CHAPTER 26: HOW IT BEGAN ON THE THIRD DAY

"Thank heavens you're my sister. I would have vacated that place without looking back." Anes said. "Dad, I need you to put the company on collateral. We can't risk losing a home because of the bill. I'll give Lian as call and tell her about the card."

Late evening.

Lian and Fidel had just arrived from work because he said he had somewhere to take her. Ryan wasn't coming for reasons best known to him and Max had called to complain that following Ryan was the worst thing he ever did and that Ryan was just boring. Luckily, Ryan also wasn't going to allow him everywhere. In fact, he didn't want to be followed around especially with the Nolan's guards. He didn't want anyone to start looking at her like some rich guy. So he send Max back and decided most of the time he'll spend it at the hotel and pop up when needed. The hotel had enough luxuries.

It was the third day so everyone was alert for any romantic approach from their boss. It was not like they were gossipers, but Fidel's say that day made everyone curious especially knowing that only Lian was capable of making their boss that tempted. And... He had said he was still virgin. Funny, but sparked curiosity.

So a convoy of cars left for Grand hotel that evening with Lian changed in a sky blue dress and shiny heels while Fidel was in a blue suit. In fact, they almost marched their dressing code. Lian was so happy and Fidel was having an evil smile on his face. Adam, who was the driver wanted to say something but kept quiet. The journey was less adventurous and they arrived well. Lian, knowing she was not knew here was the first to rush out of the car and run towards the hotel with an intention of seeing Mrs Oliver Black and assuring her she was ok. In fact, she had decided to tell her she was married to Fidel Nolan, apologise for hiding the truth from her and introducing her to him.

Lucy had heard the hooting and when she came out, the first person she met was Lian. "Didn't you hear we're hosting a special visitor today? Ooh God! I didn't know it would be the most handsome man to ever walk on earth." Lucy said reading the car logo from a distance.

"So, Lucy you mean I shouldn't get in? Just like that? Am I not the assistant manager here?" Lian wanted to laugh.

"Mrs Oliver didn't tell us you were coming so, I feel I can't let you in for now." Lucy said trying to provoke her so she could disgrace her in front of the great Fidel. Lian read through her mind and laughed.

"Don't let me embarrass you in front of your dream man. Am good at that." She teased. Lucy stepped aside as she watched Fidel match forward, some guards remaining behind, some following and Adam and Kai on both of his sides. In fact, Kai looked like a camera man not a guard, but he was with the uniform.

When Fidel got to them, he literally ran his hands around Lian's waist. Lucy thought her eyes were playing tricks at her again and so she opened them wide. In fact, she secretly pinched herself. Lian smiled.

"You aren't welcoming the special guest yet. Should I welcome him for you?" Lian asked. She knew what this girls thought of her after all.

"Umm.. Sorry sir." Lucy forced a misshaped smile with a long face and said, "welcome to Grand hotel. Enjoy our services."

"My wife, did something go on?" Fidel asked making Lucy to swallow hard the blood that leaked in her throat.

"Nothing. I work here so we were asking each other about the time we missed being together. Isn't it Lucy?" Lian said smiling. Lucy nodded like a robot who's remote control had been pressed to nod. She looked at the man, actually after hearing much about him, she had met him today in person. She felt what people said about him wasn't even enough because he was an angel on his own. Very outstanding.

Lian and Fidel no longer paid any attention to her, they moved in. Adam and Kai stood at the door, with Kai obviously ready for his evening post as a paparazzi. Lian had send Mrs Oliver Black a message to come downstairs and meet her man.

"She is obviously over happy today!" Adam said to Kai after Lucy staggered in.

"It's the third day remember? I guess that's why boss had this whole idea of bringing her here for dinner." Kai said making Adam embarrassed.

Meanwhile, as they waited, Lian decided to narrate to Fidel how they met with Mrs Oliver Black. "The story of Mrs Oliver Black and I doesn't start today, not even the year she offered me the job. No. If there is anyone I owe my love its her. When in lower classes, I had a friend called Cynthia. She was very beautiful, very charming and I would never get bored around her. During the parents meeting, of course dad didn't come. They were punishing those whose parents hadn't come. Cynthia saw I would be punished so she did beg her mother to register my name under her. Guess who her mother was? Mrs Oliver Black. I was so happy that day and she too was happy because she had met a friend her daughter had been telling her about. So Mrs Oliver Black came to know everything about me and my miserable life. She vowed to stand in for me always plus the fact that I looked like her former friend in Sky Wing. She even told me Sky Wing still practices dark magic. Unfortunately Cynthia died during a road accident. I was broken really. So I became close to Eva. We are still close even now and Mrs Oliver Black never lost hope in me. In fact, she says in me she sees her old friend and her daughter too. So, she did offer me a job when I had none because she said she won't let me suffer when in me she sees the only people she valued." Lian explained, partly happy, partly emotional.

When the elevator stopped, Mrs. Oliver Black was shocked.  In fact, she saw with her teeth now. She didn't think she was coming to meet Fidel. She knew he was coming yes, but Lian texting her to come and meet her man, she thought maybe a random boyfriend she had started dating because she never knew Lian was ever in love.

Lian read her shock so she went to meet her. "you asked my ring right? So he's here and I want you to tell him to take care of me."

"Little Lian, how can I do that? Are you even serious? He is a great man. How did you meet? You want me to talk in his face? Are you ok?" Mrs. Oliver asked many questions at once.

"I will explain that later. For now, I will tell you to be connecting the dots next time. When the Nolan's guards came here, when he did request for my resignation letter, when I came back in the escort of the Nolan's? Come on, you need to meet your son-in-law now." Lian said.

"You mean?"
