44. Letting Go

“So, you’re letting her go just like that?” His cousin asked. 

Troy shrugged. What else could he do? It wasn’t like he could control himself when he was near her. 

He knew that what he felt was far from natural.

He had been livid with her before. They had had fights before but she knew when to back off. When she didn’t back off, he had always been able to walk away without so much as threatening her.

The frustration with himself was tearing him apart. Troy considered himself a disciplined man. Lately, he could not explain his own behaviour to himself, let alone someone else.

“I fucking love that girl. You know that I love her,” he looked around his office almost hopelessly.

“So why are you letting her go? Shit, what is going to happen to your kids? Those boys love her as if she’s their only mom. Did you even think about them?” Trent asked his cousin.
