each other.

I also glad to be born in this family.

But still, I'm satisfied with my life yet.

I had achieve a lot of things in school, whether if it in the sport field, literature field, and even music field.

But at one moment of my life, the start of my second year of high school actually, I found them all to be boring.

I didn't feel the same excitement when I start to learn them before.

After that, I tried many things to appease my boredom.

Relationship, arts, films, culinary, sexual act- never mind about that.

The point is I was bored to the bone and were stressed because of it.

And one day, one of my best friend which is a game freak invited me to his house to play a new game that he just bought together.

Since I don't have much to do, I went there and it was at that moment that I felt the excitement feeling that I had lost before.

Since then, I got hooked with all kind of games, and now I also become a game freak just like him.

My parents scolded me a lot though because of this new hobby of mine, but I was planning to become a pro gamer.

I haven't told about my new dream to family yet as I'm afraid to get scolded because my family doesn't like games very much and they even consider it as something that can ruin someone life.

Anyway, I went down to the kitchen down stairs and took a sandwhich inside the refrigerator, then I heat it up and took it back to my room upstairs at the third floor.

I'm famished, I haven't eaten anything since last night, and now it's already noon.

I went back inside my room and seat on my gaming chair in front of my computer once again.

I was planning to do another speedrun after this but something when I look at my computer screen, I got shocked.

My computer screen suddenly turned blue and then a game ad shows up.

[Do you dare to play the ultimate game with your life on the line?]

[Yes] [No]

It was kinda creepy, but at the same time I also thought that it was kind of interesting.

At that time, what I thought was 'Did someone hacked my computer?' and nothing else as I already installed and ad blocker for my computer.

I never believed in supernaturals thing after all so the thought of this as a magic or something on the same line never pass my mind.

In amusement, I clicked on the yes button and then I was instructed to choose some choices..

- Beast - Wolf

- Human

- Giants

I choose wolf because I thought that it kinda cool and more interesting than human and giants.

- Lucari, Wolf Priestess

- Bartam, Wolfbeast Berserker

- Karan, Wolfmaster

I look at the next choices and was surprised by the graphic of the characters.

They look very realistic and real.

I can't even imagine how much work did the development team put into this game.

The first character is called Lucari, the Wolf Priestess.

She looks mostly like a human but instead with normal ears at the side of her head, she have a pair of white wolf ears on top instead and a white tail on her lower back.

She hold a wooden staff with a greenish glowing gem on embedded on top of it and wore a simple green colored robe.

From her name and equipment, I can guess that her fighting style will mostly using magic, though the 'priestess' part of her title made me a little reluctant to pick her as a priestess usually more suited as a support rather than a damage dealer.

The second character is a humanoid wolfbeast, similar to a werewolf.

Bartam, the Wolfbeast Berserker, his body is fully covered by black fur with the only exception of his inner ears which the only area that is white colored.

His build is quite large and tanky while his long claws looks very sharp.

From the look of it, his main weapon should be his long and sharp claws.

The third and last character is almost the same with the first character, but with different gender.

Unlike the first character who use a staff, the guy didn't even have any weapon with him except the iron gauntlet he wear on his right arm.

Looking at his title, I guess his class will be something like a summoner.

I thought about which character I should pick for more than half an hour and in the end I decided to pick the third character, Karan the wolfmaster.

As for the reason, I never played the summoner class before in any of my past game so I want to try something new this time.

The third instruction then came and this time I was instructed to choose between 2 choices.

- Reivat - A world ruled by mostly human with other races being suppressed and hunted by the humans race.

- Tarog - A world where many races has build their own countries and live in harmony, but currently are under attack by abyss.

[Choose carefully, you cannot take back the choices you have made]

I thought about it for a while before I choose the first world, Reivat.

I have played a lot of games before that have the same background story as the second world so I was more interested at the first world.

Another reason is that my character is a demi human and it's going to be very hard for my character to survive, but it won't be fun if there's no thrill.

Soon my computer screen black out again and then it showed the character that I had chose before, sleeping in the middle of a forest together with 2 big wolves on both of his sides.

There are some menu on the left top of the screen.

"Hmm, let's see, where's the exit option?"(Wilhem)

I was a little confused with the weird game system here.

