Troy got home a little earlier than usual the next day and found two sets of bags in the foyer as he exited the kitchen and walked into the house. One set of bags was his wife’s and his brow furrowed.
Only visitors used the front entrance. ‘Who could it be?’ he thought. He didn’t recall her mentioning a trip so maybe someone had asked to borrow the travel bags but next to them were the boys’ satchels and travel bags.
A slight panic filled his heart. Troy turned left into his living room and found Ritah sitting on the couch with her uncle.
Troy walked in and sat at his favourite spot. He greeted her uncle and then Ritah. After all the enquiries regarding the health and well-being of both sides were completed, Troy sat back in his chair and waited.
When Ritah dropped her head in shame as her uncle began to explain their presence in his matrimonial home, a cold sweat formed on Troy’s brow.
