34. Another Suitor

Glancing at her wood-trimmed office to make sure everything was in place Eve’s eye took in the magazine that had been left open on the coffee table to the right of her desk.

The sun shined through the French doors that led to the private garden just outside her office.

A few loose strands of hair escaped her neat French plait and she tucked them behind her ear.

A nervous glance at her laptop told her she’d just received the email she was waiting for all morning. She smiled. Today was already looking fabulous.

Reginald caught sight of her smile as he walked into her office. His eyes swept over its wood accented furnishing, and he found himself liking her taste.

It was classic, clean, and fresh. The view of the garden to his left as he walked in was beautiful in an almost wild and untamed way. He looked at Eve and smiled.

“Eve, you look stunning,” he stopped in front of her desk.
