Megan's A Charm

The shawarma is right in front of me, neatly wrapped, I don't know what next to do. I am hoping Megan would start eating so I'd follow her lead but she is soo much concentrating on her phone. I exhale sharply, pick up my fork and knife and try slicing a piece out of it but it keeps scattering and it was quite obvious people were laughing at me.

"Oh no no that's wrong." Megan said as she takes the cutlery from me. "You've never had one of these before have you?"

"Nahh. Sorry, I should have said something."

Megan chuckles.

"Well I'm glad I get to be the one to teach you." She said with a smile. "Follow my lead." She picks up the shawarma and takes a big bite out of it. "Hmmmnnn soo goood."

"Ok here goes." I do the same, the moment it went into my mouth I couldn't help explain the sensation that went through my body, it is completely different from every other thing I have eaten up until now, it is soooo good. "Wow! This is goooodddd!!!"

Megan laughs. "Welcome to the world of shawarma."

After taking the shawarma, I get some more for my sisters as well. Then Megan and I take a walk to her car and she drives me home.

"It's been fun having you around." Megan said.

"Likewise, thank you for everything. I'm really happy we're friends."

"Oh before I forget." She reaches into her bag and brings out a  phone. "I got you this, so you wouldn't have to use the house line anymore ☺️."

"Wow! I, I, i don't know what to say..."

"You don't have to say anything, just take it."

"Thank you." I hug her tight. "Thank you" I said with love.

"You're welcome, I should get going." she replied.

"Alright, I'll see you at school."

I watch her drive away before going in.

"I'm home..." I said but it seems everyone is already fast asleep, the TV is still on and I couldn't believe my eyes. It is my dad on the news, I quickly turn it off and head to bedroom.

I take a shower and wake both Harper and Luna.

"Heyy I got you guys something." I give them the shawarma and a bottle of coke each.

"Shawarma? Thank you." Harper said.

"Thank you." Luna added.

After eating Harper immediately goes back to sleep but Luna stays up.

"Hi..." She said and she sits on my bed.

"Hi, you still up?"

"You got a phone!?!?" She said.

"Yeah, Megan got it for me."

"Woooww, you're sooo lucky. Let me see." She snatches it from my hand. "Wow it's a Samsung, do you even know how to use this thing?"

#obviously, I've been using phone since I was five.# I said in my head.

"Nahhh but I do have an idea." I replied.

"I can be your tutor." She said as she laid down beside me.

"And what would a young lady like you be able to teach me?" I said in a sarcastic manner.

"As a matter of fact I'm the CEO of Huawei Company 😁😁" she replied.

"Ohhh c'mon that's too extreme 😁😂🤣" I said as I laugh out loud". I keep it in mind that I'll buy her a share of the company.

We both gist and laugh till we both fall asleep. I wake up three hours later to the continuous ringing of my phone, it's Megan calling. I wonder why she could be calling.

"Hello..."

"Yo! What's up?" She said.

"I'm... I don't know, good?"

"You sound tired. Wait! Are you still sleeping??"

"Yeah yeah, why? What time is it?" I check my phone. "Woah!!"

"Yep..."

"I could swear I slept for just three hours."

"Sleepy head, I'm almost at your house, let's jog together."

"That'd be great."

"See ya." She hangs up.

I put on my kit and meet up with Megan an hour later.

"Hmn, you smell nice." Megan said as I approach her.

"Thank you. You look good, sure you're here for exercise?"

"Sure😂."

Megan and I takes a few laps around the block, it's almost seven so we end the exercise.

"I'll see you at school." Megan said as she drives away, I go inside and clean up for school.

I repeat the same process with Megan for a whole week and meet up with Couch Maxwell on the track for another test.

"No." Couch Maxwell said without even letting me talk.

"What? I haven't even said anything yet."

"Don't care and don't wanna hear it, you're on the team, go register your name with team Andy."

"But I hav... Wait what?? I'm, I'm on the team??"

"Unless you don't want to be?"

"No no I'm good I'm good. Thank you." I said then leave to go meet Andy and the rest of the crew.

"Welcome 🙂" Andy said.

"How did you know?"I asked.

"You made the team since day one, couch just wanted you to work on yourself.  Cookie said.

"Megan, you're in Andy's team too?" I asked with excitement.

"Yep, glad you could join us on time though." Megan replied.

" With Andy's broken toe, we're going to need all hands on deck." Adrian said.

"What do ya say Woody, wanna take first leg for the upcoming race against Mountain high next month?" Emily asked.

"Woah woah woah, slow down guys. Don't pressure him." Megan said.

"If he performs well during training, I see no reason why he shouldn't take first leg, I mean with a take off almost on par with Luke??? We'd be good." Adrian replied.

"Yeah supposingly he doesn't collapse during the race that is." Madison said.

"Heyyy..." Megan said to Madison.

"The truth hurts dear." Madison replied.

"Guys guys guys, no need for argument. Couch will be the one to decide who replaces me, till then..." Adrian said as he places a hand on my shoulder "...we're going to have an hangout tonight to officially welcome Woody to the team, that would be all now get back to training." Claps.

Everybody goes back to their daily routine, I look around trying to find Megan but she's not here today and I wonder if she's ok. I clear my head and join the team to train today and it is fun and exciting, too bad I wasn't on Luke's team though but I guess the coach wants me to be a match up for Luke.

After training, I clean up and go for class, I meet up with Megan at the car park and she drives me to a location.

"This isn't home." I said as she pull over.

"Yeah yeah I know, I want to take some pictures 😁😁😁 and I want you to take them." She replied.

"Lol, that's so hilarious, why me?"

"Cause it has to be you 😁 I want it to be memorable." She said as she poses. "C'mon, and don't make me look ugly."

I laugh and take the first shot but it was blurred so I delete and take some few pictures but I delete and save just three that I think I really like.



"Woooww!!!" She said as she checks em.



"You're sooo going to be my personal camera guy." She said with a smile.



"Done." She said as she uses this third slide for my wall paper. "What do you think?"

"Is that really necessary?" I asked.

"You don't like it?🥺" She said with a dull face.

"Oh I do I do..." I said as I take my phone from her.

"Cool." She said as she gets back into the car.

She drops me home and I pretend like I'm about to enter my house, after she drives away I stop and board a taxi.
