Dangerous Plans

Savon was sitting in a chair looking around the large room. He had his elbows on his knees and his thumbs braced against his chin. Next to him sat Drake, they had a conversation for a little while about him going and who'd he'd prefer to take with him. It would be him and one other. Preferably a woman but if none of them wanted too then he'd have to go with someone else.

They would only go for a recon mission, just to see the lay out and where things were. Much easier if it was him and one other. He'd also told Drake about his hell-hound problem. Which he didn't find a problem anymore. Drake was surprisingly calm about it, he trusted that Savon would keep him under control.

There wasn't much to be done with it attached to him. It was relieving to tell him. That told Savon that he did care what Drake thought, it just made him sigh inwardly. Obviously to him Drake was the father figure he never had. Which led to other thoughts of those here and what they all were to him.

His gaze moved around the room and came to rest on Kayla. He watched her move across the room to stop and talk with Todd and a woman named Lee. She had her hair back up in a lose bun, he liked her hair down he decided. Drake turned back to him as Neil left them and the conversation. Which just left the two of them standing there now, after all this was a lot of danger and responsibility being put on Savon to do this.

"Do you have a problem with Kayla?" Drake asked next to him. Savon turned and looked at him.

"No."

'Yes, I can't seem to get her to myself.' His inner self purred.

"Then why are you staring her down?" Savon looked at Drake for a moment and then gave a kind of laugh. Drake looked over at Kayla with a thoughtful expression.

"She's a good looking woman." Drake added

"More than." He said. 'And she tasted damn good too. Soft, sweet.'

'You're not helping.'

'I have a one track mind, primitive. I see no reason to not indulge in the desire.' Savon's inner voice said with a rumble.

'I didn't notice.' If only he could shut that part of himself off sometimes. However it was just as alive as the rest of him.

"She's not exactly a love'em and leave'em type. Not my impression of her, level head on that one." Savon looked at him.

"Thanks?" He said. Drake gave him a half smile and pointed over at Anna. His look saying everything and Savon responded to it.

"I was straight forward with Anna, didn't realize she was so obsessive till after."

"So you don't think like that with her?" Drake said indicating Kayla.

"What are you, my father?" He said.

"Kind of feel like it, but if I was him I don't think that I would even give advice or care who you were looking at." Drake said seeing that nearly everyone was in the room now, and they would have to talk about the new development with the group.

"Don't worry. I wouldn't do anything that wasn't wanted."

"Good to know." Drake said moving forward. Drake cleared his throat and gave a loud whistle, everyone grew quiet. There were perhaps thirty people here, one of the largest groups of non owned humans.

Drake started talking, telling them about the group that had arrived and what the group was doing. He then told them what he thought that he would like to do, and the room was silent for a minute. Out of this group only about half really went out to fight. Though all of them were trained because they had to be. However this mission was more of an acting one, and required a good memory.

"So, it's just going to be a couple of us? How are we to go out and do this when the demons will scoop any human not with a master?" One man asked.

"He's going to play the part." Neil said indicating Savon, he just kind of stood there. Not all of them knew really what he was. They left him alone, assumed that he was freakish and that was fine with him. He found that he didn't care for the spot light.

"Well at least you won't have to worry about accidentally being sold to someone." Todd said half jokingly but had a seriousness about him.

"You'll have to go to the place that they work and reside in." Drake said. "Savon has already agreed to go, and is our best bet at this. Both to get what we need and to return. We just need someone to go with. It needs to be a master and pet situation."

"You know that it sounds psychotic." Lee said.

"Yes, it's a huge risk." Drake said. "But it's only if you want to go, no one will be forced." He added. "If you want to help with this task. I ask that you stay, the rest may go." There was sudden talking and movement.

At the end of it, there were five people left not including Drake or Savon. Neil, Todd, Kayla, Anna, and Pat stood there. Ian was as well, though he wouldn't be going. Those that went had to be on the younger side. He was considered a leader here so his input was normally wanted.

"Come." Drake said and they moved over to the sitting area. They moved and sat down there and it was a rather serious air about them. "We are only going to send him and one other person. Safer that way, easier."

"It's better to send a woman with him." Ian said with a sigh looking at Kayla and Anna. They both knew the better choice out of the group. At least fighting wise, though Anna might prove to be the better actress.

"Even if it wasn't a woman that went, the person that goes has to do exactly what I say. You can't talk back or argue. No matter what I say or do." Savon spoke very seriously. "When we are with them any human that talks back or is disrespectful in any way is punished accordingly. There is no faking or pretending this. If you look weak in a demons eyes they will try to take what is yours. We have to do it, we have to be like them." Savon hoped that they were getting it. He would have to harm them if push came to shove with another demon and their demands.

"Exactly." Drake gave Neil a look, he gave a shrug.

"I know it wouldn't work well if I went." Neil said though he stayed where he was. "The two of us can't work together. That's a given." At least they agreed on something.

"It's really between me and Kayla." Anna said looking at them. "He's better off if a woman goes as a pet, just what is he going to do with a man with him?" She said. Obviously Savon preferred the opposite sex. So having a pet being a woman would not stand out like having a man as a pet. The rest would think Savon was trying to sell his male, like it was a breeder or something.

"How do either of you feel about this?" Drake asked them both.

"I think that it's risky, but a smart thing to do. These two are dangerous and taking them down would be a huge blow." Kayla remarked. Kayla wanted to go, because she thought that she could add to it with her talent. Though if there were to many people she couldn't use her talent well. It would be like standing in the middle of a crowded room and everyone was shouting at you.

"It doesn't require fighting, just acting and finesse. I feel like there isn't much I get to help with. I know that I'm not the strongest fighter but this I can do."

'Just bet she could and a lot of other things as well.' Savon thought to himself, but there was something shouting in his head no. That to take her would be a great mistake, he glanced at Drake who had an unsure look in his eye.

"The only reason I would ask Kayla to go first is because you have your talent to aid in this." Kayla gave a nod and Anna just sat looking stoic. "Would you be willing to do this?"

"I'm sitting here aren't I?" She said with a smile and nodded. "Yes I would."

"Unless anyone else feels that there is a better choice of course." Drake looked at the others and no one really spoke up. "We figure that tomorrow would be the best time for you to leave. You'd reach the city by late afternoon. Night is when they said that the place is busiest."

Demons need humans to survive, and as such they still needed to let them live a kind of life. They had to eat, and sleep and do other human things. Also they needed electricity and had to keep the power plants operational.

It was like a normal city, without the humans in control and they were subject to the will of those more powerful than them. Savon had been in a couple of cities, he found it degrading and not a place he would enjoy. At least he wasn't human.

No one was going to make Savon a slave and do what they said, he'd kill himself first. He couldn't bend to another's will, it just wasn't in him. Hence why Drake found him at age eleven coated in blood.

"Okay." Kayla said and after a bit more talking on what they would need and do they moved off. Savon stayed where he was as did Drake. As the group dispersed everyone was now wondering how well this was going to go. If they were going to get the information they needed and what the cost might be.