I tried to move the character using the commonly used W,S,A,D button but nothing happen.

I also tried using my mouse but still nothing.

'What the hell is going on with this game? How do I play it?'(Wilhem) I thought, stressed.

"Should I click on this tabs then? Let's check the Status-"

But before I could finish my words, a window screen appeared in front of my eyes.

'Did I perhaps lose my mind because of playing to many games?'(Wilhem)

I thought that it was just an illusion that were created because I was to tired but when I see the information inside the status, I started to get scared and feels something's wrong.

"What the hell!?!?"(Wilhem)

The status screen that I thought as an illusion previously was actually real and that fat baffled me.

I mean, the game never asked for my name or age but now it has my information and the evidence of seeing a screen hologram in front of my eyes without using any gadget made me believe that this is real.

"Wait, then does that mean my life in danger? I mean the system first question was whether I dare to put my life on the line or not. Alright, I should stop panicking and think about my next move if I want to keep my life."(Wilhem)

I look at the [Command] tab and tried to do my guess on it.

"Command, wake up, Karan."(Wilhem)

When I said that, the wolfmaster that was sleeping in peace before suddenly woke up with a shocked expression on his face.

Then I could hear his voice and a dialogue appeared on bottom of the screen.

He looked around first to search the owner of the voice he just heard but he couldn't find anyone on his sight.

His wolves also woke up in shock as their master suddenly stood up without any warning.

"Hmm!? What is that voice? It sounded very near to my ears but in the same time also felt distance. It even called my real name even though I never told it to anyone. Did I miss heard?"(Karan)

With this my guess was right.

From the look of it, the character could think and act for his self.

I continued with my experiment this time and checked the champion tab next.

There's only 1 choice there and it's the name of Karan.

I tab on it and information regarding Karan appeared floating in the air in front of me again.

Grade : Bronze

Ability : Lord of Wolves - Could tame all kind of wolves under his command and strengthen them.

Alpha Wolf Transformation : Could change the body to beast form and vice versa.

I look at the quest tab which has a red dot on the right top of it and opened it.

1. Task : Create a wolf pack

Requirement : Have a minimum of 10 wolves in your pack. (2/10)

Reward : 1 Random Low Miracle

That is the only quest I have right now, so I should focus on completing this quest first.

I decided to call my champion once again.

"Karan, my champion! Can you hear me?"(Wilhem)

"Who are- wait... Champion!? Are you perhaps a god? Did you choose me as your champion?"(Karan)

By a god, did he mean me?

So my role here in the game is as a god?

I should think about this later when I have more information, for now I can't make any speculation.

I decided to play along for now and act like a god.

"You're right. I have chose you as my champion.(Wilhem)

"Goodness! The Gods haven't forsake the beast race. The humans is not the only one who have a champion now! Oh mighty god, my this lowly follower of yours to know your holy name?"(Karan)

Did he just said a human champion?

I guess there's another player in this world, after all the game name is 'Champion Battle Realm' so the existence of another champion should be considered as another player existence as well.

I don't know whether this is right or not as it's only a speculation but I should stay low and build my strength in secret to keep safe.

I thought about creating an alias for me and I thought about using the name I always use in my games.

"You may call me Valethar. I have a mission for you, Karan. (Wilhem)

"It is my honor to do your task, lord Valethar!"(Karan)

"For the glory of the beast race, I need you as my representative to be strong. Gather 10 more wolves and create your own pack of wolves. The humans numbers are many so I want you to grow your force first."(Wilhem)

"But my lord, even if my class is beast tamer, I could only control 2 beast at maximum so what should this lowly one do?"(Karan)

Huh? But your skill said clearly that you can tame wolves without any limit though?

Wait, did his skill was mediocre before he become a champion and since he had become a champion now, the skill has been changed automatically by the system without him realizing it.

That make sense now that he got flustered from my task that he considered as impossible to do before.

Now how should I act and tell him about it? Ahh! I got an idea.

"I have granted a part of my power to you. From now on you will be Karan, the Wolf Master. You can tame as many wolf as you want now. I have open your limit so it's your time to show your worth to me. Don't disappoint me, Karan."(Wilhem)
