A Bit of Blood

"I'm like the higher demons in regard to injury. I need blood." She looked at him and it took a second but he saw the realization hit her. He had a feeling she was best to ask, he didn't think she'd want to share with others if she did give. Admit she fed a creature her blood.

"Oh. Uh..." Definitely not what she was expecting, and she didn't think that he would ever admit that unless he really had too. It would be one more thing that those like Neil would hold against him. However he was asking not just taking. She didn't want to be like others here, the world was not white and black and she knew that. Being stingy or thinking of only yourself might get you so far, but in the end you would need help sooner or later. Now it was her turn to make the choice.

"I need it or I'm going to attack someone, no one here knows but Drake. I normally have the time to go and find others, not this time. I just need enough to go out and find someone. I'll be fast and it won't hurt. I don't feel malicious toward you, it's what I need right now." He hoped he didn't sound pleading, but the hunger was getting bad. Worse as his body healed the bad injuries he had and drained him.

"That's..." Terrifying? She thought him trustworthy, but she didn't know how much she'd place her life into his hands. She didn't know him, he had saved her life. What if she was wrong and he was really just killing the demon because he hated him? She just happened to be there at the time and was saved as a by product?

"Where do you have to um, take from?" She asked clearing her throat.

"Preferably where there is a major artery. It's faster that way." Well there were only so many places on the body that a major artery was close to the surface. The femoral artery in your leg, the carotid artery in the neck, and the auxiliary artery in the underside of the arm.

"You'll be fast, just take enough to get you where you need to go?" Was she really contemplating it? Drake had complete faith in him, and he had twenty some years to act out if he was going to.

"Yes." He said just watching her. She guessed that she owed him that much, he did save her life and she didn't think that being selfish and telling him no was a very kind thing to do. It was just a bit of blood. Besides what if he really did attack another because she told him no? It would be her fault and right here and now the situation was controllable.

"Okay, so long as you promise no more than you need." She said pointing at him and relaxing a bit. "I owe you my life." She spoke softly. She saw the relief in his eyes. It was instant and not the greedy or unnerving kind, just plain relief. That calmed her a bit, he moved from where he was over to her. She swallowed, this was going to be the oddest moment of her life. She knew it.

"Just relax." He said to her and reached forward pulling her to him. Easier said than done, he held her still and moved with confidence. He didn't hesitate or slow like he was unsure. It was kind of reassuring in a way to know that he knew what he was doing but alarming at the same time. Did he kill the others that he fed from?

She forced herself to relax, he swept the hair from her shoulder. She felt at a very great disadvantage with him so close. He was taller than her and stronger. His mouth touched the side of her neck and his left hand held the other side. While his right hand held her hip. It felt almost like a business transaction at first, and that made her smile a bit inside and calmed her.

There was a moment where she felt white hot pain. Like that of a knife slicing into her skin and she made a slight sound. However it left and as he said she didn't feel any pain, she could feel the pull of his mouth at her neck. A part of her always wondered what this was like. She'd seen it happen, seen the pain it could bring, but she'd seen pleasure as well. She'd never wanted to be close enough to a demon to find out.

He's not a demon. She reminded herself mentally, because if she thought that he was then she was aiding the enemy. She didn't want to think him that. He said he wasn't, that he was something else so she would believe him. Trust was hard to come by in their world, and gaining it was something that most found they craved once they knew it was there. Because it meant that you weren't completely alone, another was there for you.

After a moment she felt herself step closer, closing her eyes. She didn't know why she did it, but she did. The feel of his mouth there was...good, erotic almost. She felt a sigh leave her and it was like her mind wasn't quite her own. There was something smooth and solid behind her, she didn't remember that before. She did like the feel of him. Hard, muscular, the way that a man should feel.

Savon was starved, and the rush of blood down his throat was amazing. It hit his staving cells like a freight train and he pulled harder at her throat. He felt her go pliant and pulled her closer to him. Though she had stepped up against him first.

He always preferred to take from a woman, he liked the feel of them against him. Soft, like Kayla did. Her scent was sweet but her taste was stronger like a sharp wine. He pressed against her, her back to the door. It wasn't really a sexual need, but he could make it that way if he wanted. Besides she did respond to him, not like the others had. He hadn't even meant for her to feel anything, just a quick fix. Apparently his other half wasn't thinking the same.

Her hands slid up his stomach and over his shoulders. Her right hand catching in his hair, she made a needful sound as he swept his tongue over the mark on her neck. It would heal with in minutes, not that he was concerned about it. Her mind was in a kind of haze at the moment. Which helped removed any pain, but tended to add other sensations instead.

Actually he found that he was more concerned with the woman pressed against him than his wounds, he had a sharp desire that hit him. She rubbed against him, she had the feel of a woman that would take what she wanted. That was appealing to him. He'd enjoy how she could please him, however right here and now wasn't really the opportune time. So instead he kept those thoughts at bay, and had to let go of her.

Sad. Man he was screwed up inside. Look what he was doing to a woman offering help.

Of course it is. Just make the others go away. That dark part said, and it would if he let it.

We can't control the humans like we do demons.

I can't control them, the human part with my power could. Savon froze at the though. One he'd never had before. He'd never tried to control the humans, he didn't think that he could because no demon could really control them. Well, they could physically not mentally like he could do to other demons, but wasn't that what he did when he fed? Controlled what they felt, went into their minds?

He raised his head and looked down at Kayla. Her eyes cleared but she still seemed a bit confused. He could smell the arousal from her and it was so very appealing. He'd never gotten such a strong reaction from one that he didn't purposely cause in them. Expect Anna, but that was different, he'd never fed from her and she was attracted before hand. Without his help.

"Good?" She asked awkwardly and clearly wanted to step away from him. His hands were on her hips and he was still against her. He moved back slightly watching her deciding a few things.

"Yes, thanks." Kayla gave a nod and moved aside so that she could open the door. His eyes were bright again and the way that he was watching her. It made her nervous and excited at the same time. That was dangerous water right there. She'd given him what he asked, she felt that her debt was paid.

But how good that had felt, and that shocked her a bit. Better than she thought and she'd felt needy and not herself. She went to step from the room, and stopped at the sound of his voice.

"I would appreciate it if you didn't mention this to anyone." She glanced at him and gave a nod before leaving and moving down the hall. She took in a breath of the musty air and went up the stairs to take a right up toward the common room. Yeah, she wasn't going to tell others, they'd think something was more wrong with her for letting him.

She heard the shower room door open but didn't look back as she moved around the corner. She touched her neck as she moved down the hall. She could still feel his mouth there. He hadn't been mean about it or greedy. But it was like she could feel the pull through her entire body, she looked at her hand. No blood and it didn't feel like there was a mark there.
