CHAPTER 2 - Cranky

A noisy morning for a massive house. "Shit, take that away from me," a shout could be heard from the furious man.

Earlier, the man was immediately angry when he smelled someone bringing food to his room. He had just heard the door slam as the maid opened it. He immediately shouted and threw a flower vase at the woman who entered carrying a tray full of food prepared for his breakfast. The tray fell when the man's flower base hit and the food spread on the very smooth and clean floor of the angry man.

"Pick it up and clean it up!" The man in the room ordered. The maid's eyes filled with tears as she bent down to pick up the food scattered on the floor.

He was Peterson, thirty-six years old but very very hot-tempered and always angry with the maids.

He also owns a very large house. He was the boss of several people who were with him in the house, including his maids and some guards who guarded his safety, and his driver Louis. Other than the aforementioned, it does not include his sister and his parents who own a house of his own.

Peterson was the only man in the family. Heir. But, because of his secret illness, he stayed only in his dark room. It does not leave his room so that no one will know what his true condition is.

No one knows his illness. As mentioned, even his family did not know about the disease he was going through. Except for one. His friend, his assistant. The man who always stands by him, his substitute at times when he is needed in the company.

The dark room serves as his office today. Whenever he needed to face a meeting. His friend comes to guide him and be his spokesperson at times when he needs to answer questions. Sometimes he also answers when necessary.

It was a big thing for the man to be quiet and silent in the office. Even in the meeting where his friend is the one, who is facing everyone in the meeting room even then, his condition is still fine. Not like now.

The man did not expect that the blurring of his eyes would lead to a serious illness and cause him to lose his sight completely.

There is still a way to save his permanent blindness. But he did not want to leave the country for eye surgery.

He is afraid that someone will find out about his condition when he leaves the country for no reason. Especially now that he is in danger of losing a position in the company by the time someone discovers his health condition, especially some of his opponents in the position given to him by his father when his father resigned from the company and decided to enjoy the years together with his wife.

But many of his father's opponents were savage and wanted to get his position in the company. His dad strictly instructed him not to let his long-term position, which he had guarded during his long tenure as president of the company, his dad didn't want to go to the opponent.

"Peterson, what did you do again?" Dave was surprised when he opened the door of his friend's room.

Dave, the man he trusted above all, had also arrived. He was one of his closest friends and everyone knew him.

He met Dave while he was in high school. While Peterson is in the garden of the school, he meets Dave while he was robbed by the groups that often bully him. Dave saves him from the group.

Since then they have become close friends and often together, not a day goes by that Dave leaves Peterson. It was just always by Peterson's side so no one could hurt his friend. If some students look at Dave, he looks like a massive bodyguard for Peterson while he and Peterson were together.

Dave is a big man, he can't hide his courage and strength in fighting against anyone.

The day came when Peterson asked for a favor for his friend Dave, he took Dave to be his bodyguard except for a close friend.

Peterson finds out that his friend Dave needs a job. So he thought of just offering him a job so that they would always be together and never be separated.

Dave agreed to his offer. But, it turned down the big money Peterson offered in exchange for being its bodyguard. The only compensation Dave demanded was just the equivalent of his expenses on his tuition. Except for Dave's daily expenses, his meals, the house where he can stay, and school needs. This is what the two agreed on in exchange for Dave watching over him.

After they graduate from their studies. He hired Dave to work with him as his assistant after his father introduced him as the company's new successor president.

"Come out first, clean that later," Dave ordered the maid.

"Wait, I'll be the one to clean that. Just ask me for a rag and something I can use to clean it." The maid nodded.

"Thank you," he replied.

"Please just leave it outside the door." He ordered the maid again before she left the room.

After the maid left Peterson's room. Peterson was the one he turned to. He saw in Peterson's face that he was still disgusted while Dave looked at his friend's face. Dave thought that the maid might have suddenly entered Peterson's room without knocking so he was so angry.

"What is it that makes your head heat up? Why are you suddenly angry with the maid? You immediately threw a flower vase. You didn't feel sorry for him." Dave sighed. "How many maids have you stoned?" He added that he was worried about his friend's condition.

"Okay, don't answer." Dave picked up some crystals scattered on the floor. "Are you hungry? I'll get you something to eat in the kitchen." Dave said again looking at his silent friend. It didn't even answer him and he noticed its deep sigh.
