"Hi, Ella, are you?" Asked one of the youngest maids Sofia met at Peterson's house.
She found out that there were ten maids in the house where she was temporarily staying.
She also found out that the housemates in Peterson's house were almost entirely new except for Miss Thelma.
Almost all were newly hired maids because many left and resigned.
Miss Thelma was Peterson's longest-serving maid.
Sofia also learns that Miss Thelma raised Peterson.
Miss Thelma is also older than the others.
At the age of seventy-one, she still looked young and she was still stronger than the other maids in Peterson's house.
She asked Dave questions before Dave left Peterson's house. It says it will come back later to check on her.
"Sofia," Sofia smiled thinly at Ella.
Ella was the one she saw now as she walked into the kitchen.
Ella was the woman she saw crying down from the upstairs the first day she got to Peterson's house.
She wanted to ask about it now. But she was just embarrassed.
She noticed that Ella looked kind. She was quickly comfortable when she approached her and greeted her when she saw her walking towards the kitchen.
"Your name is Sofia? Is Sir David your boyfriend?" Sofia laughed at what she heard.
"Why is it obvious?" She asked Ella jokingly. She laughed again at the reaction and the look on Ella's face.
"Just kidding, you might believe. He's not my boyfriend," Sofia sighed.
"Yes, he's not my boyfriend," smiled Sofia.
"He's not my type." Sofia lies as he laughs as she says again to Ella, who does not believe what she says.
"Dave is my friend. I met him because of an accident and that's when we met and he offered me a part-time job." Sofia clarified.
"So I'm here because of his offer to help him be his friend's maid while he's gone," Sofia added as Ella walked towards the small cabinet where the glass is and took a glass then she walked to the refrigerator.
Ella opened the refrigerator and took out a jug with only juice. She translated to the glass then she took it to where Sofia was sitting.
Ella handed the juice to Sofia. "Drink first," it offered.
"That's right, that's why I saw you last time here seated on the sofa," Ella said, sipping the juice.
"Yap, I also saw you come down the stairs," Sofia replied as Ella's face changed after remembering what happened that day.
"I'm sorry, did I mention something you don't like?" Sofia suddenly worried that she might have said something wrong or that Ella didn't like it.
"Nothing. I just remember that day. Sir Peterson's head is hot. "
Ella was the first to open up to what Sofia would have wanted to ask why she was crying the day she saw her coming down the stairs.
"They said Sir Peterson was not like that before, Miss Thelma said that Sir Peterson was a good man. That's why Miss Thelma often says that we will just understand him." Said Ella. She put the glass on the table.
"It's just that he is so hard to understand so we can understand what he is going through. I even heard that a woman broke his heart and the woman left him behind. But I'm not sure. Because he's so scared of being angry."
"Is he really scary?" Sofia was nervous at what she heard. She couldn't swallow the juice she was drinking. She felt like it was just blocking her throat and didn't want to continue in her throat.
She kept thinking not to continue to work with Peterson when while she and Ella were talking, Miss Thelma came.
Miss Thelma entered the kitchen and looked at them. "What are you doing? Is it time for a break now?" Miss Thelma asked. She stared at Sofia.
Miss Thelma stops to walk.
It suddenly stopped when Miss Thelma saw them talking seriously. Miss Thelma had just arrived from the supermarket and bought the things she needed for the kitchen.
Miss Thelma was the cook in Peterson's house.
Miss Thelma is also the caretaker who takes care of everyone. So it's pretty strict when it comes to the maids at Peterson's house.
Dave mentions Miss Thelma to Sofia.
Before Dave went to work, he also recounted Miss Thelma's slight strictness at home. But Dave says that Sofia doesn't have to worry because she will be able to get along with it.
It's just that Miss Thelma looks like she's digging into Sofia's stomach, that's why Sofia is nervous.
The juice Sofia drank seemed to want to go back and go out.
She couldn't finish the content of the glass that she drank because she felt embarrassed while Miss Thelma caught up with them.
"Miss Thelma, it turns out that Sofia will be the new maid to Sir Peterson. So now I won't be the one to go up there to bring what he needs and Sir Peterson's food. Sofia will do everything you ask me to do frequently."
There was a smile on Ella's face as she introduced Sofia to Miss Thelma. It looks like Sofia still can't move because of Miss Thelma's looks.
Miss Thelma looked at Sofia from the head, down to her feet, and up to her face.
"Sofia, right?" nodded Sofia
"Go to Peterson's room, wake him up, and tell him I'll send his food soon." Miss Thelma ordered coldly, Sofia sighed.
"Okay," Sofia replied.
"Knock first before you enter so you won't be shouted at." Miss Thelma instructed Sofia. She stopped walking on the floor. She turned to Miss Thelma.
"Peterson doesn't like anyone who doesn't knock on the door every time someone enters his room. If he does not answer. You knock loudly and if he still doesn't answer, then open the door slowly. "Miss Thelma instructed Sofia again.
"Peterson is kind. Just don't disturb him because his head heats up fast. So just be patient with him, and just understand the situation he is going through." Miss Thelma said again as she took out one by one from the plastic bags everything she bought at the supermarket.
"All right, go to her room," Miss Thelma ordered again, Sofia felt the way Miss Thelma spoke and commanded her as if she was pushing her up the stairs. Towards Peterson's room.
"Okay," Sofia replied softly. She walked up the stairs to go upstairs to Peterson's room.
She was nervous as if her chest was bouncing with the force of nervousness that now was the first day she would face Peterson without Dave.
Please guide me, God. Sofia prayed as she stepped to her feet and was barely in front of Peterson's room.
Sofia knocked as Miss Thelma instructed her. No one answers from within. So she knocked again. She repeated the knock as loudly as Miss Thelma had instructed her.
She even knocked on the door a third time. Without answering she slowly opened the door and turned the doorknob.
It's too dark in the room.
Sofia could not see the man inside in the extreme darkness. Even the curtain blocked the window and no light could infiltrate because of the very dark color of the curtain that was placed.
The light is all off.
Sofia can't turn the light switch on the wall.
Sofia also finds it difficult to walk in a hurry when she cannot see where she is walking.
As Sofia thought. She accidentally slipped on the slippery floor. She did not know why the floor she was walking on was wet.
Her hip hit the floor with the force of her fall.
Sofia's face frowned at the excruciating pain of her hip hitting the hard cement.
Even an arm she had that she accidentally erected before she fell to the floor. It hurts so much. She felt that her arm was broken or pinched.
In extreme pain, Sofia could not lift her body. She could not move her arm or stand up so that she could stand up.
I'm unlucky, on my first day? Sofia, what misfortune do you have today? Why are you so stupid? Why didn't you notice that the floor was wet?" Sofia whispered as she frowned at the pain in her hip and couldn't lift her body to stand up.
Sofia was still frowning and she was blown away. As she rolls her eyes around in the darkroom.
Sofia digs in her mind, while she guesses where the light switch is positioned.
Sofia forced herself to stand.
Sofia was finally able to lift her body and stand even in extreme pain and she was having difficulty because of the feeling that something seemed to break in her body part.
Sofia holds the wall.
Sofia walked slowly until she found the light switch and turned it on.
The whole area around the room lit up.
Sofia sighed as she took a deep breath when she finally found the light switch and saw the bed where the man was lying.
The man she purposes why she was in the room
