CHAPTER 4:
He wasn't anyone who gave choices, but for the sake of Lian, he gave Mrs Oliver Stone a choice. It's not like any of those choices were good, but at least there was a choice right? He was never in a mood to bargain and has never bargained with anyone or entertained nonsense. Man of action if you like.
"You'll give me the letter or I'll buy the hotel." He gave Mrs Oliver Stone a choice.
Both the choices were bad. Well, it looks like firing Lian wasn't a heavy choice, but Mrs Stone, it was. She loved Lian like she would love her own daughter. She was hardworking, loving and above all, loved her back in return. It didn't mean Lian didn't have enemies, of course, people could hate you for nothing, or simply for being too beautiful and too loving as Lian was. Mrs Stone wasn't ready to let Lian go.
On the other hand, buying the hotel was even not close to being bad, it was worse. This was what her husband left for her when he died. She vowed to protect the hotel with all her heart. Well, no bargaining so she gave the letter to Fidel. One question remained, how did Lian get to offend Fidel?
Strange enough, she didn't hear from Lian after that. Her phone remained turned off and Mrs stone couldn't risk going to Lian's home. She knew the relationship between Lian and her family was a rocky one and if she had to way from a scale of one to ten, she would extend it to the negatives so she could choose a negative ten instead of a neutral one.
So, when Lian referred to Fidel as the devil, Mrs Stone already trembled from inside. "You just got your job back ok? Please mind your words."
"I wish I could mama." Lian smiled at her.
"You seem to have lost weight. Where were you and, didn't you get enough care?" Mrs Stone asked while assessing Lian.
"Umm... it's a long story." Lian smiled. It was true she had lost weight, but how can she explain to Mrs Stone that it happened when she was forcefully married off to Fidel Nolan? The God in every girl's dream? How could she say she stayed in the darkroom without a meal for God knows how many days until she wished she could just die?
"You little thing... I asked you to come to my house, no one would harass you there. What you did was simply shake that your little head and say nothing." Mrs Oliver Stone complained. When she fully understood the hate Lian was going through with her family, she asked her to come over but Lian wasn't someone who would want you to save her every time. She was already grateful she had a job, as for shelter, she can still live on. After all, she never complained, did she?
"No one harassed me. I was accumulating so much weight so I went into seclusion, did some meditation and here I am, back in shape. Am I not beautiful? I mean petite, not really slender, but..." Lian was cut short.
"Will you stop? You almost finished off your butt!" Mrs Oliver Stone snorted.
"Well... Am sorry but I didn't finish it off. Besides, look at me, I didn't loose my complexion. What I need to do is, eat and get back to my former body which you like. Ok?"
"Yeah. So, you have a lot of work at your desk. You know, I didn't get another assistance since I was still mourning your sudden resignation and wondering where you disappeared to. Don't ever loose connection with me you little thing. You got me worried." Mrs Oliver Stone said patting Lian's long hair.
"I promise, but if I don't give you stress, who will?" Lian said jokingly.
"Get back to your office, am just too happy you're here."
Lian walked out. She knew why Mrs. Oliver wasn't worried about Eva. They were close, but Eva had asked for an off. Besides, all the time she spend and the Silver Castle, she still had her phone. So Mrs Oliver wasn't worried about her.
Lian sat in her chair. The office was still the way she left it. She placed her new phone on the desk and opened the drawer. Her new phone wasn't the recent model and God knows where Fidel took it after she was locked up, but when she came out, she had a new phone. Lian loved fashion, yes, but she couldn't go too extreme to getting what is latest on the market every day because her salary wasn't that fancy to keep her updated.
Downstairs, the hotel workers except for Eva and a few others who loved minding their own business, were gathered and gossiping. This were a bunch of workers who thought that even though Lian was blessed with beauty, brains and all of takes to be an outstanding goddess, she didn't deserve the love and care around her.
"Well, you guys didn't analyse the situation well. Lian must have offended someone in the Nolan family. Remember, Fidel personally showed up for her resignation letter!" Lucy said.
"I had never seen him in my entire life. Thanks to Lian's recklessness I saw the God with my own eyes." Sarah said while creating a great fantasy in her mind of her with Fidel if she was given a chance to have him.
"I don't care if she did offend someone or not, am only happy she's back." A voice said from behind. The girls turned to look and Eva passed them into the elevator. They both stopped and looked at her.
"She thinks she special just because they're close." Lucy complained as she started walking back to the kitchen.
"Wait, girls... Someone is coming!"
They both looked at the walkway outside and a lady smartly dressed with her hair tied in a ponytail walked in. It would be a lie if the girls didn't admire this lady.
"Excuse me, can I meet with my madam?" Bella asked politely.
"Your madam? Who is your madam?" Sarah asked? "You're too beautiful to be someone's worker aren't you?"
"Thanks for the compliment." Bella said as politely as she always was. The girls looked at each other, then back at Bella.
Bella was just a maid at the Silver Castle yes, but Fidel wasn't an oppressive boss. Besides, he did allow his maid to dress smartly while going out. After all not anyone was to look down on his workers. Seriously speaking, his workers were beautiful and whenever going out, they would be smart in casual dressing. They were also polite and well trained and right now, Bella looked like someone's secretary, not housemaid.
