I woke up the next morning feeling rather light. This was hands down the best sleep I've had in days, my reoccurring nightmare went like it never happened.
The first thing I notice is that my windows are open. It's a bit bright so I raise my hand to my face to block the sunlight.
"Good morning Tiger"
My head instinctively turns in the direction of the voice. For the first time this morning, I lay my eyes on her.
She sat on my desk wearing one of my T-shirts which reached to her thighs. Her hair is currently in a messy bun. I could have sworn that I heard a growl of approval coming from me. How do I know it's approval? I just know it is.
"I see you've made yourself comfortable," I say, my eyes completely glued on her.
"Oh, the shirt?", she says as she looks down and pulls it a bit from her chest."
"Thought you might like it".
She thought? Damn, she must be a psychic cause her morning look in my T-shirt was driving me nuts.
"From the way you're staring, I guess I was right." She says this time tilting her head, leaving a smirk after her words.
If I didn't find her absolutely attractive before now I completely do. Damn this mate bond. Cause of it my heart feels like it just ran a marathon.
"Are you gonna say something or you just gonna keep staring?" She says. I immediately snap out of whatever spell she cast on me and get off the bed.
"Wait what's the time?" I ask her immediately after my foot touches the ground.
"7:31," she replies.
"We're late!" I exclaim, immediately rushing to the bathroom.
"There's no need to worry about that," She says as she gets off my desk and walks to a window.
"What do you mean we don't have to worry? Today's a Monday." I say still trying to understand what exactly was going through this seductress' mind
She turns around and leans on the window.
"After I bit you..."
I immediately cut her off. "We're gonna have a long talk about that."
She giggles a bit and says that was going to be the last time. There's no way in hell I'm taking her word on that tho cause if there's one thing I know about wolves it's that they are instinctive creatures.
"So as I was saying before you rudely cut me off, we spent way too much time apart after that night so our bond's currently In the negative zone." She says.
"Negative zone?" I ask confused as to what the term implied.
"It means our bond is way more damaged than normal." She explains.
"I still don't get how this is related to us not going to school," I say leaning on the bathroom door.
The first thing I get from her is a sigh.
"You know for someone quite hot you can be clueless at times." She replies.
"Well, I'm sorry Milady buh I was not a Werewolf until you made me one so tone down the judging a bit," I say with a smirk.
She immediately flashes her canines, jokingly threatening me.
"Hey, we made a pact, no more biting," I say more scared about the fact that she might do it.
"Well..." She says as she slightly pushes herself away from the window.
"...Cause we spent so much time apart, we're gonna have to stay close together for a while to repair it." She continues. At the end of her statement she's already in front of me, my height causing me to tower over her a bit. It's then an idea popped up in my head.
"You know I haven't had time to think about it buh you're really..."
"Say it and I'll rip your throat out" she immediately replies with a smile.
I lean down until our faces are barely apart.
"Feisty are we," I say with a smirk. She's been at me all morning. We can't just let her have all the fun now, can we?
She hits me in the stomach, the pain leaving me to lean down further than normal.
"You're gonna have to try harder than that." She says before leaving a peck on my cheek.

"Okay, now that we've had breakfast can I get a full explanation on this whole werewolf situation?" I ask my mate, truly fascinated by how she makes eating cereal look so good.
"That question came later than I expected." She says as she eats her last piece of breakfast.
Of course, it came late. With the way you looked this morning, I don't think any young sane guy would remember to ask.
"So what exactly do you want to know?" She asks.
"You said something about enhanced strength and something else yesterday. Am I superior to normal humans now?" I ask her, my mind still trying to come to terms with what I truly am.
"Yeah, you have enhanced reflexes, strength, senses, and speed." She replies.
Yeah I guessed as much. I did notice the changes in my body buh I just shrugged them off as delusions because a wolf bit me. I guess now it makes perfect sense.
"But..." She continues
"But?" I ask knowing that I am not going to like the words that she's going to say next.
"... There's a loophole."
I let out a sigh. "What's the loophole?"
"As every gift has its blessing, it also has its curse", she replied while taking sips from her coffee.
I knew I should be more panicked at the fact that she just said I had a curse but being around her kind of made my nerves calm a bit. It's then I started to understand the true power of the mate bond and why she said we needed to stay together. If it has this much effect when we're together, it'd be devastating if we were apart. The only term I could use to describe the bond was a 'Destined soul contract.'
If any of us broke that contract we'd be damaged not on the outside but on the inside.
I finally muster up the strength I need and ask her the one question I'm sure we all want an answer to.
" What's the curse?" I ask looking straight at her. By now she's finished her coffee and she was messing around with the cup staring into the empty content. Once again I felt it. Worry and concern, except this time it wasn't mine. It was hers.
"Don't worry I can take it." I assure her.
"You go feral every full moon. You're still a newly turned wolf so it's going to be excruciatingly painful for you." She says, this time looking at my face trying to see if I was okay. I found that weird cause she should by what she said about the bond, she should be able to tell how I was feeling without having to look up.
"Don't worry Lena, I mean it can't be worse than the pain I felt when you bit me right?" I say trying to lighten up the mood.
I could have sworn that I felt her worry again. It's then I start to feel unsettled.
"Right?" I ask her again this time the panic clear in my voice.
She sighs.
"Drake, the full moon forces you to turn. it's not just shape-shifting, your bones completely reconstruct. Your entire anatomy will be ripped apart and put together again. For a new wolf who isn't used to shifting you'll be wishing for death."
"Okay damn!!, I know you said it was a curse buh this is more like a heavenly divine punishment." It's at that moment realization dawns on me.
"Wait when is the next full moon?" I look at her immediately.
She sighs.
"Next week."
